I worked retail and I would include the price of the complete computer purchase plus tax (it is not difficult to do). It did make my managers mad at me though. So I feel the real reason is the companies like faking the customer into paying more than they are prepared to pay.

So people that do sports need to drink much more water so their intake of fluoride is much more than the average person out there. That is insane when you think about that. It's the same of iodine intake here in the Netherlands. They put it in every bread and kitchen salt, but to much idiodine is also causing problems. So people that do sports they need to eat a lot and they get to much iodine inside. Fortunately people here can still choose to make their own bread of use other salt for the kitchen. It doesn't effect the basic need of water.

There's a little more to the drinking age story. People underage in one state would travel to the next state to get alcohol where it was legal and sometimes wouldn't wait to get back to start drinking it.
I'm not so sure about that. I mean, economically maybe it's lower, but when it comes to your health ... . @@nateman10 I can understand your concerns, but I must really stress something *VERY IMPORTANT* here. Increased government control would be a *HUGE* problem, as China is a perfect exampel of ... as long as corruption is allowed to run rampant. What you're overlooking, that which makes the difference between a government working *FOR* the people or *AGAINST* the people, is *the level of corruption in a nation.* India and U.S. are not good examples of that you know. Now, the northern part of Europe (known as "The Nordics") does indeed have some corruption as well, but overall it is the *LEAST* corrupt region *on the planet.* That matters. *Greatly.* Because of their strict regulations and transparency laws, those governments do indeed work for the people, and a high government control simply makes it easier for services like universal health care to operate. I'm curious, but do you know the difference between a *welfare state* and a *socialist state?* If you're unclear about why that matter, I advice you to find some information about it. It might help quell your concerns a bit.
@@bjoardar We pay a variety of taxes in different areas in addition to the sales tax. Generally, that sales tax is determined by state and city. That money does not go to the government regulatory services you are referring to. We pay state and federal taxes yearly, some or all of which comes out of every paycheck. Sales tax varies from around 5% to 11%. Around 25% to 40% of a person's paycheck already goes to taxes. People speak of these higher wages in Europe and VAT, but there are countries where people are paying upwards of 50-60% of that income in taxes. You don't think you could use some of that money and make better decisions for yourself that still resulted in not getting sick? People here, in many cases, have the option to make better choices but they choose not to. However, as one commenter said "Americans pay less taxes, and coincidentally they have worse public services . . . " it's worth noting that blanket statements like that are silly. A lot depends on the State, and then the county, then the city you live in. Not that reaction videos are empirical evidence or something, but from observing their reactions to coming here in addition to the reactions of many foreign visitors I have met, they sure do appreciate the prices and variety in our food choices. While there are many health concerns in the food/water in America, a lot of our sickness comes from two things that have gotten pretty bad (among many other issues): 1) Laziness. Hence so much quick food for home and when out (and heavily promoted by busy work/life ways of things, so some is also necessity), and 2) Greed in wanting what they want with no regard for anyone or anything else. The second is odd considering how generous Americans are in other ways. We have a lot of work to do, but if you really take a look at our government you will see that giving them more money is not the answer. The use of money in these stimulus packages passed during both President Trump's and President Biden's time in office highlights that. That was enough money to completely wipe out several areas of major debt across the country. It could have been an astronomical help to all Americans, but nah, let's donate some of it to other countries and pay some to places like The Kennedy Center. No, our government gets money, from us, and we get a tiny bit back while the politicians get to fight to pay for all their "causes." Yeah, I'm fine with paying less taxes to these people.
@@r.h.3084 Ok, I get where you're coming from and since I know how much corruption there is in the U.S. government that keeps preventing you from joining the rest of the developed world in something as basic as parental leave, I agree with you that throwing more money at such people does no good. If you are able to lower the amount of corruption there is in your policy making, and increase transparency, then your government might actually be worth an increased investment, but that's all speculative at this point. Btw, about those 50% taxes you where talking about, I live in one of those nations and I really want you to have some *context* to that. You see, that kind of taxes does not apply to just any income. That only affect people who have the higehst income, say $400.000 a year or more. Once they reach that treshold of $400.000, *ONLY* then will their taxes increase to 50% - 60% as you put it. Anything below $400.000 is *NOT* taxed at 50%. So even if their income is more than that, the high taxes won't affect them until they reach the point set by the government. Because of that, becoming rich in a nation with such high taxes is actually possible, given that last I checked, we have more *DOLLAR* millionaires per capita than even the U.S. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But yeah, in conclusion to you, if the U.S. can come to grips with its problem of corruption, increased government control *for some areas* could actually be a great boon instead and save a lot of tax dollars due to simplified processes, like health care for example. As corrupt as the U.S. government is today though, I don't trust it either, and I'm not even a U.S. citizen, so I totally agree with you on that. You don't want to become China 2.0
Used to be a tip was a bonus for exceptional service but with more and more places choosing to bill you for the tip instead of letting you choose if and how much yourself it takes away the incentive for service workers to provide good service since they'll be getting the money anyway.

Using leaves for plates is environmentally good, if you have a lot of them. We don't have big leaves where I live and we have winters, so we need plates.
A lot of people buy bottled water to drink or add a filter to the fawcett and use the tap water for laundry and washing dishes. I live in a state that has a lot of mountains and streams & rivers in Washington State . Even in the mountains where the water is clear I use a portable filter to remove things you can't see such as pathogens or diseases. Our snow is very white at the moment but come spring you can see all the dirty particles that have come from across the Pacific Ocean from other countries pollution that ends up in the water.
The only thing crazy to me is the tipping nonsense. Mostly everything else was just goofy. The world doesn't need to do everything the same to exist. We don't even look the same. Having a problem with cold drinks is what's weird.

I would not take this young woman's comments seriously as she is prejudiced. About our money not changing. Americans have a saying: if it isn't broke--don't fix it. The green bills would be costly to change size and color. Thank you for sharing!👍👍
I don't see why changing the color would be so terribly costly. And the size thing is an issue for blind people - if different bills had different sizes, blind people could tell them apart and verify that they receive the agreed amount in a transaction, without having to bring in a trusted third party. And changing the size shouldn't be too difficult either - vending machines usually eat the bills with the short side first, so if you just change the length without changing the height, most machines could continue working either without changes or with a simple software update.
@@iwikal The currency amount stated on each bill is what's important, not the size or color. If you write a 5 page letter do you write it on different paper sizes and colors? No, cause what's written on the pages is the only thing that matters. I'm glad we do things our way and other countries do things their way. Our cultures are not the same. Differences are what makes the world special.
@@ladiuneeq9789 how is someone who can't see going to be able to tell what the amount is that's stated on the bill without a third party? They should at least make American currency accessible to every American, should they not?
@@ladiuneeq9789 I agree the color might not be too important. I think the argument for different colors is that it makes it easier for the visually impaired (or anyone really) to tell them apart without glasses, but the color of USD bills is an iconic globally recognized symbol of money that is worth preserving. However, I stand by my statement that blind people would benefit from differently sized bills. They can't read the numbers.
@@Idkdude50 Legally blind or totally blind? There's a huge difference. If the legally blind don't have a problem with it now, how is changing the color going to prove more accessible to them? Totally blind will have someone to help them with it, so it still won't matter either way. The USA is one of the most accessible ♿ countries in the world. That is provable!

Most Americans are not aware of Flouride in the water, and its adverse effects on ingesting the chemical. Also since, the people that print the money do have different colors starting in 2003.
Sales tax not only differs from state, but from county to county, and city to city! I’ve seen so many foreigners shocked at how much the prices of items increase at the checkout counter. They often get really embarrassed, but most everyone has done that at some point - even if you’ve been here your whole life. So no worries! No one is judging you
Sales tax: Yes businesses would have zero problem incorporating sales tax into the price tag. Back, before everybody used computers to handle inventory, there might have been a legitimate reason, but the state does not care, as long as it gets its cut. By leaving sales tax off the price, the merchandise looks less expensive.

It might help to know that America is comprised of states that have a lot of independence in making laws & governing. We join together, or “unite”, for national law & policy. This is why we are called The UNITED States of America.
Metric System: the number one thing standing in the way of conversion to the metric system in the US is money. Primarily for road way signage. There is 4.09 million miles of roadways, highways, and streets in the US. Most land plotting, street measures, and laws pertaining to them are in standard rather than metric. This includes; speed limits, ratified distances between marking signs, notation on marking signs, width, elevation, and right of way determinations, among many others. With some 390k road way signs, some 8 million speed limit signs, some 12 million mile marker signs; these alone would cost anywhere from $3 billion to $5 billion to replace. Laws would have to be amended to adjust to metric as well, and let's face it, our country's governance is broken. In short, it's simply not viable for the US to convert economically, sociologically, or politically.
Every car in the US needs a special speedometer to be able to show miles per hour, instead of km per hour. This makes every non-digital speedometer a little more expensive. And this is only one example. In the next couple of 100 years the US will loose a lot of money because of that more expensive specialization. About the $5 billion dollars to replace the imperial system. That's only 2,5 Northrop B-2A Spirit bombers, where one bomber costs alone about $2 billion. In short, it's viable, you only need to set priorities.
@@OpenGL4ever No they won't, as speedometers are all switching to digital anyways it'll only become cheaper. As for analogue speedometers, well it's actually standard to place both MPH and KMH on said dials and it costs pennies more to do.
I disagree. I think the number one impediment is the stubbornness of the American people. "We've always done it our way. Why should we have to change for the rest of the world?"

If you survive Indian river water you probably have a very strong immune system (and perhaps a few passengers in the gut) but fluoride does nothing good, I opt for drinking neither if I can help it.
The irony is she warns of the dangers of fluoride in the water in the US but it's more common to have skeletal fluorosis in India because it's in the ground water. The trace amount in water builds up to mineralize bone and teeth... allegedly.. but there's zero harm in the minute amounts in our water. You would drown before you could drink enough to cause you any harm even over 100 years time.

The larger gap is also so you dont have to mop each stall individually, the mop will fit under the door from the outside.

Fluoridation of water is only in towns and big cities. I live in the country, in Northern Michigan and we have a well in our property, that we get water from. Great video guys!
There's a little more to the drinking age story. People underage in one state would travel to the next state to get alcohol where it was legal and sometimes wouldn't wait to get back to start drinking it.
I'd rather have our sales tax than some places "value added tax." When you look at the numbers, we pay less.
I'm not so sure about that. I mean, economically maybe it's lower, but when it comes to your health ... . That "value added tax" pay for things like "food safety" and "quality standards", and considering how many food stuffs from the U.S. that are banned in the E.U. Americans pay less taxes, and coincidentally they have worse public services. It's probably not that simple but it's worth thinking about.
*Greatly.*
Because of their strict regulations and transparency laws, those governments do indeed work for the people, and a high government control simply makes it easier for services like universal health care to operate.
No, our government gets money, from us, and we get a tiny bit back while the politicians get to fight to pay for all their "causes."
Yeah, I'm fine with paying less taxes to these people.
But yeah, in conclusion to you, if the U.S. can come to grips with its problem of corruption, increased government control *for some areas* could actually be a great boon instead and save a lot of tax dollars due to simplified processes, like health care for example.
As corrupt as the U.S. government is today though, I don't trust it either, and I'm not even a U.S. citizen, so I totally agree with you on that. You don't want to become China 2.0
Salam, Old Baba bahut shukriya for your nice ghazal!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Used to be a tip was a bonus for exceptional service but with more and more places choosing to bill you for the tip instead of letting you choose if and how much yourself it takes away the incentive for service workers to provide good service since they'll be getting the money anyway.

A lot of people buy bottled water to drink or add a filter to the fawcett and use the tap water for laundry and washing dishes.
