"What a loyal friend" LOL. Once again, Dr. Charles Nichols fools reactors with his charm and so called loyalty to Richard. Never gets old. Great reaction as usual you two.
Girard is featured in a "sequel", called US Marshalls. It doesn't involve Richard Kimble at all, it's about another escaped person, and is a ton of fun also. It also stars Robert Downey, Jr and Wesley Snipes.
It is one of Robert Downey Jr movies that he made when he was dealing with drug addiction and had been dealing with previously serving time in prison for drug convictions. Downey Jr said he didn’t enjoy working on the film.
Also, while not a direct sequel like "U.S. Marshals", "Double Jeopardy (1999)" is another 90's movie starring Tommy Lee Jones chasing some suspect. And if that's still not enough, I'd also add "Hunted (2003)", a bit more darker than those other titles, and it has that Sicario dude, Benicio Del Toro as the perp.
TLJ gave a great performance but the Oscar should have went to Ralph Fiennes for Schindler's List. Of course, the Academy then would never give an Oscar to a performer who portrayed a Nazi war criminal, no matter how kind and professional is the actor.
This was one of the better reaction videos on this film yet. Most other reaction hosts cut the content by 20 minutes or more, but not so here! Thanks for sharing your work.
The movie was based on a 60's TV show, and that was based on the real life case of Dr Sam Sheppared who was convicted and ten found innocent of the murder of his wife.
I got into the show within the last two years or so. It's insanely good and became a new favorite and this is a very worthy version but I hope it wouldn't persuade people to think they've seen the best and don't need to watch the show, it's very clear it was a pioneer of realism and plain old good storytelling on TV and totally refutes the idea TV just suddenly became good decades later.
@@bespectacledheroine7292 The TV show demonstrated a tremendous sense of benevolence among ordinary people. Kimble would continually have new encounters with total strangers and they would simply take him as they found him.
My father & Grandfather saw the original tv show Fugitive when it was new, I see the re-runs that they still show on certain classic tv channels like MeTv, Cozi, GetTv etc. In My opinion, I like the movie version actors better than the original cast. Especially tommy Lee Jones, I think he's a better Marshal Gerard than the original guy.
I found out that the train crash was done for real and most of the scene was done in one take, as there were 5 different cameras set up to get the scene right.
Nominated for 7 Oscars including Best Picture but won for Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Costner, Michael Douglas, Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Richard Gere, Charlie Sheen, Clint Eastwood, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Patrick Swayze and John Travolta were considered for Richard Kimble. Jon Voight and Gene Hackman were considered for US Marshal Sam Gerard.
One of my favorite endings ever. Just an amazing story, great acting, and the music was just spot on for every situation. The type of movie meant to see on the big screen, like the movies of old.
This was the very first Harrison Ford movie I watched on VHS when I was 4-5 years old and it's over of my favorite films. I even watched the Indiana Jones movies on NBC as well
If you want more harrison ford movies I highly recommend Presumed Innocent and Witness. Both great movies and Harrison gets to stretch his acting talents out some.
Regarding Henry, Mosquito Coast, Working Girl, Apocalypse Now, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, American Graffiti...the Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies of course...
Along with The Fugitive Witness and Presumed Innocent are his best movies. I just rewatched Presumed Innocent. Just brilliant! One of the best courtroom dramas. Great story. Harrison is excellent in it and the late great Raul Julia was such an excellent actor. Witness is my favorite. Just a perfect one of a kind film by one of my favorite filmmakers Peter Weir.
In the begining, his wife wasn't coerced. She was calling out to Richard for help; she heard his footsteps on the stairs and said, "Richard, he's trying to kill me." Great reaction guys! Really enjoyed it.
This is based off a black and white tv show from the 60s I think. It is a cool show to this day. The good doctor would help the various people he would meet while on the run from Lt. Gerard.
One of the neat things the film-makers did was put us, the audience, in Gerard's place. Kimball shares his discoveries with the Marshal's so we get to work on solving the under-lying murder along with the police. It adds to the audience involvement. We aren't just watching a movie, we get intellectually involved in trying to put the pieces together throughout the film.
16:06 - This movie is based upon the 1960s TV series by the same name. 120 episodes would see Dr. Richard Kimble (David Janssen), while being pursued by U.S. Marshalls, arrive in a different town each week. He would either get caught up in or help resolve a situation (at risk of getting caught) and leave town just in time as U.S. Marshall Gerard (Barry Morse) arrived.
Happy ya'll are bringing this one. One of my favorites. Smart, quick, has action amid great storytelling, and makes sense. Gonna enjoy this. Here we go! :)
Zomggg, what a small world, I didn't even have to google it because my birthday is July 13th too!! I've done my fair share of bragging about sharing a bday with Harrison Ford, as well as Cheech and Patrick Stewart and now am proud to add Sarah to that list!
During the train wreck scene (they wrecked a real train, it's still there in North Carolina where they filmed that scene), Harrison Ford injured his knee and would need surgery. However, they were on a tight filming schedule so he didn't have the surgery until after filming was completed. If you look closely, you'll notice he walked with a limp. They filmed the parade scene at the actual Saint Patrick's Day parade in Chicago. They got permission to walk with the Plumber's union. They were filming for several minutes until anyone noticed. They were writing the script almost on the fly. Several scenes were ad-libbed, including most of the banter between the U.S. Marshalls.
The trope of dying your hair to change your look goes back to the original tv series in the '60's. David Jansen is gray in the beginning and later dyed his hair. The woman picking him up hitching comes from the TV show as well . Kimble was the James Bond of fugitives!!! Women always fell for him and helped him. Ford even put the Kimble limp into his character an homage to the original show. A lot of fun for fans of the show and a great movie for newcomers!
It's hard to see Gerard as the antagonist here, he's so likable! Sarah called it first, I believe, that they'd be working together by the end of the movie. Great reaction from you both! Keep 'em coming!
Deputy US Marshal Gerard isnt the antagonist. He's a man doing his job and is a step behind Dr. Kimball's detective work. The antagonist is the shadowy figures behind the scenes that set up Dr. Kimball and murdered his wife.
The last tv episode 60's when one armed man was caught, was tv's highest audience ever, until 1980 when we found out " Who Shot J.R."- "Dallas" ( which was beaten by last episode of M*A*SH ) 1983 & still is #1 !
the 90s were a great time for the action/thriller hybrid. if you're looking for another, i'd recommend michael mann"s heat. it's much less of a fun summer blockbuster than the fugitive, grittier and more downbeat, but it also features great cops vs. criminal(s) cat-and-mouse stuff interspersed with some pretty amazing action set-pieces.
Well done E&S, lots of twists and you were on top of every thing as best anyone could be. The original TV series was pretty interestingly done for the 60s, but this movie summed up everything and gave closure to the story. An early HF movie I think you'd enjoy is American Graffiti a different minor role altogether, you'd recognize some big film names in that one.
Gr8 reaction guys, I just subscribed. ❤❤ 2 must watch movies are - "I AM SAM" with Sean Penn and "FINDING FORRESTER" with Sean Connery (the first James Bond) and a fleet of other amazing actors!
Most of the movie's original audience would have been familiar with the premise from the 60's TV show, so the movie could kind of skip through the background quickly. It seems to puzzle and mislead more modern audiences, which is interesting.
I knew it was the French doctor the minute he handed over something and said 'Thanks for the loner, the keys are downstairs' and Kimble joked 'Is there gas in it?' I was wondering why a doctor would need to borrow another doctors car.
interestingly there is a sequel to this movie. Harrison ford is not in it but all the US marshal characters are including Tommy Lee Jones. The Movie is call, "U.S. Marshals".

React to Harrison Ford in "Witness" from 1985. Ford was nominated for an Oscar, and the movie was up for Best Picture. In it, he plays a police detective protecting an Amish boy who witnessed a murder.
Saw this in theater and it was great. I got a movie reaction suggestion for you guys it one of my favorites, The Final Countdown (1980) The U.S.S. Nimitz goes back to December 6th, 1941. It's filmed on the Nimitz.
18:15 this is the only part of this movie that I don't like. It's clearly a dummy. and the way it falls is head first which would have killed him. practical effects aren't always awesome. 🙂
Dr. Sam was sent to prison & worked in the Pharmacy. HE later hired F. Lee Bailey to get him out of prison & F. Lee did it. F. Lee later defended O. J.
The Real guy was the illegit son of the Cleveland Police Chief. A bald headed guy who was the Sheppards window washer & he wore a shaggy wig. Later convicted of tricking some old lady of signing a blank piece of paper under the guise of taking it to a fortune teller & then wrote a will naming himself as her benificary & pushing her down the stairs to kill her. But he got busted. HooRay!

@scottdarden3091 huh? How?
23:34 "How much of a friend is he? We'll see."
😬 indeed we will...
42:21 "He used his car, didn't he?"
he did. good memory. 👍🏼
@25:40 "What a loyal friend...."
Hahaha we really were fooled
Tommy Lee Jones won the Oscar for his role in the Fugitive. Good performances. Good banter from you two as usual. Great reaction
Glad you enjoy it!
TLJ gave a great performance but the Oscar should have went to Ralph Fiennes for Schindler's List. Of course, the Academy then would never give an Oscar to a performer who portrayed a Nazi war criminal, no matter how kind and professional is the actor.
Tommy Lee Jones plays the same character in "U S Marshall ". Another really good fun movie!
25:37 "What a loyal friend."
😬
16:30 "No way!" 😮
great expression sarah. you opened your eyes on "no" and _a little more_ on "way".
that's talent. natural talent.
You saw a complete movie. A film that completely satisfies.
The Untouchables is one of those films, too.
speaking of The Untouchables th-cam.com/video/lL1Fsle8Y-g/w-d-xo.html
great reaction

The wrecked train and bus are still there in Dillsboro, North Carolina, where the film crew left them abandoned, 30 years ago.
That's crazy!!
The movie was based on a 60's TV show, and that was based on the real life case of Dr Sam Sheppared who was convicted and ten found innocent of the murder of his wife.
I used to watch the reruns with my dad back in the 80s. Such a great show.

10:24 "what a train wreck."
the cheese is strong in this one 🧀😁
"I don't care" is the best line in this movie if you ask me.
I found out that the train crash was done for real and most of the scene was done in one take, as there were 5 different cameras set up to get the scene right.
We wondered if it was real! That's pretty impressive 😯
33:23 "oh my God his foot!" 😮

14:01 who did it better, John Rambo or Richard Kimball?
discuss.
Props to Kimble for sure!
11:04- And now the movie starts for real. The Marshals are far and away the best part of this film.
1:04 "...RIGHT NOW..."
definitely all caps 🙂
13:07 called it ☎️
For a couple of Ohioans, I sub.
👍😄👍 Been loving your reactions for awhile now, keep up the great job you two!

Thank you!!
Great reaction! I look forward to watching more from you!
Great Movie and Reaction ! Good Job Sarah & Eric
41:28 he fooled us all.

This is one of a handful of movies I consider to be perfect. The script is great, the acting, the pacing of the story. It's perfect.
always makes me laugh when everyone got fool by the amazing loyal bestie Richard 😂😂
So, like Diehard is a Christmas movie, The Fugitive is for St Patrick's Day.
He was a lucky bastard. One step ahead of the authorities.
Always loved the train wreck scene--if Harrison Ford ain't running from giant rolling rocks, it's a runaway train!
21:30 Gerard hesitates for a second before looking back through the door because he wasnt sure he hadnt just killed his own officer.
Major props for recalling Nichols borrowing Richard's car at the beginning before the reveal!!!! Great reaction!!!

Favorite movie of time
This movie was an incredibly big deal when it hit theaters. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
another great Harrison Ford film is Presumed Innocent (1990).
fun fact: there are zero reactions to this movie on TH-cam? Zee row

Tommy Lee Jones aged in the mini series Lonesome Dove, my favorite Tommy Lee performance.

An early outing for Harrison Ford is "American Graffiti" (1973) and that is worthy of a watch.

If you like this, you would love, "Double Jeopardy" with Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd. Amazing story and edge of your seat movie.
This is some kind of extended cut version; i’m seeing bits i’ve never seen before! Where’d y’all get this copy?
That's no bullshit. If there's a murder inside someone's home of a family or a spouse they'll look at the husband or the wife first .
React to Harrison Ford in "Witness" from 1985. Ford was nominated for an Oscar, and the movie was up for Best Picture. In it, he plays a police detective protecting an Amish boy who witnessed a murder.
Another fun 1990’s thriller is In The Line Of Fire starring Clint Eastwood and John Malcovich
Theirs a great western called The Missing with Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchet thats was awesome flick! You guys should consider reacting to it!
You might like double jeopardy with Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd

When Tommy Lee Jones steps out of the helicopter at the dam scene, he claims he nearly lost his foot. Watch it again.
My dad was born on the exact same day with Harrison Ford.
Dr. Sam was sent to prison & worked in the Pharmacy. HE later hired F. Lee Bailey to get him out of prison & F. Lee did it. F. Lee later defended O. J.
Knives Out (2019) would be a nice reaction for two amateur sleuths 🙂

_The Fugitive_ was a archetypical "TNT movie."
Another good Harrison Ford movie is Witness (1985).
Absolutely fantastic movie.
I never understand why people don’t realize she was calling out to her husband to save her from her killer, which everybody just watched kill her.
