    Handel's Messiah is by far my favorite musical piece. I listen to it all year long. Since the pandemic, there has been a reduction of opportunities to
    hear it in person. I'm grateful for the ability to hear it online. My sister is also a committed member of Trinity Church.

    12:00 pm 12/23/24 Such a profound performance! The soloists were inspirational as they seemed to put their whole heart and soul into the music.
    There was only one person in the choir who made sure she stood out from the rest. How unfortunate to have one person's pride try to spoil it for the rest. However, what a joy and blessing it has been to experience this profound event. I must not forget the conductor. He was magnificent!!
    I shall definitely watch this again tomorrow. May God bless you all, especially in all you do for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

    "A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief..." this expression of the Messiah is the most human and heartfelt performance of this music through voice and instrument that I have ever heard. This is extraordinary. Thank you.

    Greetings from Dublin, Ireland, the city lucky enough to hear the premiere performance of Messiah in 1742, conducted by maestro Handel himself. I have been listening to performances of this iconic baroque masterpiece for 50 years and have rarely been so moved as I was by this one. Many aspects combine to make this performance, in my humble opinion, outstanding. The ensemble size seems ideal, the tempi and phrasing are lively and clear, and the soloists’ diction and tone a perfect balance to enunciate this profound story, without being overly ornate. Technical details aside, there is something about the spirit of this performance as a whole that makes it very special. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing.

    Of all performances of Handel's Messiah I have heard in my entire life, this is by far the most exquisitely performed rendition. The absolutely artistry of the many and various soloists introducing the novel idea beyond the customary four soloists added a unique freshness to this performance.

    Christmas blessings from Sydney, Australia. Thank you for such a wonderful concert - perfect in a church setting with a smaller talented choir. The finales Worthy and The Amen are when you fully appreciate the depth of this choir and orchestra under the leadership of an excellent conductor. A memorable concert!

    I was enthralled by this performance. I particularly appreciated the countertenor who started at 1:05. Who is he? I appreciated that the soloists did not bury their faces in their scores, but looked up and conveyed the meaning behind the words they were singing. The chorus was impressive with its lightness and unity. Bravo to all, especially the excellent conductor.

    Steller performance. So glad I could hear it, because this is one of the annual events I attended when I was a student at Manhattan School of Music back in the 70's. The down beat and opening sounds of this piece always get my eyes watery. Bach does the same thing. It's an artistic past life thing I guess. It's a wonder that I was ever able to sing as soloist when I performed this and other baroque works.

    A valiant effort, distinguished with very good singing from the chorus, and excellent playing from the orchestra. Unfortunately, most of the soloists ranged from decent (Mr. Mello) down to very subpar... with the surprising and welcome exception of Ms. Abedi and her performance of "How Beautiful are the Feet"... really beautiful and expressive singing! Brava!

    What a fine gift you have given us non New Yorkers. Thank you! But to the soprano who had much of it memorized, you were noticed. Bravo. But as a fellow chorister I found your bravado overly pompous.

    • @geraldharvey8979
      @geraldharvey8979 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sir, perhaps, what you call bravado is merely a manifestation of the great joy she feels to sing such inspired music.

    • @RepublicTX
      @RepublicTX 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. If one sings in a group, one should do as the group does. Very distracting to have one chorister showing off that she doesn't need the music. Fine, don't use it, but at least hold the folder and fake it. "Look at me! Look at me!"

    • @nellyd9280

      Sam Stover, maybe that soprano forgot her book for the first part, because she has it in the second part.
