Thank you for sharing what you know and making it applicable to all kinds of people and relationships. I've been lucky enough to find my way out of coercive control and it's never as simple as walking away. I hope your information helps someone.

I agree that's it's likely to be largely male on femal dominant, but I can also can confirm from experience that it can and does happen both ways. Again not always, but it often just gets swept under the rug.

Maid is based on the book by Stephanie Land. You credited Margaret Qualley’s performance. Not to take away from Margaret, but I think it’s unfortunate that you didn’t also mention Stephanie; the woman who actually dealt with abuse and then wrote such a compelling book about her own experience.

You’ve just described how half a billion women living under the Islamic faith are currently living, and it’s normal and regulated by the government in those countries where it’s practiced. I have no idea how you didn’t mention Islam once in this podcast…

The fact that you took a fairly universal concept and made it about your Islamophobia is … telling.

@@aricurtis1365 I’m not afraid of Islam, this is a simple fact of the religion. The fact that you can’t accept that is very telling.
There is nothing universal about half a billion women being forcefully covered, denied basic education and rights in 2024. It happens under 1 commonality, and that is Islam.

@@aricurtis1365 anyone who makes an intelligent remark about Islam is degraded by the likes of you and given discrimatory labels because you are blind to the awful reality of certain religions that for some reason we are not supposed to criticise ..particularly islam and Judaism...probably bcs they are the worst
