This is so interesting. My grandpa was a naval, mixed air scuba certified instructor so he raised me with a great interest in ocean/marine biology. I remember being a little kid doing the "sting ray shuffle" (not really lifting your feet in the water so you don't inadvertently step on a ray in S. Florida early spring time). I never realized that they were so aggressive when they mate. Thanks for the interesting footage & explanation of what they were doing. You've added another new subscriber to your list!!

Question. Why don't you put sand in the tanks? Wouldn't sand be good for the rays?
I'm trying to keep the tanks as clean as possible. Sand is not practical in a breeding facility setup
