You are more than welcome! Thank you so much for your message. I hope you have a fantastic time in Cartagena. Please let me know how your visit was. Happy travels! 😉🚢
Thank you 🙏 Glad you liked! It is a really beautiful city,. Actually, all ports of call in Spain during the Wonder of the Seas first transatlantic crossing were amazing! More to come😉
Which museums were your favorite? Castillo de la Concepcion? The Roman Forum? or Roman Theater? That is a lot of museums for one day and wondering which one to cut if necessary.
Hello! Thank you for your message. You will love Cartagena! If you have limited time and have to cut one attraction from your itinerary, I would suggest skipping the Roman Forum. It's the furthest one from the port. Instead, you can visit the Roman theater and the castle, which are both located on the same hillside. Both require a bit of walking, including some steep areas. To save time, you can start at the lift area that will take you close to the top of the Castillo area. From there, you can make your way down to the Roman theater which would be a lot easier on your feet. Enjoy your visit! Happy sailing!!
Hi Horton. We r going on a cruise November 1-15. Our first stop is Cartegena. How do you know how to get to the Roman theatre from the cruise ship? I have issues with a lot of climbing. Should I take a tour excursion? I would prefer to walk. Do you think it’s a hard walk? Thanks
Hi Joan, how are you? Great question! Most ships stop at the central dock area at the Cartagena Port. Leaving the ship you going to be on a walk way that will take you to the ports comercial area (a feel shops, museums, aquarium) … from there take a left following the water and it will led you to the historic center, look for the Palacio Consistorial de Cartagena… (it is a beautiful and imposing white building ) the entrance to the Roman theater is just in the opposite side of the building. ( on the final bit of my video I showed both buildings and a bit of the walk going back to the ship…it might help to find the place). The walking time from the ship to the Roman Museum is about 20 minutes on a very flat area (if following the above indications). There are options of hop on hop off buses that past buy most of the attractions as well. P/S: just a note sometimes (when the port is busy) some ships will dock a bit further down on the harbor, even though not too far, you might need to take a shuttle or cab to the historic center. Hope I helped to clarify a bit things for you! Enjoy Cartagena and Have an amazing voyage!!! 😉🛳️
Thank you So you go straight from the ship to the end of the walkway n then turn left. Some TH-camr said the ruins r to the right n restaurant n shopping to the left. She confused me so I reached out to you lol. So I’m thinking it’s like the letter T walk from the ship on the longer part of T n then when you get to the end turn left for roman theater n cathedral. Thanks again
There are other docks but if your ship is docked on the main one you just need to follow the walkway and like you said follow the T and at turn left ( you are going to walk to the left following between the water and the port shops till the end of the pier) there you will have to walk a bit to the right and cross the road to reach the city center … you will be able to see the consistorial palace from the crossing. This way will lead you straight to the museum entrance … for the catedral you will have to walk more and turn around the corner… Just keep an eye for the Roman theater museum entrance it is very discreet… when I was there I missed the entrance and ended up walking around for a while till I found it again 😉 … hope it helped … let me know how you go but I am sure you will be ok 👍🏻… happy and safe travels 🛳️
You are absolutely right! it’s is not in Bolivia… the other Cartagena is in Colombia!!! I misspoke the name of the city on the video but have put a not on its description about it while ago as I can’t modify the video after publishing on TH-cam! My Apologies once more!
