    Thank you so much for all of your videos! I passed my CEN on the first try yesterday. Thank goodness I reviewed this video the day before I had multiple organophosphate questions!

    This is perfect!
    I’m studying now for my retake, little under 2w away. However I have a question in relation to the rules of 9s. Can you tell me the numbers for a child? The internet has so many numbers.

      Great Question! For the BCEN CEN exam, answers are ALWAYS referenced from either ENAs ENPC or TNCC references. I am posting a link to the correct rule of nines for both adults and peds... bit.ly/RuleOfNines

    Mark, your reviews are amazing, thank you so much for these resources!!!
    I just took the CEN for the first time today and there was one question that really stumped me. I was asked what to prioritize in the care of a trauma patient and I couldn’t decide between prioritizing: their partial thickness chest burn or their pelvic fx. With the chest burn I’m concerned about airway, but with the pelvic fx I’m concerned about internal hemorrhage; I know to focus on ABC’s but we also reprioritize for hemorrhage...what is your advice when prioritizing this type of question?

    • @boz287
      @boz287  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That's a GREAT Question!
      "IF" the bleeding is "uncontrolled, external hemorrhage" THEN we re-prioritize to C-ABC. Given what you told me, the pelvic Fx is INTERNAL and not external, so I would NOT change to C-ABC.
      Based on what you told me, yes, I would consider airway prioritization based on the burn injury.
      As far as hypovolemia r/t the burn (IE: third spacing) that would not be an immediate threat.
      The only other threat I might consider is if there is evidence given in the question if the chest burn is circumferential or at risk of compromising respirations due to restricting the chest wall movement.
      However, unless the question gives evidence of that, I would not ASSUME that that is the issue.
      Again, based on what you said, I would go with airway first.

      I am scheduled for the test in four days. I have studied your book, studied the CEN 4th edition book, studied your videos, practiced in a purchased BCEN online test. I am new to ED, two years now; 21 years of nursing. I can’t fathom what else to do to prepare; my co-workers are praying for me! 😃
      I still feel unprepared. Any last minute tips to prepare? Thank you for all your help! -Casey

    Hi mark. In the latest Acls - they changed it to CAB. In the CEN- which r we following .? Thanks Mark

    • @boz287
      @boz287  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CEN (through TNCC) says IF "uncontrolled external hemorrhage" THEN repioritize to C-A-B

    I just completed the 1st online exam from the CEN review manual. I answered 125 correctly, which scored a 71.43. How does this score translate to how I would perform on the CEN? How do I know how many of the 125 I answered correctly were true questions?

    • @boz287
      @boz287  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. As the CEN exam is written by the BCEN and the BCEN and ENA overlap to a large degree. Any of their practice tests should correlate pretty well with the actual exam. I have been told that some of the practice test questions were actual exam questions but they had to eliminate some as they had too many. All of the practice exam questions should be "real" questions. The only "research" (beta test questions) are on the actual CEN exam. I hope this helps! Good luck!

    I was always taught ADPIE but you didn't mention the nursing diagnosis part of the nursing process. Any particular reason why?

    • @boz287
      @boz287  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      #1 reason is there are NO Nsg Dx questions on the exam!!!! #2) reason is that the "D" (diagnosis) part is actually part of both the "A" assessment and "P" plan. Under assessment you identify the Nsg Dx and under Plan you outline your goals. You can definitely break out the "D" for Nsg Dx (ADPIE) or just go with APIE. Hope this helps!!!
