Weird to hear the Master himself reading one of his stories. I always thought of him as some sort of demi-god to be honest. I owe this man a lot, he helped me improve my English in the most delightful way, through reading.

I always tell people what a funny writer Stephen King is, I can always tell the ones who only know him by the movies because they only think of him is the master of horror. Mr. King is a brilliant and a very clever writer. I'm not surprised at the laughing. Maybe the guy didn't realize how close he was to the microphone?

Great short story by the master of deep chills. I was brought back to my childhood when listening to this, actually it creeped me out a little, (it was like he'd pulled the storyline from my mind,) for my big sister broke off my little brother's pinky finger when she slammed the door on him. I remember looking at the dismembered digit, hanging by a single stringy flesh and feeling quite faint.

Yes, including the stupid laugh. King did most of the work handling the crowd, and he was entertaining, with the small quibble that he retells the same old stories about being mistaken for Coppola, living in the poor section of Bangor, etc. Still a good appearance.

Some people are so rude. Such as this cackling rectum, that has to realize that his pretentious sounding laughter is annoying. I'm sure it's been pointed out to him by anyone close to him during his lonely existence. Because his laughter reveals he one of those people that farts loudly and inappropriately, and laughs hysterically. Thus revealing, few friends. Or perhaps he's near a mic and doesn't realize it. And I'm a stifled writer seeking an audience.

It refers to the fire in the Triangle shirtwaist factory that was caused by someone smoking. The guy interviewing the man who had died worked at the factory. I wonder what Stephen was thinking about that psycho-sounding man in the audience; maybe he was wondering how he could use the guy in a future story, and making the most of the possibility. Even if someone forgot to turn off a mic near the braying donkey, he has to be able to tell from the system feedback that he is dominating the whole performance, and thus being obnoxious. He laughs at a lot of points, about which no one else in the audience does.

There were no more loud sounds from the audience and Stephen King never reacts. Maybe, just maybe, someone planted the laughter.

To Stephen King, I become a bit scared when I see you, especially live. You resemble my deceased paw who was not a terribly kind soul. But unfortunately for you, the resemblance is there. Stay off the side of the road. Be well.
