From the 1970s to the 1990s, the standard light tank of the U.S. Army was the M551 Sheridan and the military was actively looking to replace it with another maneuverable tracked vehicle with improved firepower. One of those projects was the XM8.

Im very much looking forward to this tank. one of my favourites IRL.
I'm loving AW but could you please buff the Chieftain and the Challenger 1, at the time - the American MBTs (everything above the XM1) are totally dominating. Also I love the high calibre light tanks, you guys really did do a amazing job of giving us fast game play with the addition of engine boosts, smoke and competitive guns :D

+Armored Warfare only thing keeping me from playing is the fact that there is not enough maps :( i understand making them is very demanding, but you definitely should add some more. Maybe some finnish terrain ? :D

+der Sloth Hey, Sloth! There are currently 9 PvP maps and like 25 PvE maps in the game (some of the PvE maps however are disabled in order to correct some of the technical issues connected with them). We do not want currently to spam maps because we do feel the new players would be overwhelmed. Thank you for understanding.

+Armored Warfare Are you planning on tweaking the XP (reputation) needed in order to unlock new vehicles? Going from T4 to T5 is a huge jump, and everything after that needs (in my opinion) an insane amount of grinding. It would take, in my calculations, at least a hundred battles (with premium) to unlock a T6 tank. In World of Tanks (sorry for comparing to that, but it's a clear competitor), I only had to drive around 40-50 battles (also with premium) in my T5 tank before I could unlock the next one. I feel that you need to play way too many battles to unlock higher tier stuff.

+CKshouta As of right now, the devs have announced that ramming damage is being kept low intentionally while they work out some of the bugs and details.
... and if you're impatient - then you can buy VFM 5, which is basically a same hull with British turret minus those cool armour upgrades xD.
+Armchaiirwarrior Yeah that VFM is a harassing beast. Although it has very bad accuracy from a distance. You really need to get up close then the VFM really shines.

I like how they show it jumping around and shit as if that doesn't destroy your tank in game.
I'll have to look closer at this tank in game. I'm all about the fast tracked and wheeled vehicles, a nice break after the slow beasts in WoT.
Already grinding toward this. Light tanks are the way forward.

XM8 from Battlefield Bad Company 2, M8A1 in WoT, M8A1 in Black Ops 2, and now the XM8 in Armored Warfare.

Is Armored Warfare planning on coming to Consoles? Maybe after a year or two?
Anyone else stuck on "fix download paused" when updating to update 0.10 ? it happend to me last update but i fixed it by removing game installation files and allowing it to download the update again but this time its still stuck on it :/ thats my weekend grinding for the of-40 gone

+jifeye Yes, we can say that. VFM was my fav when it was normal tank (still is thou), and XM8 is somehow an upgraded version. Feels nice.
From what I can find about this tank, it look very promising, so... why the US didnt adopt it for their paratrooper? The Russian already have their own light tank, the 2S25 Sprut-SD. Hell the Russian VDV is the only airborne force whose is fully mechanized ( Basically they have armored vehicle that can transport and airdrop for their paratrooper to use).

Hey AW team, great work so far with this game. I played AW from the head start up until now on a daily basis (without playing a single match in WoT). Today I though, ok, lets play a match of good ol' WoT an see how it feels. And boy was it an awful experience. Everything is soooo slow and sluggish. it's unbearable really. I thought I played in slow-mo.
I did the same yesterday, took my E25 out for a spin, and man did it feel slow. Kinda odd since back when I just played wot that was one of the most mobile tanks. I cant go back now, AW or die!
Where is the US Army going to get the funding to restart this program? Unless we have found a way to both make it air droppable and still fit the additional armor packages on to it. I don't think the light brigades are looking to add something this big and loud to the type of operations they are currently running. As for the "Stryker," that is a platform for the new medium weight brigades. More born from the lessons learned from the NATO mission dealing with Bosnia. (Rolling in with the 1st Armored Division ((1996)) was impressive, but the country's infrastructure couldn't support the long term deployment needed for that area.)

It doesn't matter until you sort out the match making. Teams are terrible and they get worse the higher the tier.
You balance the maps and you balance the tanks but then you don't balance the players so you get too many 12-0 roflestomps. To make matters worse try and bring this up on the forums and silentstalker will swoop in and shut the thread.
If you don't sort the match making out and introduce balanced teams with at the very least skill based but preferably league based match making you are just wot 2.0 and people will quit playing for the exact same reasons.
