Yes 100%. Ideally no more than once we lap is all I’d recommend. You should know whether you need to defend or have enough of a break on your competition
Great explanation dave, I was wondering if slightly locking the wheels as you go into a corner faster because you rotate the kart or slower because you’re dropping revs?
I personally never worry about low RPM when cornering. My aim is to get to the apex as quickly as I can, and back on the throttle as soon as possible. These day’s you need to have the kart straight under braking
When you get more experience you can hear the karts behind you & have a sense if they’re close to your bumper. So you shouldn’t need to look behind to just see the kart right behind you
Infomation on defending your postion is a key factor. So at the top looking behind is necessary.
Great advice! Just went over this with my 5-year-old karting son. Keep the videos coming!
Good to learn young as kids are notorious for looking over their shoulders
Great video David. Really valid points.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great video 👍🏼 Thanks a lot. Wondering is it okay to look back to understand should we defend or not to learn if they’re close ?

Dave where can I find the Sera kart stickers for an otk chassis like in the vid can’t find them anywhere
Hi mate,
These are team stickers we have for our drivers. Not available otherwise. Cheers
What I do in rental cos I race rental is when you have a 90 degree corner you glance your eyes over to behind you and still see ahead
Great Vid
Thanks buddy
I am curious if this is actually your seating position in the kart? I feel like your legs are bend too much
Haha, it isn't I was in a friends kart just for the demonstration
Wait but how do u know if someones got a run on u?😂

@@KartClass thx
im 14 years old but i never look backwards👍
If you are pushing forward no need to look back at attackers. Only ones that can give you a run for the position.
hows those knees ahah
Haha not the ideal seating position for me here!
There's a reason karts don't have rear view mirrors.
