Thank you Froogle Pete!! Using that, as a guide, I have got the latest Logitech "improved" Switch panel and the equally "improved" Software working on FSX-SE.
Logitech are singularly unhelpful on their website, I have spent several days researching, writing unanswered letters getting nowhere, UNTIL!!!
I remembered YOU.
Logitech is using their own handlers and assignments for the Switch Panel, I can live with that, I would MUCH prefer to use FSUIPC, but needs must when the devil drives!!

After a week, I am quite used to the Switch panel, and have started reassigning the switches on the two thottle quadrants to other things. The Mag/start switch works on any twin, but wouldnt start a DC6 engines. More testing on 4 engined stuff.
Dropping the LogiFlightSimX.exe directly into the XP-11 plugins folder works nicely.

Froogle I recommend totally removing the Saitek drivers and just use the SPAD drivers then use Linda for configuring the switches and knobs. It work well for advance aircraft addons like PMDG, Coolsky and Aerosoft.

Hi ,thank you again for your most professional vids. Sadly for me this one did not work (I am sure it is my issue as it works for everyone else). I added what you added to the FSX SE folder as you clearly showed. Not only did it not work my panels in STEAM but also stopped them working in classic FSX.
I will keep playing but may come back with more queries. Keep up the great work.

This worked to get my Saitek Instrument panel working, but my switch panel is not working. However the ignition switch works. No lights, power, etc. I tested it. Works fine. Worked with original fsx.
I'm using FSX-steam. I have installed FSUIPC and that is now worthless. Wasn't before. When I calibrate throttle, or mixture it gives 2 settings: almost completely in or almost completely out. nothing outside or in between. Seems to treat it like a button. I did not have this problem before in FSX boxed. This is 4.393u version.

Not sure if you're aware but OrbX have finally release updated OrbX libraries so that FSX-SE & Prepar3d are now supported. No more ObjectFlow.dll errors.
I've tested it in FSX-SE and it works like a charm. Now just awaiting the ASN update.
is there a version of this, or something like this that is more up to date. At approx 4:30 it suggests editing exe.xml in appdata. No such file exists in my new installation.
Alternatively for complex aircraft, one might benefit from using the profile editor to bind switches and buttons to key mappings as a work around. It's not perfect and I've had mixed results, but I bet someone with a bit more knowledge and a lot more patience than I could make it all work.

Are there any addons on this site that feature FULLY CONTROLLABLE panels for commercial jets in MS FSX 10? i.e. All buttons functional on the main, side, and overhead panels? Please advise. Thank you
Apologies Froogle, re my question below about no exe file in prepar 3D well I simply copied the complete folder exe file from my FSX exe file and pasted it into App Data>Roaming>Lockheed Martin>Prepar 3D and Bingo all my panels are working and I have now got an exe folder in Prepar 3D. Just made a test flight in Prepar 3D and everything seems to be working.
After trying almost everything I came across this video. Great! Worked like a charm and thank you

You can also do 'Windowskey+R' then type '%appdata% to get there also

My FSX and FSX steam Edtition have the exec. file. However, my PrePar3d does not have this file. Anyone can help me?

Thank you very much for your video. I have decided to move lock stock and barrel from FSX to FSX SE. Thanks to your video, I now have my panels working perfectly, Thanks too, to another of your videos, I now know the benefits of registering FSUIPC which I will be doing this week. :)
Are you aware if there is a similar work around to getting the Saitek BIP panel working in FSX SE? I tried using the same process as the other panels but to no avail. Many thanks for your time and efforts. :)

I've already follow your steps and my multi-panel is running OK, the only thing is that the small screen that shows the VS, HDG, Etc, does not light while I'm using the panel. Could go tell me what is going on?
Saitek radio panels are very laggy even after the MS update to new version of 2020. The panels work great in X-Plane, i'm using LORBY to connect to the panels. I don't see any driver programs loaded on my PC with the description of "Sai....." or "Log....." in add/remove programs or in Task-Manager , so i don't know how it's working in x-plane but it must just be a plug-in only ..... So, LORBY could be the cause you think, or what? Thanks for any suggestions!!! When I say Laggy, If i turn one of the silver dials the radio display (LED) takes a few seconds to even move and sometimes doesn't move at all. Somethings very weird. Like i said, X-PLANE 11 is just perfect and dials respond nicely.
Plz if you know how to get them work with Aerosoft a320/19/18 I would appreciate that. I tried SPAD but didn't work hopefully we see a video from you about that as soon as possible :)

Froogle! sorry for hijacking a video about something completely different. But i wonder if you have tried OpusFSI in prepar3d. The newer updates of Opus and using it in Prepar3d looks just fantastic, also since i had alot of problems with ezdok in p3d i have alot of use of the cameras in opus, also the turbulence effects from those cameras are amazing, mostly since they dont just shake around all the time but reacts to turbulence inserted by the weather engine. Don't know why i ramble on about this but im just interested in your take on it, and if you haven't tried it lately you should!
Also, i love your videos, they got me in to Flightsims 2 years ago and i love it.

Sorry but I won't touch Opus with a barge pole. Long story I'm not going into. If you are happy with it, then that's awesome. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone else though to look at alternate products such as ActiveSky Next, or FSGlobalRealWeather or even default.

When I followed this, my gear lever is now working but none of the switches themselves are working (fuel, lights,etc) on any default or add on aircraft.

I have the switch panel and it just worked for me in P3Dv2.4 without any editing of the xml file... Wasn't I lucky!

I have a Saitek Switch Panel and when I use it on the FSX, everything runs smoothly except Magnetos switches ... I can't set up the machine by turning the switch and the display switch is not the same as the position I did, can you help me?
Very good and imformative video. The file renaming stopped the error pop up message, which is great. I am still having problems with getting my Saitek switch panel to work, though. I do not have FSX installed, and am running a clean install of P2D version 2.5 on Windows 8.1 . The panel tests out fine using the testing program. I have reinstalled the drivers multiple times and am running all programs as administrator. I have tried using the exe.xml file as you nicely demonstrated, and also loading the saipanels.exe manually. I have GoFlight modules working very well and many other Saitek products like yoke, TPM, pedals, trim wheel. Only the Switch panel is not working. Any thoughts, anyone?

Hello Froogle I have a problem and just wondering if you had the same my Saitek Multi Panel LCD is not working but everything else work find just the LDC panel does not light up and no numbers show up I had window 7 and never had this problem so I upgrade to window 8.1 and everything work find except my Multi panel LCD don't light up so if you had this and found the fix can you help a FSX simmer or make a video so any of us out there are going through this we can fix this or a link to were it can be fix thank you

No, as I said in the video, many complex aircraft use custom programming that is not compatible with the Saitek panels.
Do u need simconnect to connect it to normal FSX ?
Does anyone know the link in which he got the drivers. I can't find any drivers that work with my panel. I downloaded a link for madcats but it didn't have the Xsaipanels folder, only the multipanel, Switch panel and Radio Panel.
I have FSX SE, as well as FSX. In the Roaming directory for FSX SE, there is no "exe.xml" file. I'm running on Windows 8
Sorry, just found out. *Dovetail has released an update changelog which addresses the issue with auto generated exe.xml and DLL.xml files not being in the roaming directory, with the original FSX already installed. Just copy it from your original FSX directory and you should be good 2 go!*

hey man, its seems to be partially working, the knobs and the button responds to the game, but not for the pitch trim! also nothing shows on the panel's screens, just a blank orange backlight! im using FSX steam edition on a 74 bit windows 8.1 system.. any suggestions i can get?

Hi froogle, i know you work with saitek alot and i was just wobdering is it posdible that saitek will make their panel drivets conpatible with pmdg and other addon aircraft? I am one of many people who struggle to get them to work
Krei23 It's not really a Saitek thing to make them compatible. The aircraft that have problems use custom program that in many instance bypasses the default FSX way of doing things. The panels on the other hand work with the default and standard FSX way of doing things. You can work around the problem by installing SPAD drivers - these are custom third party drivers that offer you a level of programmability on the panels enabling you to tweak their operation to work with trickier aircraft.

+William Yew You mean EXE.xml . You'll need to make it yourself if it's not there. You can see in this video what the content looks like.

But I returned it and got a refund, Logitech is one of the worst customer service ever, they are losing customers after they bought the flight sim set from Saitek!
