  • In today's video, we take you with us over to Tutuban Market in Manila Philippines. Upon arrival, we test out a few snacks and then a bunch of types of lemonades. After that, we head inside the mall and get a new pair of sunglasses and then a custom made hat from an honest tailor. In todays video it’s me and my friend ‪@YadVenturess‬

    Some very basic and common words for showing respect are "po and opo". They both basically mean “yes” in a respectful way but used differently in sentences. Po is interjected in any sentence to make it respectful when talking to someone older or to a person or even to a kid. no gender, no age matters 😊

  • @Zxc23984
    @Zxc23984 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    Filipinos use po and opo to show respect. For example "salamat po", "okay lang po", "kamusta ka po" and we use "oo" when we agree to something, "opo" when you want to say it politely. Another great video brother! ♥

    Thanks for being so good to the Filipinos, for helping them! Adding "po" is to show respect to those who are older than you &/or someone with authority (not really necessary in a statement). If there are those who don't greet you back or reply, it's only bec. Filipinos are generally shy, not that they are ignoring you.

    Damn, Jonah's work is fire! I was wondering if there was a stencil of some sort! I used to see this a lot when I was younger since garments is one of the industries in my hometown. Hence, the name of Garments and Woodworks Capital of the Philippines and embroidery is part of it. Brought back how in awe I was growing up as a kid seeing my grandma's people do this way back!

    YadVentures Asked the Girl in Marugame Udon the meaning of "po". Because she said, "Thank you po". It is commonly used by Filipinos to sound polite. When speaking to an elderly, a boss, or someone you just met, it is usually added at the end or middle of a sentence. Like "Salamat po", "Kamusta po kayo" (polite way of saying "how are you"). "Tapos na po ako" (I'm done). "Kumain na po ako" (I already ate)... "Magkano po" (how much), "para po" (please stop the vehicle). Happy to help.🙂

    Hey Mac I’ve seen all your videos so far and yes your very kind and generous and also very funny but kind a film a little bit longer when you give tip to the workers it brings joy to a lot of people when they see workers reaction when they get tips especially big tips because a lot of them don’t get tipped all the time especially big tip,I think it brings smiles to your viewers when they see the workers reaction because we Filipinos know that tip means a lot to them because most workers there in that kind of market place only makes minimum pay a little less than 500 pesos $10 a day if not less 🇵🇭

    That hat work looks super cool! On a side note I've heard that a tourist from New Zealand was shot dead in an attempt of robbery in the Philippines and in a place you've already visited. I hope you mac stay safe wherever you travel and be extra cautious because I realised sometimes you walk through many of the places,that are considered dangerous,alone at night while we do enjoy seeing you discover new places,nothing is worth risking your safety and wellbeing. Maybe consider having a trusted person to accompany you in every country you visit too!

    • @axizcorp
      @axizcorp ปีที่แล้ว

      He was playing hero trying to fight off the robbers, her gf was the victim and he fought back that's why he died. Mugging happens to everyone, even to locals not just foreigners. It happened in Makati, usually it happens along gil puyat and pasong tamo. Stay low profile in these areas. Don't show off your expensive gadgets or jewelry.

    • @asmalaysi9687
      @asmalaysi9687 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fact that they attacked his girlfriend is even worse and ofcourse he will try to protect her anyway I was trying to tell mac he needs to be cautious in his next travels because sometimes his love for exploring makes him forget about how dangerous some areas can be especially at night and crimes like that can happen anywhere in the world and to ANYONE not just in the Philippines. Nothing against you guys,the world is crazy enough and he needs to be aware.

I am connected to date with my folks and friends in my interior town because of my parents' properties. So I know firsthand about PI life even now and still take vacations from time to time. Food is just so cheap there its so ridiculous. Enjoy while you can. Even cheaper in my province by a leap compared to where you are right now.

    Hi. New subscriber here. Welcome to the Philippines. Have fun and enjoy your stay. Just be careful with your camera and other gadgets and personal belongings when you're out. There are a lot of pickpockets/snatchers around esp in Divisoria/ Manila area. Take care always.

    I'm honestly blown away by this kid freehanding the stitching. 21:45
    When he was setting it up, I was thinking this sewing machine/stitcher was pretty old to be computerized. Then he started stitching..
    Just fyi.. it's thread not yarn
    Great talent!
    Love the videos! Keep up the great content!

    That statue at the beginning is of Andres Bonifacio, one of the main heroes of the Philippine revolution against Spain at the end of the 19th century. He would have been the national hero but the American occupiers selected Jose Rizal instead because Rizal was seen as a less threatening figure being an intellectual type who fought the Spaniards through the use of his pen instead of a militant type who actually fought on the battlefield. Sadly Bonifacio was murdered by a fellow Filipino revolutionary named General Aguinaldo who wanted all the glory for himself.

    So many good finds but on a cheaper price. Mall quality but the price is much lower than the ones you get in the mall. There are also many food along the area that you can try. Authentic Filipino street food! The best!
