VATAC TOP ENTRY BALL VALVE

The Vatac top entry valve is designed with a one-piece trunnion supported ball conforms to API specifications 6D and ASME B16.34. All seats are retained in metal holders which are spring-loaded against the ball for low pressure, fire safe sealing.

The main purpose of the top entry ball valve is to access the internal parts from top port without removing the entire valve from pipeline. What would be the benefit of this design over the conventional side entry valve?
