I bought my machine back last year and love it, have been trying to find tutorials for this machine and finally found this one. Amazing thank you.
I'm still learning how to use it.
Can you sew names with the free motion foot please? I've just ordered it off your website 🙂

Hey, really glad you enjoyed the video! You can sew almost anything with the free motion foot, the only limit is your creativity!

Thank you for the review. Can it stitch slowly? For example around 1 stitch per second?

The machine is mechanical, so it will go as slow as you are able to accurately press on the analogue foot control. I presume that you would be able to stitch that slowly if you use a light touch.

OH I love this machine! I'm in the US, any idea when/if this will be available here? It reminds me of the Janome-made Kenmore 22 stitch machine that used to be sold through Sears stores.

Hi there! Unfortunately I don't know. The US and UK sides don't tend to cross too often. Sometimes there is a comparative model under a different name and sometimes there is just nothing until they decided to release it further down the line.
Closest thing I can find on the US Janome retailer site is the HD5000 so maybe start there. Otherwise you may just want to look at janome.com and look out for new releases!

I was interested to know about the markings on the throat plate. Are they in metric or inches? Does it have a 1/4 inch mark or guide? I have an old Janome MC3000, and the markings appear to be for garment sewing (5/8 inch mainly). I do a fair amount of quilting and want a machine with quilting markings AND the ability to do free motion, which the HD2200 obviously has. Can you advise of the throat plate markings? Thanks.

Hi! The inner most like on the needle plate is the quarter inch marking. It's actually un-marked on the plate, however I have measured it myself on the machine we have here!

Does your business ship to the USA?

Bought this machine recently and am experimenting. I take it that the foot pedal here is on high speed.

Hey! Great, it's an amazing machine! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it!
I believe we were running it on the fastest speed.
