As someone who lives in an area with amazing views of the milky way it makes me sad that some people don’t experience it like I do. That’s one thing that always humbles me and you can never take it for granted because it is always amazing.
I remember lying outside when I was home alone one night, on a blanket in a field a mile or so away from my home when I was 13 or 14. I started at the sky for a full 20 minutes, when all at once, every star in the entire sky became visible to my eyes. It was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen in my entire life. I believe that it's a real thing, that other people have experienced too. I fell asleep looking at that sky. I don't think I'll ever forget it.
Last 2 weeks ago I went hiking and camping to the second tallest mountain in Japan named Kitadake. What I aim was the sunrise at the morning. Due to the cold temperature at the altitude I couldn’t sleep enough so I decided to go out from my tent. I look at the sky and I was so surprised with its beauty and nearly tears my eyes😭. I realised that mountain range quite far away from town so that I can see the sky with stars clearly. I also managed to recognise the Milky Way belt even though not so clearly as we look in the internet picture. I already planned a trip hiking and camping one more for the sake of our beautiful sky. Hopefully the weather will be clear 🤲🏼
Whenever I go camping, I always make sure to look up and see something many others can’t, just thinking all of those are individual stars with their own planets and systems. It’s mesmerising
