The turning point seems to be the RTX 2016 On The Spot episode, but he slowly slides that direction quite a ways before that. I quite liked his recent-ish videos on his personal channel.
On one of the Always Open episodes, he talks about how he was going through a divorce durimg some of these. I can't really blame him.
I just watched the most recent one, he's kind of a "doofus" I guess in the first few in comparison, he's aging like a fine wine
