USS MASSACHUSETTS 40mm Gun Drill

The crew of BB-59 conducts a General Quarters drill consisting of #18 Mount of the 40mm Bofors AA Gun. This is a drill that would have been conducted regularly by crew members during World War II.
What you are seeing is what those wartime 40mm drills would have looked like. The gun fire and aircraft sounds have been added on for effect to give an idea of what the atmosphere would have sounded like if the ship had actually been under attack.
