    Another great video, thanks Dan.
    I started practicing the Mim Hof Method over 8 years ago. I gave up on the breathing part about 2 and a 1/2 years ago. But I continued to take ice cold showers every day. Once in a while I take a completely ice Cold shower, but that's pretty rare these days. Usually I do like you Said. I take a normal, warm to hot shower and then end with about two minutes of ice cold shower. I did it for mental health reasons, which has Helped me with depression and anxiety immensely. I have minimal anxiety and zero depression.
    And I have also gone into ice lakes in Canada when I visited. Not jumping in and out but staying in for about four minutes. Love the challenge. Have a great day Dan.

    I daily shower with warm water, wash my beard in the shower with water, and a shampoo brush. I am in week 2 of no products at all. It’s just a trial run. I want to try it for a month, loving the volume gained so far, not dry, weirdly enough, my beard feels as soft as if I had beard oil in it. You mentioned in one of your videos that the Sebum oil can only go so far down the hairs, and that a beard is not usually meant to be super long which is why if oil is not used it can make your hair dry. Now, obviously this is person dependant, but if a person kept their beard the maximum length that the sebum oil could naturally moisturize the skin as it’s suppose to, then in theory a person wouldn’t need beard oil? I was going to mention have you ever done a ‘absolutely no product for one month’ challenge? I guarantee if you use a shampoo brush and warm water on your beard daily, you will notice how nice it feels, of course yours is really long so not sure. Maybe give it a shot in a video 👍 keep it up man! Great info!

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Great information Dan! I started doing the cold rinse last year after hearing your take on it. As you mentioned, it's a challenge when you first start doing it, but now it's just part of my normal routine. I was worried about being able to keep it up when the winter hit the Midwest, but it wasn't any more difficult than normal, despite my initial trepidation.
    In addition to the things you mentioned, I find it's a great way to wake up if you are showering first thing in the morning. It's probably a bit of a mental trick for my brain, but I enjoy being able to start the day with something "challenging". It gives me a small sense of accomplishment when I push through the full body cold rinse, because it would be easy not to. I'd recommend everyone at least try it for a week. You may find yourself surprised like I did, and then it's just your new normal. As always, great job Dan! Thank you!

    Dan, it also sounds like if the hot/warm water is loosening/straightening your hair, then use the cold right afterward, that it would *lock* in that straighter look better than if it slowly got cooler again after getting out and bounced back. Does that sound right? My beard is very wavy and any way to assist in straightening is helpful.

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Passing out from a cold rinse!? Whoa, never heard of such a thing. In most cases I would think there was an underlying cause there that should be looked into.
      I would assume the passing out in most cases like that is from heavy breathing? The temperature change in this situation should not be extreme enough for most to worry about though.
      I go from a cold plunge to a hot tub (and vice versa) at least 5 times a week. That’s going from 40° to 104°
