Lorelai makes a good point about the environment at Chilton in the episode "The Deer Hunters." I know it is a highly regarded private prep school, but Lorelai makes a good point about the school setting impossible standards, taking away individuality, and nurturing kids who bully each other. How can a student focus on learning in a place like this? And apparently this school looks down on people who prefer to spend some of their time alone, calling them loners. If I were a parent, I would not want to send my child to a place like Chilton.
Also, when Rory's guidance counselor said, "Universities do not look kindly on loners.” Excuse me??
