The tongue depressor is what one of my speech therapists did to get me to produce the /a/ sound. I'm deaf but do not have apraxia. She used that method to teach me how hearing people produced the /a/ sound, and to help me connect the vowel with "aaahh", the latter of which I had to do every time my doctor and dentist exam my mouth.
Oh my goodness!!! Thank you so much for creating this amazing resource for both parents and professionals. As a new Speech-Language Pathology Assistant I am building my clinical skills. Your method really struck a chord with me!!!

Hi, we can do online evaluation, teletherapy for speech is not so useful if there is no previous relationship with the child. Guidance can be given online.

My son is 3yrs old with language and speech delay since i learned wat this is ihv tryed recommended techniques and he's now sayings half of the abc but dose not repeat it when i teacher it but on his own time I'll hear him saying it but he's very hyperactive how do i get him to sit still and try this with him

Hi, this is the vml method. Not prompt. It does use physical prompts similar to prompt but different and much more variety

Hi, you need to practice the receptive language first, working on understanding basic concepts in language. Only then run a speech evaluation and start practicing the speech.
