    Best video series ever!
    Requests for content, FAQ etc
    1. discussion on how much is too much in terms of inputs/avoiding overnuting
    2. creating much more detailed schedules for how to use all of the products- you could create different categories- very basic, basic, intermediate, advanced, super geeked out- each would have a list of the products used (very basic= very few products and super geeked out= loads of products) and a schedule on how to use
    3. Earth boxes- would love more dedicated content
    4. You guys could take all of the existing video content and have an editor pull out the content by category (Earthbox, pots, bed) and create dedicated videos to for each category with the content you already have
    Keep up the amazing work- I have learned so much about gardening and more importantly- Life

Not just with cannabis, but just overall. I look for ways to be healthier, not just myself, but for the planet too.. You do a good job explaining how, and why to do things. Various agricultural pellets are useful. Pellets for rabbits, beet pellets etc. I like the way they break down in the soil with gradual watering. I'm not sure as to whether or not you could make say a slow release bio char pellet in a certain size. I know that it is really expensive to bring a new product to market due to the cost of research. One of the cheaper ingredients that I use with my plants and vegetables is the old bird seed that seems to pile up under the feeders. I use this along with some of the new growth to put in my "bubbling mixtures" I'll add in just a tinch of bio char mixture from the outdoor fire pit.

    Talking about amending soil. I have a vegetable garden every year raised bed I usually will get manure and sometimes some promix and mix it in. I've stopped tilling too. sometimes at the end of the year I will go to the bait and tackle store and buy three or four containers of worms and dig holes and dump them in random spots in my garden. I would definitely be interested to see how the biochar would work. This year with what I just said I had 15 foot tomato plants

    so, I've been loving using these earthboxes recently, using nothing but your build a flower top dress, craft blend, and your bokashi. everything has been running smooth, but as i finish i have some questions about re-amending. I'm not using any actual build a soil soil, just promix with some organic amendments I already had from building super soil over the years. Knowing this, does it make sense to still treat the system like a no-till setup and plant covercrop over the soil after the run? are there other amendments other than craft blend and build a flower that i should consider? thanks and have a wonderful day.

    while on the topic of breeding … if one were to harvest the main cola of a plant leaving the branches to force pollen and allow seeds to form would this be a way to S1 the plant ? I feel this is a good way to test the flower and allow the plant to produce a clone of itself in seed form, save the time on revegging and taking cuts and those root and then transplant shock and veg time all the way to flower, instead of taking a clone off the revegged plant. bobthe_gardener says just harvest what you need off the plant and leave the rest to seed plus then you have preserved genetics … cheers canna family

    I'd like to hear your thoughts on using BTI to help control fungus gnat population.

    • @jakegaming818
      @jakegaming818 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doing liquid nute fed fox farm and such soil grows I had fungus gnats and sometimes borderline infestation status. Had to target each life stage so Yellow stickies, Diatomaceous earth and starters. When it has progressed ive down peroxide 1part to 3 h20 drench, bottom feeding, drying out soil, changing watering habits etc etc.. and for the worse cases some organic neem oil. I've made a homemade tea with garlic and egg shells and other household ingredients with minor success too. Ultimately the living soil has been SUPER fungus gnats free! Aside from the predator bugs id say insect frass is the best thing to use for living soil... its a nutrient, 2-2-2 in some cases, as well as has chitin which triggers the plants auto defense. I don't have all the science memorized but Google can fill in the blanks. If you are in living soil, frass would be the ticket imo.

    Would really love to see an episode or a segment explaining how to keep and maintain a mother plant.

    • @timp8472
      @timp8472 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The most important part of that is locking in on a strain that you've found particularly appealing from every aspect - final size, aroma from great terps, glisten from great tricomes. It is not always the total THC but instead the overall performance as far as yield and the ease of growth, etc. Once you lock in on a strain and begin to identify locations from which to take cuttings, mark or tag them. Once cuttings are taken, the mother is temporarily in mild shock. Take cuttings in the evening as this tends to lessen shock and dose with CalMag just before light changes. A mother plant will naturally try to go to Bloom and flower. If you intend to take several 'generations' of cuttings for an entire growing season you have a couple of options - one is to continue to take cuttings even as the mother is in the Bud+Flower phase. These will be chronologically the same age as the mother so you'll have an earlier maturing clone, as you have taken it during the mother's Bloom stage. But another option is to keep the mother plant in the Veg stage by not switching lighting and forcing Bloom. If you are able to maintain Veg over a longer period of time and take your cuttings then, those can also be placed on an extended Veg lighting schedule with plants that take a bit longer to mature as the cuttings were not taken during Bloom but instead during your extended Veg period. And you must maintain the correct feed and water programs for the cloning method you've chosen. I like cuttings late, just before bloom because the overall time to full maturity is shorter than a clone taken in early Veg. That said, the late clones often produce a shorter plant and those taken in early Veg tend to be both taller and bulkier, often with a greater yield. I hope this makes sense.

    I went through hell trying to save a Cherry Fritter I got out of bag seed. By reharvested it. I had thrown it outdoors and didnt realize it had thrips when I brought it in to throw back into veg. Took weeks but I conquered the little fuckers for the 1st time ever by doing a combination of Plant Therapy and Doctor Zymes (not at the same time). Then it took a few more weeks before it kicked into gear and started shooting out new branches out of all the popcorn nugs that I left. Now I have some healthy clones from it and it was worth all the effort. I wouldnt advise it unless you really really love the strain though. This one is the skunkiest smelling one I have ever grown, I had to try and save it.

    Whats up dudes?! I got a question..... So I am about to harvest and then re amend without a soil test. Instead of doing what you did in the last re amending episode with the different sulfates and minerals, could I make the same soil I did in the beginning with a third compost,aeration and peat and then mix the same minerals you do when you make soil. Kind of like the coots blend you sell or a recipe you have on that old old episode where you explain the difference of what you and Ras Truth use in making a batch of soil. For instance- 2 cups malted barley 2 cups basalt 1 cup gypsum 1 cup oyster shell 1/2 cup azomite 1/2 cup karanja cake 1/2 cup kelp meal 1/2 cup crab meal and 2 gallons of biochar per cubic foot and just add a good 5 to 7 inches of new soil on top of my old stuff in the 3x3's and then plant into that? Or is that defeating the purpose of everything you are teaching and I should do the science with Mr Bryant the soil test doctor? Much obliged and thank you for making me the best ganja grower in the hood!

    I realized preserving jars in the garage might not b best. It's well insulated minus the door itself and that still gives u huge temp changes between day n night. Might cause condensation in ur jars?? I prefer to keep them in the basement. It's a bit too warm but at least it's consistent

    I only have a 2x4 tent. What’s my best option for pot size? I’d love to run living soil but it seems with my limited space it might be a challenge.

    Like the tortilla trick Jeremy, I just occasionally use a paper towel with a couple drops of water on it when needed. What are your thoughts about using coconut carbon for aquariums in the place of biochar?

    Where did the skunk bud from the 80's and 90's go ? I remember that those buds where so stinky that even if you had it in your pocket , and took it out , you could still smell it . And they where soo sticky that if you squeezed it it would stick to your finger. Did it get bred out of existence ?

      @@zachgallardo4610 I don't believe any of the hype anymore . Everyone names these strains cakes and cookies and all that , but we all know that there's Indica , Sativa , and crosses . I will believe that the OG skunk exist when I see it and smell it and taste it for myself . Thank you though I'll go look

    Hey J. Again, THANKS for your content! Its Gold! For us in Europe, that dont have the possibility to get your products delivered, and dont have the time to source all the elements of living soil, how do you recomend going about starting to grow in living soil? For now I grow with a finished organic soil with organic dry amendments. But I really want to switch to full organic and living soil. Best of regards from Denmark ❤️

    On coco.....my water causes salt toxicity after a month in soil. With coco the water to waste flushes my medium and I don't have any buildup issues. I've tried using soil with dry amendments and bottle nutrients. Always have lockout in flower. My water is well water with 100 ppm and about 6.2 ph.I'm guessing the 100 ppm is mostly salt content? Thanks Jeremy!!

    thinking about seeing blue and red ash? like in the center, sometimes you'll get like black white or gray. Do you think is the ph indicator? or some other chemical imbalance showing in its crystalline.

    How much is "a ton" of biochar? I added 20lbs to a living soil I'm preparing for a Grassroots 3x3x18" bed. I precharged it with lactobacillus (LAB) and tea made from castings. Recipe is 3cu/ft Malibu, 3cu/ft coco, 3cu/ft castings, 1cu/ft pumice, 2cu/ft rice hull, 20 lbs charged biochar.

    What is the status on sulfur in plant nutrients. I bought some all purpose liquid fertilizers, many types , and none of them had sulfur. What do you recommend for a sulfur supplement or nutrient, and how is sulfur used differently than all the other nutrients in the plant?
