"I feel myself attached to these railroad track." I cannot describe how much I love that line...
Still listening. One of my ALL TIME faves.
Listened to this song on repeat after my breakup. Such a sad, but beautiful song!
powerful ... goes straight through to the heart and Soul
jesus this setting is beautiful! i wanna be there right nowww
Damn, these girls have perfect American accents. I was shocked to find out they were Swedish and never lived in the States.
We certainly are. Thanks for watching and taking part x
These girls are enthralling!
Young girls with beautiful old souls... :) LOVE IT!
There's one beautiful voice, and another one, and those together I forget all about beauty and only feel love.
PLaying guitar and sitting in nature feels so much better.
4:20 to the end...absolute chills! So beautiful and bittersweet. I adore these young ladies. Go see them in concert, the songs have so much more power live.
mahogany sessions is everyones best friend.
i love when johanna sings, it's like i can feel her emotions in her singing.
The Pierces and First Aid Kit, my two favourite at the Mahogany Sessions...no doubt the ones in charge have a terrific taste in music, well done!
this is pure beauty
beautiful and haunting.
Such a beautiful song
This is total soul first aid.
great song, this version is arguably better than the studio version.
This is much better than the studio recording.
love your music ,you girls rock, love your music
I bawled.
You've got chills during the whole song ^^.
I love the one in blue dress so much
I remember watching them years ago covering fleet foxes. Still amazing
This song is powerfull
BEAUTIFUL
Actually I think the wind on the boomy mike lends it a great outdoors atmosphere to fit the rugged mournefulness of the song ..... (it's not a studio recording). GREAT !!
i love the sound of that guitar
I'm always watching...
this is seriously the best cover on youtube
The 2010th modern version of Everly Brothers unison singing style is from Sweden great :)
They do so good music that people thinks they do covers sometimes :-)!!
And when they do covers they beat the orginal !
They are so good at writting songs that i didnt belive they wrote it with 15-20 years. SUCH A TALENT
this is the best song of the year no "one of"
can't get any better then this
they are the best duo from sweden ever!!! jag älskar dom!! :D
- Essa acaba comigo😭
i'm aware of that, sherlock, what you don't understand is that film makers sometimes INTENTIONALLY forego a windcover because the "distortion of the wind hitting the mic" can DELIBERATELY be used for it's ambient value. it DOES have value when the wind is light + the vocals and performance project enough to drown the wind out + when circumstantially, the background ambience is not loud enough to warrant any filters and/or a filter's value renders the ambience near to nonexistent.
amazing harmonies
And this is the way to do a music video!!!! Cost nothing. And it´s live!!!
they're amaziiing
Beautiful!!!!
Blimey!
lovely-heartfelt
1:08 is when you'll get chills
beautiful sounds.
this is so beautiful
lovely! Nice one ladies! Cheers!
Vey nice !
yes!!!!!!!! :D
Beautiful. ♥
Amazing voice
That was better than anything Taylor Swift ever sang. Thank you. Your newest fan.
All of these ghost towns
I keep traveling through
All of these traffic signs
And lonesome bars
Blindsiding me to you and
I swear I can be better
I could be more to you
But there are things
That lie in my path
That I just have to do
If you've got visions of the past
Let them follow you down
And they'll come back to you someday
And I found myself attached
To this railroad track
But I'll come back to you someday
To you, to you, to you someday
And I remember how you told me
All that you wanted to do
The dream of Paris in the morning
Or a New York window view
And I can see it now you're married
And your wife is with a child
And you're all laughing in the garden
And I'm lost somewhere in your mind
If you've got visions of the past
Let them follow you down
For they'll come back to you someday
And I found myself attached
To this railroad track
But I'll come back to you someday
To you, to you, to you someday
Maybe I should just turn around
And walk away
For no matter how much I really do
Want to stay
You know I can't
No it's too late
For I've found myself attached
To this railroad track
But I'll come back to you someday
To you, to you, to you someday
The singer has the look and sings like Melanie Safka.
great singing!
Very good live recording
very jonie esque, so nice
excellent!
@karumi17 No you just have a heart and soul i am a guy also and i appreciate the fact that they are good enough to sing live and not suck
excellent
@karumi17 no. its called having good taste in music
I don't think you get the purpose of a wind sock. Using a wind sock would still allow the background ambience to be heard, including the birds and the wind. It doesn't remove any of the ambient sound, just the distortion of air hitting a microphone. Why don't we just keep the artists out of focus the whole time or maybe let the audio clip constantly while we're at it. That'll make it sound more spontaneous, right?
@SlappaDaBass18
And many British singers seem to suddenly aquire an American accent too!
i'd guess it was filmed with the wind intentionally. it's a little thing we call ambience. it compliments the performance because their voices project enough to allow it.
@mapsofwar
So true. These two girls don't need anything else.
@KairiElla Totally and super amazing.
This was before Jack White...will always prefer this sound!
@Rapaglia1 hahahahhaha no se me había ocurrido, pero yo también!
i love you
@jesusisbatman
In the 70-s and 80-s when i grew up country music was not uncommon at home so even i (old dude compared) have an country accent...
My girlfriend are mongolian! And shes a great woman!! Love her mutch :)!
@Darryld1 That's if you think life's about occupying one body, a one time experience. I doubt that strongly, most genius people get their inspiration of somewhere. And who says they cannot have attained this experience themselves? Hasn't been the first time a young girl falls in love with an adult (teacher...)
Is this filmed intentionally blurred?
i lovee that song and you are pretty 8)
They were at lounge?! whaaaaaaaaaaat
How was the effect of things going in and out of focus created ?
It's called pull focus or rack focus, and basically you choose what you want to be sharp in your frame, and manually change focus with camera lens. Or you can immitate it with software like Adobe After Effects after the shoot. So yeah, just lens focus, but looks pretty cool.
Hi, I'm an artist looking to do some recordings outside. I wanted to ask you how to record outside without hearing ambient noise and listening to the instruments and voice so clearly? It would be really appreciated if you could tell me.
I'm in love with you both. Jessayin.
@Ohwowabanana It's pretty much just Fmaj7, C, G and Am the whole way through :) just play around with it ;)
@jesusisbatman
Me, I'm astonished because in my Swedish ears they sound almost American!
Maybe they've been in USA a lot during their upbringing..
The new Hazel and Alice...
@jesusisbatman It is odd, but I'm not surprised at all
Wind ambience is one thing. The sound of wind hitting a microphone is a completely different thing, and is never acceptable. That's like saying singing sounds better without a pop filter
Does anyone know what guitar she's using?
+Danielle Cozine It's a Levin, not sure which model though.
(for poker player) it s a copy of annette obrestad on the left
@jesusisbatman I was just thinking the same thing.
Its a festival and hec..why not be at one with nature whilst making music which in turn is one of the most natural beautiful things us humans can do....
i think you're missing the point. this isn't a big production, the venue was chosen in spontaneity for it's natural appeal. so it's feasible that they'd want the ambience of the wind, the birds in the background, all the sounds of the venue behind the song and yes, wind hammering the boom mic. it's a dash of salt on your dinner, it's the sun's sparkle on the sea, it's the snow coating a tree. why omit it, so it sounds like a studio recording? defeats the purpose of the venue.
Love this song, but the audio quality (wind noise, off mic gain changes) is not even close to their caliber. I'm surprised they let this get published.
Gotta say I'm with this guy, I love the Mahogany vids, and this was a great performance, but a wind sock would have improved the audio on this tenfold...especially if you're listening on proper speakers...constant bassy distortion is so irritating!
I want her voice to have my babies....
Hahahahahahaha, are you really saying I have no originality for using a wind sock? This is hilarious. Let's intentionally emphasize the flaws of the equipment we're using because it makes things more indie
The girl on the left reminds me of Hank Moody's daughter Becca...
Well then that's just too bad. Everybody who doesn't have a wind sock is sentenced to death. Oh wait, it's not that serious bro. good day.
check out Jamie Sly...I like his stuff
what's with the focus on these vids
