beginning - 1.32 is bland street bloom 1.32- 2.38 is part of the friction 2.38- 4.18 is sanguine seas of bigotry 4.18- 5.40 is flogging the horses 5.40- 8.00 is scent of the obscene 8.00- end is skies of the millenium night they are incredible!!!!
Omg. How has this video evaded me for so long. These guys are so tight. It's amazing. Seeing the two of them rock it out makes me feel much more confident about justin and mikey bailing on the band. Can't wait for the 3rd album... hope it blows away the previous two...if thats even possible.
unfortunately they're not getting back together, well anytime soon. pins my guitar tutor he said they've all gone into production, mikey, dan, jas, leech, ford i think is doing a lot of shows around from drum tech and the institute, pin has another band 'within the void'
the arusha accord actually insane, especially in terms of musicianship. ridiculously technical, theyre alot like sikth but less crazy vocals and more clean sections
Is there anyway we could get the full length of this performance uploaded or available somewhere on the internet? Some of us want to genuinely learn from these two.
Their Tuning Is Half a Step down but then the heaviest string is tuned an octave down from the next. That is their main tuning. Other than that they use drop D#.
These guys are ridiculously good. Can't wait for the next album..... Anyone got any recent news on the vocalist hunt. PM me so I can get impatient. ^_^
i think they have a singer. i have a feeling theyre gonna turn absolutely brutal. lets hope so!!! theyre writing now and theyre gonna be recording around april
They play Bland Street Bloom, then something wicked cool. Then Sanguine Seas of Bigotry and Flogging the Horses. What do they play second, right after BSB with the sick tapping?
They are Blackmachine guitars...and if you want one place your order now! 2009 is filled up and I feel 2010 will be soon too...they are really exclusive!
Yeah, thats what I meant. Just a bad description. I just had a look at guitar strings, and the only SETS I could find that had a .060 gauge string, were 7-string packs. I have a .056 on my low E and I find that too floppy for just C. It'd be easier having a 7-string :P
What, so all songs are C*G*C*F*A*D* apart from the ones you mentioned which have a low G*? How the fuck to they get the tension on the lower string? What gauge is it? It has to be from a 7-string set.
dan bites his bottom lip when he plays. genuine indication that playing it is, surprisingly, more fun than listening to it. if you can imagine. I miss sikth.
thats not entirely fair... the standard guitarist wants to take note of wot players like ritchie blackmore hendrix and page did and stuff like that... i mean i love sikth and these guitarist are awesome! but i dont think they rely raised the bar of guitar playing either... people like dave mustaine, yngwie malmsteen and jason becker cud kinda own these guys
Just my opinion, but anything else they have going on as separate entities is worthless compared to the awesomeness that was Sikth. They are all talented musicians/artists and they are wasting it by doing other things. I hope I didn't step on any toes.
one of the most creative and original bands i've ever heard, death of a dead day is what a perfect album sounds like
beginning - 1.32 is bland street bloom
1.32- 2.38 is part of the friction
2.38- 4.18 is sanguine seas of bigotry
4.18- 5.40 is flogging the horses
5.40- 8.00 is scent of the obscene
8.00- end is skies of the millenium night
they are incredible!!!!

Two of the best guitarists around! Lovely guys to. :-)
Love that part at about 5:50, it really shows that they know alot more than just thrashing and shredding riffs!
I was the same way, I got into them after I heard they were PTH's main influence, and like Sikth, I had to get an aquired taste for PTH too haha
amazing riffs and playing
man those guys are sick guitarists
simply gods
unfortunately they're not getting back together, well anytime soon. pins my guitar tutor he said they've all gone into production, mikey, dan, jas, leech, ford i think is doing a lot of shows around from drum tech and the institute, pin has another band 'within the void'
My personal favourite...Part of the friction.
Indeed, and what a song it is
8:17 favorite moment in sikth's catalogue
amazing.....
the part after bland street bloom is called part of the fiction, its off of death of a dead day. sikth are amazing
blody great guitarists i hope i can see em live sometime! malefice kick ass too! saw em live wen they came to malta last summer had a great time!
And very exclusive too.
In fact, you can't currently place an order until 2010.
Amazing! Top class Musicans for real!!!!
They're in Drop C#
Best duo EVAR!!!
they are going in my dream band line up XD
Superb vid!
the best!
Codynn, after Bland Street Bloom they play Part of the Friction. Purjozer, at 5:50 they play Scent of the Obscene.
part of the friction is my favourite sikth song
the arusha accord
actually insane, especially in terms of musicianship. ridiculously technical, theyre alot like sikth but less crazy vocals and more clean sections
Is there anyway we could get the full length of this performance uploaded or available somewhere on the internet? Some of us want to genuinely learn from these two.
Anyone know if there's a full length video of this anywhere?
Love Sikth. Any suggestions on other bands that would be fun to check out?
it is indeed
Their Tuning Is Half a Step down but then the heaviest string is tuned an octave down from the next. That is their main tuning. Other than that they use drop D#.
that riff at 2:18
musical bliss
absolutely great
These guys are ridiculously good.
Can't wait for the next album.....

uhhhhhhhhhh I wish they didnt break up and could give me there skills
i think they have a singer. i have a feeling theyre gonna turn absolutely brutal. lets hope so!!! theyre writing now and theyre gonna be recording around april
Tis Quite!

that it is

It's Part of the Friction, fkn awesome song from Death of a Dead Day. Buy It!
Bland Street Bloom - siKth.
Fan-bloody-tastic song.
does anyone know of a higher quality version of this video?
It's all about bands from Reading, they know where it's at! :P
something like that
its EB standard with the low Eb dropped to Ab
Sick, Is Dan wearing an Exit Ten tee Shirt?
agreed
FUCKING AMAZING!!
Paul Reed Smith AND Blackmachine!?!
...
dies
I love SikTh... wish they were still around.
Dan hands the size of dinner plates. No wonder it is so easy for him to play these songs!
i heard that the drop Ab tuning is pretty common in their songs.
It's either drop Ab or like drop Db with the top dropped to Ab
It's a medley of a load of different songs, I think they're all from their latest album 'Death of a Dead Day'
the wicked cool thing after bland street bloom is part of the friction i think :)
fuckin sick, i forget how phat sikth are...well were. fuck it still are lol, i need to start listenin to em more again.
god damn theyre the shit. wish dan foord was in there too though.
im pretty new to Sikth, what song is the first minute or so from?
On Gibson. PRS and pretty much every other brand is 25.5
YAY I have the same PRS WOOOOT now just to get the skill lol
yeh i second that
good fucking lord, they make it look so easy...
what song is that from 1.53 to 2.3.37?! those two riffs are fucking immense!
i think both haha, dan is a giant, but the PRS does look quite small. a lot of them have 24" scale rather than standard 25.5" so maybe
yea? i think the former singers were preaty dope. are there any singers youd recommened?
which sikth song is at 5.40
they have such a great tone, if another band would tried to imitate they would sound wierd.
but its probably also because of the tuning.
So few really inspiring bands around now, why did they have to leave us :'(
matts isnt black machine is it??
Bland Street Bloom, Killer song
8:16 sooo goooooood
what guitar is the bald guy playing? and how much do they go for?
guitars that are made by a custom luthier in the UK
what tuning is this? A flat or something?
if your gonna tune right down then you need heavy guage strings so they dont flap arround so much
How has this got +3, since when was metal about how you looked.
yea, its part of the friction after bland street bloom i think
Part of the Friction!
peavey 6505+... pin(baldy) plays through diezel herbert aswell
Does Dan remind anyone of Marcus Brigstocke??
yes. that's what i was saying.
dan is so big it looks like hes playing some minature guitar!!
it's drop B actually
...
gods.
24.75" is standard neck size
drop Csharp. but for songs like bland street bloom and sanguine seas they drop the low Csharp down to Gsharp
You'd be right.
Is that guitar Dan is holding really that small, or is Dan a giant?
Definitely check out Protest the Heros latest album, Fortress
Damn, pin just pwns.
I miss sikth.
is it just me or is dan a giant lol
his prs looks TINY
its called part of the friction, its off death of a dead day
thats not entirely fair... the standard guitarist wants to take note of wot players like ritchie blackmore hendrix and page did and stuff like that... i mean i love sikth and these guitarist are awesome! but i dont think they rely raised the bar of guitar playing either... people like dave mustaine, yngwie malmsteen and jason becker cud kinda own these guys
Is pin related to Karl Pilkington :)
Scent of the Obscene - Tress are Dead and Dried Out Wait for Something Wild
is the drummer a midgit, coz i can't see him?
Open G tuning
Just my opinion, but anything else they have going on as separate entities is worthless compared to the awesomeness that was Sikth. They are all talented musicians/artists and they are wasting it by doing other things. I hope I didn't step on any toes.
such talent, but its dissapointing ther not using it
sikth should reunite
having sed thgat i do fuking love them!! so please dont giv me a grilling and tell me im wrong and shout at me, its jus my opinion
