Peter Pettigrew aka Worm tail made me realize that no truer words were ever spoken by Dante in the Divine Comedy when he stated that the deepest and innermost circle of hell is reserved for those who commit betrayal. The damage caused and many lives ruined by Wormtail’s betrayal time and time again in the HP series just goes to prove that Dante was probably right about the treachery of betrayers.

I think people compare them because of the duality in so many of the characters. Neville and Peter were meek, fearful and underestimated. But while Peter just wanted to be protected by who he thought was the strongest person in the room while never really giving himself the credit he could just defend himself. Neville does the exact opposite. He’s always a sweetheart and when Bellatrix escapes he doesn’t look for protection. He gets confidence and proves how incredible he could be. Neville deserves soo much more love.
Well I would say cowardness can be a danger to yourself and to others as Peter definitely demonstrated, not to mention the fact that he killed 12 innocent muggles while trying to frame his former friend even after all the things Sirus & James did the snake while they were in Hogwarts that one crime that Peter did along with betraying his friends outweighs it all because he was afraid of Voldemort he went on his side because he felt it was The winning side and of course he murdered and innocent 17 -year-old boy

Well judging by the book he knew exactly what Sirius and Remus were talking about during confrontation in the third book.

I think you forgot his perhaps most impressive feat; he spied on the Order for a year meaning that he managed to deceive not only the Marauders but also the likes of Moody or Dumbledore for an entire year. Anyway I've a private theory that Peter not only artificially created a discord between Remus and the rest of his friends making it seem as if Remus was the spy but that he also manipulated Sirius into convincing James and Lily to cast a new Fidelius with Peter being the keeper.

That's because several of his contemporaries and associates were naturally more talented both academically and with magic and sometimes Wormtail was receiving instructions on what to do when to do it. But he was no incompetent fool,nonetheless.
Just my own personal insight here. But James and Sirius were arrogant bullies most of the time they were kids. They also would turn that on Peter calling him stupid occasionally. To them it was humor and poking fun at a friend with no malice behind it. However Peter wouldn’t have taken it that way. Remus on the other-hand was always quite humble. I’m willing to bet he never teased Peter the same way he never bullied Snape. Remus would also be quite the wizard as far as magical skill goes. I think Peter respected Remus more.

J.K.R. has said herself, that, The whole HP story is Not a happy one just one with a happy(ier) ending. I say happier as I was happy good prevailed by so heart broken by the amount of lost. It mirrors both great World Wars & humankind as a whole. Its a story that has been told over and over again just in a new way, in a world among yet separate from ours & it reached generations in a way "the older" works weren't. Please don't get me wrong the classics are that for a reason & I said back in the 90s that I thought the HP books would become classics too. I just wish that we as a whole would learn from our past & our "stories" & be better because of it & not continuing the perpetual motion we seem to be on.

Peter was dangerous because he looked innocent and no one would ever think that he would betray his own friends for Voldemort who doesn’t even care about his followers. Peter is just a follower he always follows people with power. He didn’t care for his friends and didn’t care if they were at risk. He only wanted was to win.
I don’t think Peter was the most powerful Maruader tho he feared Lupin, and Sirus in addition to probably James. He lost so much hair and weight due to his fear of Sirius

Sirius knew that werewolves had joined Voldemort and he knew the history behind it. So I doubt that Sirius was jinxed. Sirius suspected Remus because he was a werewolf.

Peter wasn’t powerful, in The Prisoner of Azkaban, Sirius says that Voldemort would never dream that they would use a weak talentless thing as him as the secret keeper; but he definitely was the most dangerous, any scared, animal backed in a corner can do quite a bit of damage, even a rat.
I actually think we all have Peter Petigrew all wrong. In truth Peter Petigrew was a triple agent for Dumbledore and the betrayal of James and Lily was part of a much deeper darker plan to destroy Voldemort once and for all. (You may think that sounds nuts t first glance but just red the novels again with an open mid with this theory on it and you will be amazed how much supporting evidence will start to come into focus!) I actually have the whole theory available for anyone who’d like to hear more, I’m just not enough of a video wizard to make a channel to put it on myself. The “Avada Kedavra” curse requiring true wish to murder is disproved by Snape.
Trusting Peter as the secret keeper of the Potters was a big mistake. Pus a coward like him didn't belong in Gryffindor, thats a big mistake the sorting hat made

I actually think we all have Peter Petigrew all wrong. In truth Peter Petigrew was a triple agent for Dumbledore and the betrayal of James and Lily was part of a much deeper darker plan to destroy Voldemort once and for all. (You may think that sounds nuts t first glance but just red the novels again with an open mid with this theory on it and you will be amazed how much supporting evidence will start to come into focus!) I actually have the whole theory available for anyone who’d like to hear more, I’m just not enough of a video wizard to make a channel to put it on myself.
