For anyone who is confused about what's happening in the video, there is a "sport" where men release a fox into some woods, and send dogs in after it to track it down, and the men find the fox and kill it, after it ran for its life. It's actually a really powerful video
***** This is actually the people who want that kind of colonial attitude back. It was banned by the same government that oversaw the end of the Empire in 1998 (yeah it ended that late)
I wrote you a letter Asked your best friend to send it But took to the sea before you could have read it Retreated to snowcapped waters of the unknown Extracted my heart while it was still beating But glowing and red And I swear that sweat would Envelop your arms if you broke down and held it I swear I'm a good man So why don't you love me back? Instead of twisting up words you just sat there in silence In wind burnt homes sighing rays from a sunset And all I could hear was the sound of the wasp nest My head made a home for the hum of the insects But my hands shake and shudder at the mention Of half hearted reasons why we'll only be friends
The lead singer reminds me of a weird school teacher who's normal for the first couple months, and then one day he looses his shit and goes berserk on the entire classroom.
+Darkway Prive It would be cool if women worked that way, but they don't. Hollywood love stories sell us lies. In reality, a woman who rejected the songwriter would think this is needy and slightly creepy. Good song, though.
I'd have to agree. I mean, imagine if you were in her shoes and your ex wrote this song and is screaming WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME BACK. You'd think he was crazy.
A woman should run as far away from this stunted boy man as possible after this is what you meant to write, right? Vulnerability is not an entitlement to affection and this is creepy.
The emotion they portray in the music. My god. Nothing but feels from this track...Going to see them in Chicago with Knuckle Puck and Modern Baseball. I fell in love with this band just a few hours ago..
i saw them all on tuesday in pittsburgh. the lead singer of this band was literally on the verge of crying. i hadn't heard of them until tuesday. that show was unbelievable! you'll enjoy it, i'm certain of this! I wasn't too big of a fan of somos though. have fun!! :)
I was just at their Buffalo date last night and I didn't know these guys were playing, I had never heard of these guys before but after the show they put on they're one of my favorites now. They're literally so good, everyone was but these guys just had such amazing energy and passion. It was literally the coolest thing ever.
Michelle Diaconu Im so flipping excited! These guys might be my headliners haha. Ive heard nothing but good things about the show. Somos and Crying arent exactly my style but hey, I love music.
Nothing is better than seeing old friends follow their dreams and become an inspiration to others. I listen to this and it makes me happy. Well done gentleman.
They played this song live when I saw them a couple weeks back and it was one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen from a band. The lead singer, Connor, crowdsurfed with his trumpet, I cried a little haha.
Since the last time I saw them live in December and from when I saw the most recently they've improved their stage performance so much. They were amazing then, they're even better now.
Wow... Absolutely gorgeous... This video was shot wonderfully, and the contrast of content between the band performing and the children is stunning... Really top notch guys, does one of the most intense songs from my favourite album this year justice. Keep doing what you're doing!
Two weeks I didn't really know how to speak or type about this song or album, but it made its mark. I love so many CYLS bands. I am planning a big purchase soon again.

This song is probably my favorite song ever (even though its a few years old). I really really really enjoy these guys. Someone please let me meet Conor Murphy. And Conor, if you're reading this, keep up the good work man and I love you!!!
I saw these guys live at Wicker Park Fest in Chicago just the other day. I had never heard of them before that and they were really really great. They play with such heart and passion live and it's really a good show to see. I can see these guys going far in the future. :)
Heaven Rowand So did I! That's wchat with him for a bit too.hy i looked them up, they are an amazing band. I got to meet the vocalist and chat with him.
Im sad they canceled their tour with into it. Over it. And kitty hawk but this tour with brandnew will give them some more fans. Which is awesome for them
Damn. There was a band from Minneapolis in 2001, 2002 that did this exact thing. A whisper in the noise. Vocalist guy moved to Europe and is still making music under that moniker last I checked.
I've been talking to this beautiful great girl and she told me about this song and was like, "he's saying why won't you love me back and it's so sad isn't it?" And I just simply agreed and I don't know how things are between us but I come back to this song often and just sit and think about her and how much I like her
Saw these guys last night in a basement in Milwaukee. I have a feeling in a couple years they're gonna be huge and that'll be a funny anecdote to tell people.
I've listened to this album since november nonstop because my radio is stuck on cd mode & I never saw a reason to change CDs. To this day this music video still fucking rekts me. I hope to see this band go far, & I am extremely happy I was able to see them spite all of their shit getting stolen not too long ago. Believe in these guys, this music video & the one for the midic are astounding.
It's funny, since writing this I've absolutely fallen in love with the album. I read a review describing it as "prickly", and I think that's what makes it an acquired taste. Seriously though, The Albatross is one of the most emotionally charged recent albums I've heard and is absolutely brilliant.

That's disgusting, how is that considered a sport?!
1: lie down
2: try not to cry
3: cry
I don't think he's asking her why she doesn't love him, but is instead using that line to question what is wrong with him
Stephen Mason who's he?

No seriously though, this song is so sad
Stephen Mason “I swear I’m a good man”... love this comment. I agree. This song is beautiful. Listening 2 years later lol

The song is about his best friend, a guy.
I was never even in a relationship, but now I fucking miss her... it's been a year...

wow, this song is painfully beautiful.

The craziest thing, I saw them for my birthday and this was uploaded on my birthday..
The goosebumps that raise the peach fuzz on your face and then travel down your body to your knees, it’s like a cleansing.
The emotion in every song he sings is so powerful, but this one really hits home and makes me want to shout every word with him. Super sick song.

God I love all but the part when he does the high note is soo good, bro I'm in love with this.
Heard this band for the first time when they opened for Brand New on Monday in Asheville. Awesome show.

Gonna see them with tigers jaw in a month, I haven't listened to a single song of them till this but I already love it. It gave me chills right away

From my top 10 albums of last year. It still holds up well. I know it got reissued this year on another label. Definitely worth seeking out.
