Andrea Motis, despite her only 26 years, has taken the jazz world by storm. The young upcoming singer and trumpeter, who also plays absolutely terrific alto saxophone, is now again visiting Copenhagen and Montmartre in the company of her regular pianist, Ignasi Terraza, and the terrific rhythm group team Jesper Bodilsen and Martin Andersen.
With 8 critically acclaimed albums in the baggage and a maturity and experience that over the last years has been experienced at clubs and festivals around the world. Motis moves with rare elegance through jazz's repertoire of standards and her own compositions. On her latest album "Do Outro Lade Do Azul" - a fireworks display with Brazilian bossanova and samba - shows this new star in Spain's jazz sky a new side of his impressive musicianship.

Andrea Motis har trods sine kun 26 år taget jazzverdenen med storm. Den unge fremadstormende sangerinde og trompetist, som også spiller helt forrygende altsax, gæster nu igen Købehavn og Montmartre i selskab med hendes faste pianist, Ignasi Terraza, og det forrygende rytmegruppe-team Jesper Bodilsen og Martin Andersen.

Ignasi on fire! Wicked trumpet by Andrea, eyes closed in an untypical twist, and I love that "manual" drum solo, including the scatting bassist.

. For many years a Bach 197 Stradivarius New York #7 Series trumpet was Andrea Motis' instrument of choice. But recently, late summer 2021, she switched to this new, beautifully gilded, Dani Felber model trumpet, hand-crafted by HAAG Brass Fabian Bächi in Weinfelden, Switzerland. The Montmartre, Copenhagen, gig was one of Andrea Motis' very first public appearances with this new instrument.
This is one of those numbers where when you look on the sheet music there is hardly any white of the paper to be seen 🤣😂
