Another thing I think is an upgrade, is that it remembers the last temp you used and sets to that with just one click. I had the older version. After 7 months it started to malfunction. Aberlite was quick to reply, and shipped me out a new one same day. I was surprised to see it was an upgraded version. I don’t necessarily love the 10 min timer, as it doesn’t flow with my routine and was always turned off by the time I got to it. That’s not a huge deal tho, and I absolutely love this thing. Game changer when it comes to wild mustaches and sideburns.

LOVE my Aberlite Pro. I use it every day now. I have the pre December 2023 model, and I have no issues with it. It heats up quickly enough for me. Just plug it in when starting my routine, and its always ready to go. I used to only use my cheaper heated brush rarely, because it was hit or miss, but the new Aberlite pro I got is fantastic! I have been having good luck with 280-300 as it is a more gentle heat, and the difference of the ionic generator makes a noticeable difference in the styling and feel of the hair. I used to get weird flip ups or dips with my smaller heated brush, that had fairly large temperature swings, even though it supposedly was always displaying the same temperature. Full disclosure it was the Aberlite EDC, which I would not recommend. Small head and comb size, widely swinging temperature, and the back got so extremely hot, that you HAD to keep the silicone guard on it at all times. Maybe the PRO back would get really hot if I used a higher temperature, but the temperature of the back is nothing compared to that EDC I had.

I upgraded from Aberlite Max to the Pro about 3 weeks ago. I love the Pro. With the Max, I almost dreaded using it because of the size and not that maneuverable. I love the slimline Pro, it is so easy to use. I actually look forward to using it. My beard stays styled all day. I cannot say enough good things about the Aberlite Pro.

Thanks for the video. I upgraded to the Pro last year about a month before the updated Pro came. The Pro is a great tool and Aberlite is a great company to work with. I watch one of your older videos about applying heat to your beard. After playing around with the heat settings I used 280 as my go to heat setting. I found that 365 straightened my beard a little too much and 280 does straighten my beard and leaved some texture to my hair. Wirth the texture of my hair, being an African American, the 280 setting works well for me.

I also didn't know what I was doing and hadn't dialed in my heat setting, but it just didn't do much at most temps I tried. Then I was lucky enough to win the Aberlite Pro (just like the one you're reviewing but I guess the version just before because there's no app capability) and I also learned more about how to style my beard and what temp works for me. And the Aberlite is just great! Styles my side beard just great, no frizz once I figured out proper temp. It's just a great product!

I started minimal temperatures like 250F and still had good results just took longer, but i wanted and needed the extra time while figuring out how to use it, how to dial in style i wanted. I use 320F now because i know what im trying to do, don’t need the extra time. Personally always been confused why these devices allow such high temps above 420F etc, but love my Aberlite regardless, one of the top products and biggest changes out of anything I’ve done for my beard!
About styling i think the biggest error most run into, i did for sure, is simply thinking you need to push it into your beard more then is needed. Good tools, especially these you can style just fine gliding along over the hair no need to push inwards excessively.

The Aberlite Pro is a great straightener. I enjoyed using it. I had mine for just over a year when it stopped heating. The display showed it getting hotter but the unit was not actually heating. The warranty is now 2 years, but that does not apply to older units which I guess still have just a 1 year warranty. Since mine is not covered by the warranty, I am not sure if I will buy another. Was hoping that it would work longer for the price of the unit.

@@DanCBearded mine shuts off after 10 minutes, however it stops at 400° (not that I care about going any higher). With my first cheap-o straightener, I would go up as high as possible. I know for a fact that I was over doing it! My preferred temp is 340° for the initial straightening. Then I drop it down to 280° when I do the final touches that require a little longer approach. Due to my current length of beard, I am fortunate to be able to come up from the back of my beard and utilize my palm as the backboard. I do this multiple times until I get the desired strangeness, then give ONE LIGHT SWIPE on all sides for direction. It’s important to stop at that point though and hit it with a cool shot. Any more heat after that causes it to fly away and do things I don’t like. Hope that can help someone new who may try and go all out at 400° and damage their lush mane. Keep on trying! You’ll definitely be walking around looking goofy once and awhile until you find the style or styles that you can work with.

I struggled to believe that the Pro was that much better to be worth the price... Well I can attest that it IS!!!
I had the Compact (Pocket) from Aberlite, it was a great heated brush, and 1000X better than the original cheap heated brush I had. My original heated brush was made for head hair, was too big for facial hair use, and was limited in the heat adjustability. Plus it was very UNCOMFORTABE to use, it was convex, the bristles were taller in the center than the edges, and the space from the top of the bristles to the heating element was too large.
The Compact was a TON better the shape is concave, it was more comfortable, the distance from the tips to the heating element was better, and the heat adjustability was better.
The Pro is easily that much better than the Compact, the bristles are arranged more comfortably, the profile is flat and the space from the tip to the heating element is less than the other two I've had. The temperature is even more adjustable, I personally like that it goes even lower. I use 280 degree setting, and love that it remains set each time I use it, it heats up amazingly fast, and shuts itself off if I forget...
