    I noticed my female false chameleon anole had a shift in personality when she hit sexual maturity and started laying occasional eggs. She went from happily crawling in my hand to hiding, puffing up, and even threatening to bite. I just kept working with her as usual and she is coming back around :) Maybe yours is a similar situation? Hope she chills back out for you!

    i feed my crickets different veggies i find in my fridge and pellets for carnivorous turtles because i read they could get after each other while shedding, when not offered protein. i don't know if it's true or not but the cricket go crazy on the turtle food. it's kinda cute seeing them carrying the pellets arround.
    for the superworms and roaches i actually use the leftover crested gecko diet. so nothing goes to waste.

    Answer For today's question: For gutloading my feeder insects( mainly crickets and mealworms) I sometimes giving them carrots, some vegetables, and sometimes crumbles that sometimes being used as a feed for poultry. From my experience, carrots for crickets will giving them longer lifespan and reducing mortality rates. I also trying to giving my crickets turmeric and it works too.

    • @Reptiliatus
      @Reptiliatus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Inflammation isn't quite the same. It is beneficial to your gecko's health regardless. Still, I would strongly recommend medical intervention (a veterinarian visit) and most likely an antibacterial topical ointment such as silvasorb but I am not qualified to give a prescription.

    About your backgrounds on the anoles and tokay's enclosures, are those the cork background that are ''burnt''/heated? I have a pannel that looks exactly like that but I'm a bit reluctant on using it on a RECS or WECS enclosure because of the burn smell. Can you smell that on yours and did you see any negative effects since you used them?

    Anoles are easily stressed out even with constant handling and hand feeding. My Cuban Knight Anole, the one I had in my 20s would only let me feed him through the screen of his tank since he was so freaked out by the big human coming over.

      @@Reptiliatus I know, but Anoles are always a skiddish species. Even if you don't force them...they kind of just freak out.
