    Love your content. Could you consider a video showing step by step on how to use the vacuum pump? Thanks, keep up the good work

    Thanks for the great videos.
    Is the process any different if I want to make a sandwich panel i.e. a foam core that is carbon coated on both sides?

    Very cool and simple video. I followed your thread on TrackMustangsOnline as I want to start making some parts for my Shelby this winter. I'll be subscribing and looking forward to the future videos. Any opportunity to document how you would do a splitter with honeycomb mesh in it, or spoiler for example? That's mostly what I've got questions about :)

    Very informative! Thank you for these vids and please keep them coming. Would you be able to say what infusion resin you used in the the video and what are gel and cute times. Also did you post cure the panel? Thanks!

      I use Rhino Linings. Theres several to choose from tho. ProSet makes some as well I was looking into. Cure times depend entirely on mix ratio (I can mix fast and slow any ratio I want) and tempature.

    Question?........... I want to do an airplane wing skin. I hope to do both sides at the same time. Infusion process. Using the uphill technique so leading edge is low spot. Wing is about 15 feet long by 4 feet high. 2 ply of carbon fiber .012" thick each play. About $2,000.00 in fabric for one wing panel (left and right sides). Can it be done? How many resin inlets should it have? I plan to use the spiral tube type to help with the start. How many pump ports should be used? More than one pump needed? How massive a pump do I need?. Many questions as I just getting started. I do have the Wing "plug". I will use micro balloons to smooth out the surface that is the outside. The inside next to the plug mold is not the surface I need smooth obviously.
    Thanks!

      Erik 567 sounds like it will work but will require post finishing since you will be left with the peel ply finish.

      @@ajhartmanaero OK thanks. I will try with fiberglass as a start and learn all the problems that will come up.

    what do you use to prep the mirror? any sort of wax to help it release?

    • @ajhartmanaero
      @ajhartmanaero  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use a chemical release from ChemTrend. Any mild release should work tho.

    Is there a limit to the number of layers you can do with infusion? I'm looking to making approximately 1/8" thick sheets to machine knife scales out of

    • @ajhartmanaero
      @ajhartmanaero  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1/8 is definitely doable. I bet there is an ultimate thickness, but its probably like over an inch thick of solid carbon.

      Great thanks for the reply! I was going to just buy premade plates but after seeing some of your videos I decided to take it on and make my own with different colored fabrics and such
