Thanks Alex. Beckton Station was still busy in the afternoon with 2 or 3 buses turning up together. It was so enjoyable to see the old buses out and about again.

I'm rather pleased RM848 has been preserved on its refurbished Cummins engined form and not converted back to AEC. It preserves a particular period in their history

Thank you :) That was me and my Wife on the top deck at the front of the very first bus in this sequence . Brilliant day.

Thanks Richard. It was a superb day. I only hope they will be able to do it again one day. I went on it downstairs at the stop.

Yikes. 10 years at Upton Park Garage, (1970s), driver & conductor on the 15s, 23s & 101 and I couldn't hardly recognize any of these streets.
Amazing how things stay the same but totally change. Looks a great day. Difficult for old bus men to watch things like this, though, you keep spotting things wrong! Thanks for posting.

Thanks Danny. Yes it was a superb day. It's great that they are able to keep these buses going for us to enjoy on days such as these alongside the current buses.

Did the 15 ever run all the way through to Richmond on a Sunday during those summers it was extended to there? My Gran used to bring me home from a nursery attached to the LSE in Aldwych by 15, then 23 and then either 87 or 175 to Rush Green in the early 80s.

@@djpeekay25 Just about. In the 50s & 60s the 15 went to Kew Bridge on Sundays. Then in 1975 it was extended to Richmond Bus Station but in 1981 it was pulled back again to the Goldsmith Arms in East Acton. All only on Sundays though.

@@dannyrobins6555 thanks. That was a long route.

@@djpeekay25 Although it was a long route, (2hrs total running time one way), the service was split into 2 parts with an overlap in the middle. So the Richmond buses only went to Aldgate and the East Ham end buses only went to East Acton. The Richmond buses came from Middle Row Garage and the East Ham buses from Upton Park. (The bus garage, not the football ground!)
