      Do disc brake bleeding and or rear derailleur install / adjustments. Also fitting a NEW out of the box chain for a new setup with no reference IE a chain that had already been on the bike would be another good video TH-cam is scarce for a good one of those.

    Didn't really think I'd learn anything since I've now installed two if these but the way Liam measures out the cable to find the spot to trim it was very informative.

    I just installed one of these. Pretty easy job for me especially since I replaced a failed post and the housing was already cut very close to length. I have one important nit pick. They are installing a metal seat post into a carbon frame. It's VERY important to use an anti-seize compound on the post. Galvanic corrosion can become a problem very rapidly in this scenario.

    Thx for the video - received my Transfer today and installed it easily thx to this clip. The only difference with the 2020 model appears to be a change to the lever design, but it's essentially the same just without the tuck-in recess for the cable end.

  • @surfjat15
    @surfjat15 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm confused, instead of all this measuring can't you theoretically just insert the dropper with the cable and cable housing already ran through the bike and connected to the dropper, set it at the proper height for the way you ride , then pull the slack out at the top then just pull the cable tight and secure it at the lever?

    • @Caballeroshot
      @Caballeroshot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah if you want an extremely long cable housing come out of your bike. Notice he measured so the housing would match the length of the existing brake cable for a clean look.

    • @kmannc
      @kmannc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Caballeroshotlol yeah once the dropper is in and the housing slack is pulled out then you’d just cut it to match. All that measuring was a waste of time and honestly a riskier way to do it

    How important is the cable bushing? I just bought a used transfer post that is missing the bushing and can’t find any place that has it in stock. Tried using a bushing from a KS dropper, but it’s too thick and keeps the post actuated even though the remote isn’t pressed. Now I’m using straight cable w/o bushing and it’s working fine. Guess I’ll keep it like that until I can find a bushing or if the cable snaps or something.

    Hi! Just got my fox transfer post installed, but it wont rise smoothly. It rises about 10cm and then I have to lift the rest by hand. What do you think might be wrong? It doesnt matter if the seatpost is clamped or not, still doesnt go up as it should!

    • @twistedneck
      @twistedneck 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually it’s because your seat collar is too tight. Too tight and it binds up the moving shaft in the outer. Try and loosen the collar and see if the post will operate.

    Hi everyone, can you help me with this: can I use the a Fox Transfer seat post, in a half way run position? some people have told me that I can only use all the way up, or all the way down. I have done my research and that applies to the SL model, not for just the Transfer. Thank you.

    Do you guys recommend any carbon paste in the seat tube?

    • @WorldwideCyclery
      @WorldwideCyclery  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Only if the post is having an issue holding with the proper torque spec for your frame. If it sits fine at the recommended torque spec and doesn't move then it's not really needed.

    • @TheGuyWho3415
      @TheGuyWho3415 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely, especially with the transfer. At recommended frame torques, the transfer has been known to bind up and not reach full extension on some bikes. Carbon paste can make this a non-issue

    I just bought a 175mm Fox Transfer 31.6 Performance series from you guys and installed it. I was wondering if I got a defective post or if there is a break in period as the remote (Wolftooth) requires an insane amount of thumb pressure in order to actuate the post and then to get the saddle to drop all the way down requires a lot of saddle pressure, especially for the last inch or so (it seems to get harder as the seat goes lower). I have a Fox Transfer 125mm on my other bike with the same WT remote and its WAY easier to actuate and lower the seat. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Would it be easier to just hook up the dropper and put it in, then cut the cable for the switch? You wouldn't need to measure at all.

    • @kmannc
      @kmannc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bingo. This approach makes no sense at all, you’re honestly running the risk of cutting your housing too short this way. That was all such a waste of time
