Cap, just gotta say it. You got me through a hard time around a year ago. Deep depression, suicidal thoughts, and your videos really helped. I know a lot of people say this kind of thing but don’t really mean it and are just looking for some attention, but I don’t really care if you see this. Im writing this right now so I know I wrote it, and if I ever go back to that place I can look back and remember the good times I had. I’ll continue to watch till the end of my dying days, and I just want people to know out there that you aren’t alone. Whether you might feel safe with family, or an asmr TH-camr who you have no relation with and have never talked to before 😂, it doesn’t matter. I hope your safe, and I love ya cap. Have a great life. I think there's an oddly unique culture around the lifespan of TH-cam channels. Maybe because it's still a new thing relatively speaking, being an independent content creator, etc and we don't really have much experience to reflect on or much idea of what to expect. Maybe it's because many of us see the channel we are fans of as effectively having a bit of a dream situation, which is obviously a very short sighted view. At the end of the day, as you've really well explained and reconciled with yourself, this is still a job/hobby - and much more often than not, both of these have a natural end. Whether you've been super successful or not so successful on TH-cam, there will eventually be a point when you want to move on. For some, that's almost forced on them by loss of relevance, for others it's burnout, and in future, it may be literal retirement. I suppose it's nice for us and you to know that, unlike a normal job, you could come back and throw up a video really whenever you like, if you do feel so inclined. There's no real commitment here. All that really will happen with this, is that new subscriber growth will continue to slow until it's effectively static; which is not a factor that should and thankfully has not influenced your decision. You still have a huge bank of quality content here for your die-hards to enjoy and reminisce on. And by the nature of things, if you do upload again - notifications will allow us to view it. It's bittersweet in that we now have full confirmation that regular uploads aren't going to be a thing again - which, honestly, I think most of had clocked on to anyway. But, speaking as someone who has taken direct inspiration from you for my own channel, and enjoyed (still enjoy) your content for my own entertainment/relaxation, I am super glad to have had your presence on the platform. it feels like yesterday when ep2 of minecraft mondays popped up in my youtube home page 3 years ago. Still quite new to asmr, I wasn't that big of a fan of the conventional triggers type of stuff and man your content felt like home; a chill guy playing a game while rambling about life. I don't know how to explain it, but it felt so "normal" I loved every second of it. I have to admit at the time I really needed the company you provided - the little jokes and everything. Maybe I'm exaggerating but, having lived through the divorce of my parents and having to deal with stuff I didn't know how to handle, you seemed like one of the few "normal" people in my life. Then 13, now 16, I've definitely gone through that phase but still enjoyed your content mostly for the nostalgia, but also because... well you're Cap. I stopped being active on your discord a while back but still occasionally peek to see how it's doing (still got that server bot role hehe). Many things have changed from when I first joined but the memories are still here: the time I first met Taco and the gang, when I won that art contest with the subnautica leviathan, when that video of yours boomed, people started flooding in and we had a fight over whose team they'd join. I'm watching this as I upload my first ASMR video in 6 months. The inspiration doesn't strike as often. Like you said, it's hard to say it's dead and to just walk away. I think for me, I've decided that I don't need to apologize for being gone for months at a time. I can just make a video if the inspiration strikes. I hope that if you ever feel the desire to make another ASMR video, you're not afraid to just do it and upload it. I kinda feel the same way, i was very passionate about doing asmr related content in the beginning but I've realised that I can't be consistent due to university and mental health. I love asmr but I can't keep up with making content myself. I think i would be more passionate if i was playing video games and recording my reactions and experiences. Or maybe even just make vlogs about my life as an artist. I'd also love to stream. There are so many things i could choose to try but they all require time and effort that I can't give because i have university and mental health responsibilities.

Been 3 months, still missing the captain. The boys are getting restless sleeps been hard lately. We binge old Fortnite vids and role plays but still it’s not the same knowing he’s gone. All we can do now is look up to the cold sky as we drift away and hope that maybe the captain will return to help us sleep once again.

I kinda feel the same way, i was very passionate about doing asmr related content in the beginning but I've realised that I can't be consistent due to university and mental health. I love asmr but I can't keep up with making content myself. I think i would be more passionate if i was playing video games and recording my reactions and experiences. Or maybe even just make vlogs about my life as an artist. I'd also love to stream. There are so many things i could choose to try but they all require time and effort that I can't give because i have university and mental health responsibilities.

Been 3 months, still missing the captain. The boys are getting restless sleeps been hard lately. We binge old Fortnite vids and role plays but still it’s not the same knowing he’s gone. All we can do now is look up to the cold sky as we drift away and hope that maybe the captain will return to help us sleep once again.
