I'm so impressed with the amount of items you have made! VERY neat! Your style kind of reminds me of a school teacher. Which isn't a bad thing. Just many pieces/styles that looked the same. I would love to challenge you to go out of your comfort zone this year. Especially when you have so many great features! The dress that you said wasn't really you.....I think #6 or 7......I actually thought that looked best on you. I hope you don't take my comment wrong. Just would love to see you grow in your sewing.😊 looking forward to seeing more of your makes!
I understand where you’re coming from. 2022 was also terrible for me. I lost my sibling unexpectedly early in the year and have not been myself since. However, I have to honestly say that discovering your channel about sewing has helped me deal with it. I enjoy watching and learning from you. I have retired recently and will start sewing again. I will give you credit for giving me back the interest in doing sew (pun intended 😅) God bless you and your family. Loved your blogmas as well.
I'm so sorry for your loss...I lost my second oldest brother to the "Covid pneumonia" February of 2021, then 6 1/2 months later I lost my oldest brother to cancer-quite unexpectedly, he was diagnosed and 3 weeks later he was gone. So I understand your pain and sorrow..I'll pray for your and your grief! Sewing is a great tool for recovery and giving one a sense of purpose! I cannot say I've recovered from my grief completely, I still have my moments.
@@ladylouise1969 Thank you. There were only the 2 of us and he had no family. Thank God I have my husband, my 2 kids and kid-in-law with me. They are my backbone. It is so sad how we sometimes take our siblings for granted, then they are gone. I will miss him. I have learned to take one day at a time. Thank you again for caring. Prayers for you and yours.
I loved almost everything you said you are selling, they go very well for you. I cannot say the same for everything you are excited about, sorry. My favorites are the very large print and the light print dresses. @12:21 is gorgeous. So is the next one @12:48. Same @16:25 and 16:47, splendid! Also can’t wait to see the mystery one @18:53. My favorite top @26:22. Thank you for this lovely elaborate video!
Things I’ve learned about Sían. I am fairly new to watching your channel, it’s been about 5 months now I think. Dark floral and monstera leaves are your jam. Negative ease, 3/4 to double circle skirts of cocktail to tea length, and medium to lightweight fabrics are your happy place. The more something has swish or twirl in the sleeve or skirt, the more you love it. The more something hugs your upper torso, the more you love it. I’m really looking forward to when you have made your slopes and begin to design your own patterns. It’s going to be EPIC! I’m 100% waiting to see your dragon jacket that was inspired by Bianca as well as the super secret squirrel dress. My favorite make of yours was the denim colored dress with the pirate sleeves. Cuffing them was the right choice. That whole capsule collection was perfection because you were so diligent in color matching the elements in the cobra collage colorway you had chosen. The deep yellow was Alllllmost the complimentary color for the blue tones you chose. Fabulous! I’m ready for 20231
You should not apologise for still creating great content when everything spiralled for you. Your makes were beautiful and it is interesting to see the same pattern made up in different fabrics. Living with pain is not fun.I never took medication but I am now on strong medication.Yes I was upset but I could no longer function with the level of pain I was experiencing. Sometimes accepting that is hard but please keep going in you search for help with your pain. I hope 2023 will be a better year for you x
Fabulous Work!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!! You definitely have a specific look: fitted on top, flared on the bottom with a nod to vintage. What I love the most are your fabric choices. I feel like I know you through your fabric on such a fun and organic level! It's fun to see how a similarly silhouetted pattern changes based on the fabric choice. I so appreciate your eye, and just WOW!!! You are a PHENOM at the sewing machine!! Your garments are so specific, fun, polished, and interesting. I have embraced my very flowery, more demure, slightly vintage side because of the fun you see to have expressing yourself. Great work!!! Can't wait to see what 2023 brings you and all of us. Your openness and sharing (without oversharing) is so refreshing. Sending you support and calm as you/we continue on your/our journey to yourself/ourself.
What a great collection of clothing and accessories 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 so many beautiful styles and fabrics, you should really be so proud of what you've accomplished and doing it while pushing through adversity. I totally identify with your circumstances and I'm going through a very tough health crisis so I sympathize and I'll be praying for healing and your pain to go away! Keep going, you're fabulous 🤩
No need to apologise, Sian, your makes are gorgeous, and they made many other people happy as well! 2023 will be better for all of us. Keep doing what you do, we love it! ❤️
Bonjour Sian , everything looks sooo beautiful on you, your are the best sewer of YT! Happy New Year sweetie, health, happiness and joy for you and your lovely family. Cannot wait to see what will up to on 2023. Christine 😺🇨🇦😺
So many beautiful garments! ❤The dark dress with cherries (? unsure, but the combination between three patterns, one of them the Gertie dress bodice) is my absolute favourite! 😍
I think it’s great you make multiples of patterns Sian. It often takes multiple makes to get the fit right anyway and as you’ve said, patterns are expensive in the UK and it’s good to make multiples and they always look so different anyway. 😊
I am so sorry about your break up and health news. Very happy your kitty is fine and still with you!! I agree with you about your colors and the ones that don't wear well on you. What a lovely collection of clothing items!
I love this type of video 🥰 Already watched it twice, once while sewing, once with full concentration 🤗 I can‘t nsme a favourite, I loved sll of your makes. They loog great on you even if they are not your personal style 🤗☺️ I just want you to know that I never got bored. You are my sewing companion, the person that motivates me to get on with m. own projects. And I lovd listening to you in the background. Really enjoyed your hangout about your dating desasters 😂 anyways, I‘m not bored any I will continue supporting you here and on patreon 😘
I am sorry to hear about your troubles last year but I am really happy that you are able to sew and relief the pain. Your yearly accomplishments are amazing. I could barely make few pieces and was in bed with a tough case of shingles for two months just dreaming of what I will do when I am better, which finally is happening now and I am finishing what I have started. I wish you a glorious and productive 2023 🎉
No need to apologise Sian - if sewing is doing what it needs to for you then that's the main thing. Hope this year is less painful for you (in every sense).
I love the patterns you chose. I always have trouble finding patterns I like, I'm subscribing to your channel because your style is just what I'm looking for. Thanks!
Sian you have done amazing with your makes so this year 2023 will l Hope be better the past has gone and you coped so well with the hurt you suffered in a personal sense also the pain you are dealing with. I understand having had a life changing accident a simple fall but with devastating long painful results constant nerve pain and many many pills daily and more limited mobility. I have learned over 20 years to deal with it and so will you no choice when nothing can be done. Then tragically l lost my husband 10 years ago very suddenly such terrible circumstances which l won’t go into. 2012 was my most awful year 😢 l will never get over it but you do learn to cope and find joy in things, like watching you sew and your lovely makes gives so much to many of us. You have inspired me to have a go at making things and l made two dresses for my holiday in 2022 and hope to carry on sewing. Just carry on yourself doing what you do and may we all have a happy healthy 2023. ❤
Matilda pattern with blue leaves is gorgeous for me. I love this one and if I had chance, I would have stolen it from you :P A great collection of clothes. I would like to sew 34 of them for myself, but if I manage to make 5, I will be happy anyway. I also really like the denim skirt with buttons down the front. This is something I will definitely sew. I've been sewing for myself for a year, so for now I need more basic clothes. I'm glad I found your channel. I have a similar figure and from your example I learn what can look good on me. Thank you for another valuable lesson.
I understand, too, 2022 was difficult with moments of joy balanced against a lot of sadness. You did an amazing job and it was lovely to see you work through everything. It is a good lesson to that you can love a pattern and a fabric and then figure it out when it was finished that is was great but not right for "me" and being able to pass that on to others. I loved all the fitted dresses and the vests and circle skirts. Such great fabric as well! Have a great 2023!
Wowsers! Severely jet lagged so I am watching Vlogs. So happy that I watched yours! Beautiful and amazing clothes. Such accomplishments. I’m so envious that you made the trench coat and Sorrento jacket. Hoping to get a trench coat made this year. I think your hair is perfection on you. It makes you look younger and carefree! Happy new year Sian. See you in Croatia!
I keep looking at your 6891s thinking how much I love them but they’re very similar to a pattern I already have. I just checked my stash and it’s the same pattern just with a different envelope. I’m definitely going to make some now!
So interesting to see everything you've made in one year! My favorites are the red remake (woven # 70) closely followed by the first Sirocco, the Gucci-style bomber jacket and the Anna tops. I agree that the light and grey fabrics are not the best for you, although the garments you made are all beautiful. I hope 2023 will be a much better year for you. thank you for all your videos.
I've just 'discovered' your channel (and subscribed) and love your makes from last year. Feeling so inspired and looking forward to seeing more in the coming months. I hope 2023 is much better for you than 2022. Best wishes from Australia.
100 makes is so impressive. You definitely have a type/style when it comes to patterns and fabrics and confident in what you like. I’m selfishly waiting on the world wide fabric fondling and creative collaborations - that’s content I’d enjoy! I wish you every success in the new year. 🎉 Thanks for all the time and effort you put into making your content. 😊 Big love from Australia 🇦🇺
💜💜💜 The makes were beautiful and repeated patterns are great to see. I love that I get to see them in different prints and fabrics. I wishing a tremendous amount of happiness for 2023.
What you have done with all these beautiful prints is wonderful. I always look at these types of prints at the fabric store, but never end up buying any of them. I think I'm going to try and branch out and buy just one of them to make a dress like the ones you have here now
thank you for introducing me to the adventures of sewing your own wardrobe. The multiple makes of tried and true, but with different fabric, prints or tweaks, was very inspiring, not boring, at least for me.
Hey Sian, what about if you dyed the black and white prints that you’re not reaching for… You love the patterns and the print, it’s just the underlying colour. You could chose one of your Spring colours such as turquoise, cobalt blue, red or coral pink… ⭐️
I haven’t picked up sewing in probably a good 20 years. I have been watching and following along with you over the past year. When you brought out the capsule collection of 5 different pieces from one pattern, it made me consider sewing again. For that I thank you. , On a different note; young lady you are beautiful and I pray God has many good things planned for you this year. God bless you and keep you in 2023.
New to your channel, and it has given me lots of ideas on dresses that I want to make. I have two questions, you mentioned that you do this for a living, what exactly do you do? And would you do a tutorial on how to adjust the neck lines… I have trouble making the necklines higher, which I prefer. Thank you for your time!
Lovely to see all you makes. Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for the by hand London Anna pattern for ages but only seem to be able to locate the Little Anna or the 16-24 version which is a shame as would love to add this to my makes list and also the top hack. Hopefully they will become available soon !
I think you look stunning in all your makes, especially with the new bobbed hair! I absolutely love the Geeky sweatshirts, the bomber jacket and the Sorrento jacket... they're a bit different, more modern ...but still you! Happy New Year 2023!
Wow! Thank you for this video, it was super to see. I loved the red dress, no71, I hope you have a wonderful occasion to wear. I really feel for you, coping with constant pain is an horrific situation and you show us such a positive, smiley, happy face. May I ask the skirt pattern that you wear to show your tops, the denim-blue with side pockets? It looks a really useful skirt. Best wishes for you to have an awesome year 2023, I look forward to your makes. Thank you
Loved nearly all your makes, I like the silhouette of the dresses. The circular skirts or the denim A line skirts, that’s my style too. And of course all the fabrics that you use are so gorgeous…All the best for 2023. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. Look forward to more of your makes….❤
I’m probably going to watch this video more than 10 times!!! My favs for 2022: the Matilda, the Caméléon dress, the Vogue shirt, the M2623 (what a gorgeous dress!!! I can’t wait when you’ll make it in a color that suits you) I’m looking forward to your next projects a I wish 2023 to be a fantastic year for you!!!🎉
I’m in a rut with my sewing I’ve been ill for 1 1/2 years I’ve lost so much weight so sewing outfits is probably not the best right now as I don’t know what size I’m going to be hopefully I will get better soon Happy new year everyone
I really hope 2023 is a much better year for you ❤ My personal favourite from all your gorgeous makes was the matilda dress ooh and the gable tops suit you so well 😻
I love all your makes. Now you have had your colours done there should be less fails for this year. I am planning on making a mini wardrobe similar to your five pieces from one pattern. I love seeing how you make up your bold prints especially the panels as I wouldn't know what to do with them.
I love your makes! It's inspiring to hear how you look at them and what you love or don't love about them. Your happy place with the patterns you love has actually been a catalyst for a bunch of pattern purchases for me. This year I have the Vogue 8577 on my make 9, as well as the Vogue 1669. I have made a toile for that one years ago, but have been too scared to buy the expensive fabric and actually go for it. You've inspired me to add a project that scares me :) I hope that 2023 will be a great year for you, and I will still be watching your channel independent of whether you go crazy with new patterns and styles or whether you stick to your comfort zone :) 🧵
It is so hard to pick just one from all your fabulous makes but if I had to my choice would be the dress from the giant lion face fabric. When you showed us the fabric I thought -mmm - where are you doing to place the faces? But the way you cut it out is amazing and the colours and the faces come together to make a wonderful tapestry. Looking at the fabric and then your finished dress shows how gifted you are. 😁
I loved watching your 2022 accomplishments this morning as did the dude on the treadmill next me ! My favourite is the Papercut patterns bomber in velvet, such a cool and unexpected combination. Happy 2023 everyone. Everyday is a new day.
Really enjoyed following your sewing adventures this past year! So many gorgeous pieces! Hope 2023 will treat you well and it will be your best year yet! ❤️✨
I enjoyed this video very much. I am sorry that it was a difficult year for you in many respects but your sewing makes were lovely . My favourite is the gold pinafore dress
Loved the 5 from one pattern wardrobe for many reasons. Well recovered and I'm sure 2023 will be an even bigger success. I look forward to seeing the growth in both your channel and your range of works. 👩🌾👩🌾👩🌾💯
Happy 2023! 🎉 I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite. I think the coral colours look amazing on you, shame that top didn’t work out. Love the dress you wore to the dressmakers ball. There is 8meters of that fabric in my stash #Sianmademedoit 😎
So many great makes. I'm particularly drawn to the 5 makes from one pattern capsule. And the vests! No idea why, but I have been wanting a matching vest and skirt or trouser set for a while now. Seeing yours has pushed me into just getting on with it (I'm stuck at the mock up stage). 😻
How come we all went through 2020 and 2022 somehow ended up being the really sucky one? Anyway, moving on. It’s always fun watching your reviews and remembering the year through your makes. I think it’s a very valuable discussion to talk about how different approaches to fashion and sewing can influence mental health in various ways. You did what was right for you. And compared to people just selling an entertaining façade and burning themselves out doing so, making their viewers doubt themselves because they don’t manage to be that happy and “perfect” all the time, I prefer your approach every day of the year. Even if it requires a lot of cobra corsage and Anna tops 😉 ❤
Bummer about most of 2022, but sounds like it ended on some high notes and you have some energy and excitement for this year! 🎉😁💜 Absolutely loved the V9345 capsule with all the different pieces. I have grand plans to do something similar. #sianmademedoit is certainly the right hashtag! 😄
What was the super secret squirrel dress that you couldn't show us? I love the twirl (well, I think I do, at least what I see in the blur) so I would love to know!
Some amazing makes. Having your colours done is a game changer, you feel comfortable in the colours and things ho together. Excellent makes, my faves the pinafore dress and shirt combo and the bomber jacket
Love your red dress very becoming on you! :+) I noticed that black garments are really not your "thing"-perhaps go for navy, brown, plum or burgundy as your dark "neutrals" I don't wear a lot of black, and I find those colors more flattering on me. I have light skin, also-not quite as light as yours... I love the "Adrienne"-how do you wear a bra underneath it?? I cannot go braless-and the shoulder area is so close to "falling off"...Did you build a bra into the top?? I also love you in that striped turtleneck that you don't like on you-the colors really suit you! :+) I'm so sorry for all your 'woes"....I have lived with acute and chronic pain for 53 years, so I understand. Some things work better than others, so if you ever need someone to chat with let me know!:+)
366 days this year and I love getting dressed up each day to "Go to work" even though I work from home. It would be really easy for me to wear PJ's or comfies everyday but then there really wouldn't be any point in me making anything but PJ's and comfies and I feel way better in pretty dresses/clothes. I'm probably overdressed for almost everything I do but, like I said, I love wearing the things I make. A fair few of the pieces from 2022 have been given to my friends and family because the style or fabric print/colour wasn't for me but majority are still in my wardrobe and still being worn. 😊
I'm so impressed with the amount of items you have made! VERY neat! Your style kind of reminds me of a school teacher. Which isn't a bad thing. Just many pieces/styles that looked the same. I would love to challenge you to go out of your comfort zone this year. Especially when you have so many great features! thank you for introducing me to the adventures of sewing your own wardrobe.
For that I thank you.
,
On a different note; young lady you are beautiful and I pray God has many good things planned for you this year.
Wow!!! You are amazing, thanks for sharing…
One of my faves is that turquoise and pink skirt on the black base - can’t wait until you make matching tops to be able to wear it. 🤩
Wooohooo so excited for this video 💃
Thank you
Thank you Rosemary :) The skirt is the same as the black one I'm not sure of the Vogue 1743 :)
I can’t wait when you’ll make it in a color that suits you) I’m looking forward to your next projects a I wish 2023 to be a fantastic year for you!!!🎉
I’m in a rut with my sewing I’ve been ill for 1 1/2 years I’ve lost so much weight so sewing outfits is probably not the best right now as I don’t know what size I’m going to be hopefully I will get better soon
Happy new year everyone
You’ve done fantastic given all the road blocks in your year. Sometimes survival is the most important accomplishment. Here’s to a better 2023! 🎉
Bumper crop for sure! Well done!
I love the outfit with the weird grasser top - it is a great look on you
I really hope 2023 is a much better year for you ❤ My personal favourite from all your gorgeous makes was the matilda dress ooh and the gable tops suit you so well 😻
Sew many wonderful makes to be proud of and enjoy. I certainly did, and have inspiration from them xxxxxx
I love the shirt dresses! Inspired me to start making my own
I really love the blue leaf dress
Loved the rust and navy numbers at the start (others were beautiful as well)
So many beautiful things and gorgeous fabric, prints and colours! Now I'm looking forward to the adventures of 2023😊
OMG! Your year was amazing! Lovely makes, even the ones you were not nuts about. Keep sewing though.🥰
Everything is so beautiful ❤ cheers to 2023 🎉
I loved watching your 2022 accomplishments this morning as did the dude on the treadmill next me !
Sooo many beautiful clothes 😍
🌺
Bummer about most of 2022, but sounds like it ended on some high notes and you have some energy and excitement for this year! 🎉😁💜 Absolutely loved the V9345 capsule with all the different pieces. I have grand plans to do something similar. #sianmademedoit is certainly the right hashtag! 😄
Love this!
What was the super secret squirrel dress that you couldn't show us? I love the twirl (well, I think I do, at least what I see in the blur) so I would love to know!
It’s still super secret 🤫😭
Only one Eve Dress! I don’t think you can say you stayed that close to your comfort zone 😂😂😂

Some amazing makes. Having your colours done is a game changer, you feel comfortable in the colours and things ho together. Excellent makes, my faves the pinafore dress and shirt combo and the bomber jacket

Love your red dress very becoming on you! :+)
I noticed that black garments are really not your "thing"-perhaps go for navy, brown, plum or burgundy as your dark "neutrals" I don't wear a lot of black, and I find those colors more flattering on me.
I'm so sorry for all your 'woes"....I have lived with acute and chronic pain for 53 years, so I understand. Some things work better than others, so if you ever need someone to chat with let me know!:+)
How do you get the chance to ever wear all this clothes?
366 days this year and I love getting dressed up each day to "Go to work" even though I work from home. It would be really easy for me to wear PJ's or comfies everyday but then there really wouldn't be any point in me making anything but PJ's and comfies and I feel way better in pretty dresses/clothes. I'm probably overdressed for almost everything I do but, like I said, I love wearing the things I make. A fair few of the pieces from 2022 have been given to my friends and family because the style or fabric print/colour wasn't for me but majority are still in my wardrobe and still being worn. 😊
