I love when the fellas talk Baseball
I didn’t have the Odd Couple talking about a Pittsburgh Pirate on my ‘24 bingo card 😂
As a Pirates fan it's nice to see them on here. First time I'm pretty sure lol
Idk how. Rob Parker is a huge baseball fan so talking about the best story in baseball makes sense.
Paul Skenes is the real deal.
A prime example of why baseball has fallen so far in popularity. Analytics over-use has ruined MLB!
can you blame the pirates… if you know about their horrible history and how they havent had too much success with their teams and prospects. Skenes is the best prospect in years cant be mad that they are extra careful with him if you think about it
@@smellysockss7551 they can be extra careful all they want, he throws max effort 100 mph on every pitch. He’s going to get hurt eventually and you missed a special moment. I agree with Broussard it’s baseball getting in its own way again
Rob parker was prolly texting during the game.
Oldest TikTok brained dude OAT
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Analytics have ruined sports especially baseball. We will never see no hitters anymore
Its pencil necks misinterpreting analytics thats the problem. Take Nick Wright, Chris' buddy on FTF: Nick should never be allowed to make predictions or decisions or have opinions on anything. He should just crunch numbers and hand them over to someone capable of understanding nuances within the Matrix.
@@robertadams305he's just a mouthpiece, he doesn't know anything about sports. He's a Klutch Sports guy put out there to talk up LeBron, nothing else
@@robertadams305 Why are you citing a dude whose primary job is entertainment?
I get if you don't like him, but the dude's very good at what he does. His job isn't about being correct all the time.
And the nonsensical unwritten rules, the turd umpires, its inability to update rules, trying to keep the “traditions” of the old game, blah blah blah… baseball blows, until the playoffs. Then it’s pretty exciting. 😂
No-hitters are irrelevant. Only winning games are important.
At lsu paul threw multiple games of 140 plus pitches and was still throwing 100 his last few pitches
Nolan Ryan picthed for like 30 years and never had Tommy john
What an absolute GOAT 👑
It's almost more impressive that he never had any leg issues with that high kick windup he had. Most people couldnt do that for a few innings.
💉 💉
“With the quickness !” Lol
That's an old 80s reference . The old Confunksion lead singer had a song called with the quickness. Great song
To deny the fans an opportunity to witness history just defeats the purpose of the league.
Maybe there’s hope if Manfred steps in like he did with the rule changes
I thought the purpose was to win?
@@DMcnabb5 Exactly. Nobody remembers no-hitters because they don't matter. Just an individual accolade. All that matters is winning.
@@DMcnabb5you’re dumber than a rock then. The purpose is to ENTERTAIN first and foremost. You have to be under 30 years old with a douchey remark like that though so it doesn’t really matter anyway. Your generation is FUBAR.
“Let the managers and players decide. NOT THE GEEKS WITH PENCIL PROTECTORS 🤓 💻”
LMAOOOO
Typical Baseball.
Paul skenes is unbelievable
Most likely gonna be the best Pirate pitcher in franchise history. Hope they don’t let him go like they did Gerrit Cole.
He’s only gonna be “the best pitcher in franchise history” because he’s playing in the absolute worst era of hitting ever in the history of MLB.
Perhaps, but specialty relief pitching makes it harder too.
That mf gonna get paid
Perfect professional league to be in to, big time contracts.
in like.... 5+ years lol. baseball has big contracts but the start of careers are robbed. you're under control for many years then have to fight through arbitration and are near 30 by the time you get a true FA deal.
Skenes, Langford, and a few other rookies have been incredible the last month or 2.
Ben Rice, Andy Pages
99 pitches.. he's gotta come out. It's not worth the risk. Period, end of story.
NOT END OF STORY BUT JUST BEGINNING OF STORY!
Thank you for talking baseball.
Not surprised by the Pittsburgh Pirates pulling pitcher Paul Skenes typical who doesn't try improve the team.
…Let’s call it like it is…Skenes is Gutless…
The problem is that the no-hitter is becoming an endangered species. We could end up getting to a point where we may never see a no-hitter again. Fans are not going to like that.
A no hitter isn’t as important as a perfect game. Guys who throw that hard have a short shelf life. But all the sabotaging of history is a joke
Neither is important. Only winning games is important.
What bugs me is they’re not pulling guys to win the game - they’re pulling them to protect their arms. That violates the spirit of competition we demand as fans.
Not really. However, they are pulling pitchers in some crazy spots. It seems like pitchers in the early octs threw complete games and they didn’t get hurt as much.
Livvy Dunne gonna give him lots of comfort to make up for this
Baseball is so soft now
LeBroussard
He was at 99 pitches, chill
Do ppl realize this is the SECOND TIME Skenes has been pulled from a no-no this year? That's so wrong.
That’s a joke.
That no hitter would be the greatest Pittsburgh Pirates moment in this century 😂😂😂
As a cubs fan, he reminds me so much of wood it’s stupid!!
And what happened to him?
That tells you he's going to be traded one day soon. They don't want the fans to get too attached. 💯
Managers don't have much say in baseball upper management tells them what to do
Mickey Lolich pitched three complete games in the 1968 World Series. It’s not the number of pitches, it’s the spin rate and over reliance on fast balls.
Complete games are only only important if you win.
Nolan was different though.
great rant
I woulda told him "you got till 120, so you better go after these guys" cause i think his future is worth more then a no hitter in his rookie year
Absolutely
Haha, these two just don't get it. He had 99 pitches, most pitchers would have been pulled in that situation. There is no reason to risk injury especially with a rookie in a meaningless game in July.
Lmao he’s going to get hurt whether he throws 100 pitches or 50 pitches. He throws max effort on every pitch. So he’s going to hurt eventually and you missed a special moment. Like Broussard said it’s baseball getting in its own way.
“He looked tired?” Why didn’t they just ask him?
The pitchers are better, they are throwing with more spin and more unhittable so they cant go that long in the start
They clearly arent any more unhittable than theyve ever been as people are hitting them. It's not like this was the first 7 innings without a hit before.
@@poocrayon4588 no but the hitters are also better
@@godusopp2752 nah, that's what they want you to think. If anything hitters were better in the 90's when they were roiding like mofos
Analytics is a disease.
Baseball is just weird so the team has to complete the no hitter for the whole game for a pitcher to get the individual accolade?
What does baseball is trying to protect the old Legends and not have them replace with young Stars doing great things just a thought
Go ahead and keep him out there. He can be the next Dontrelle Willis, Mark Prior, or Tim Lincecum
IM AT MY WITS END
i will never root for the pirates i was watching the game and was pissed
Nah, close but the stars did not align here
Broussard actually talking on something other LeBron james
I definitely thought he was gone go for the no hitter when he had no hits thru 6 and he played in the 7th . He has a good chance of getting that no hitter. Skenes the truth
So as they pulled Skenes, I knew what was about to happen
3rd segment of baseball in short order lol CB only cut Rob off once in the second segment lol
Got two words for ya: Kerry Wood
skines... 🤔
Rob had the +1400 no hitter 😂
Am I the only one Dead Ass tired of...
Chris "Stephen A. Smith voice" Broussard yelling for no Damn REASON!!!.
Would you just talk in a normal voice PLEASE!!!!
It makes your pandering takes even more insufferable...smh
His average fastball isn’t 100 MPH Chris. Stop always catering to zoomers. They’re not going to give you any props either way old man. Today’s MLB radar guns are showing readings that are juiced AF. His average fastball is probably 95 if measured by conventional radar methods from as early as 20 years ago. Which is still exceptional but not unheard of in the slightest.
I watched the whole game, the Brewers had some great at bats fouling off 100mph pitches and ran his pitch count up, if he needed 3 more outs then you send him back out there for the no no but he needed 6 more outs and was at 99 pitches, you don't risk ruining a young arm for a no hitter, it's Skenes 11th start he will have plenty of more chances to get the no hitter
Legends are made by these kind of accolades - especially early.
God players today are so soft. If pitching one complete game is going to ruin your career that says more about you than anything else. Besides he throws max effort on every pitch. He’s going to get hurt eventually no matter how much kid gloves you wear
And this is one of many reasons why the youth doesn’t watch this bullshit
Who is Paul Skenes?
New Pirates pitcher. Pretty damn good fr
@@BoskoShabazzhes lowkey kinda cute
I’m a casual.. What does ERA stand for?

No he wouldn't
Rob would never say that about pitxhing. He hates analytics.
Nobody would care if there was a no-hitter except maybe Skenes and his grandma.
