Least Chipmunk is the smallest & most common chipmunk in North America. The average weight of the specie is about 50g. Least Chipmunks use calls to declare their ownership of a territory, to find mates, and when they feel threatened.
Least Chipmunks are found throughout the boreal and temperate forests of North America. However, they prefer open areas such as forest edges and openings and they are also commonly found near river bluffs and rock cliffs.
