And I finally got my bike to where yours WAS before this... Man that thing is on another level, eventually I hope to get mine to full cholo. That's the best stretched rear fender I've seen, love how it outlines the rear wheel perfect.
One video in & I’m hooked! For my 50th, the wife gave the go ahead to get a “Bike”. Been searching & settled on... Road King style meets vintage vibe. Found a few brands I like so far, & now Bam! Your vids will help me plan it right, when I finally get There! Thanks, man!
Good Evening to you Joe , I've being watching ALL of your Video's... Which INSPIRED me of Rebuilding my 2007 Sportster Xl883C..... I've Chopped it by remodeling it with Lighter Aftermarket Less lighter metal parts..... It looks great .....by you pushing me and Others ...of doing it at Home yourself... Thanks JEFF You..... Thank you so much my brother for these spectacular videos about your softail. Mine is still raw, there's a lot to be done. Here in Brazil it's difficult because the material is all imported and it's a fortune, but I won't give up my HD becoming a Cholo Softail! Success bro!
Brodie I’ve been watching your channel for so long now and I even bought a deluxe and started cholo it out because of yours hope your doing good love the videos man I watch them all night keep it uo
I’m glad to see you back man, since the last time we spoke I bought a 96 fatboy started a cholo myself but I was way ahead of the game because the previous owner has done some really good clean mods.you inspired this man.wanted to get a deluxe but this bike is so clean, one owner and it sounds amazing because of the carb.please keep up the work dude, you have some of the best videos on TH-cam right now, content and quality
I have a question 🤔 why did you go with Pickard fenders instead of the bad dad fender?..I notice bad dad fenders more expensive and the fiberglass is thicker,..is there a certain look ? Or were you going to have any issues with certain fenders? I'm thinking of going with Bagdad rear and Pickard front..but bad dad doesn't sale a smooth fender for rear 😞
Nothing wrong with the bad dad fenders, just got one for my RK and it looks awesome. They can pre-paint them too. I went with pickard to be a little different, and I liked the sleeker look. The downside to the pickard rear fender is that at stock ride height it won't look as dumped as the bad dad fender because of the higher fender sidewall. However, if you decide to layframe the bike with a bad dad fender you may run into problems with the extra sidewall touching the wheel pulley.
@@JETFILMCHANNEL what else you going do to her? Man bro I have not did much to my Solftail ran out of money. I got figure something out lol to get this bike done . Bet that shotgun air ride cost u a pretty Penny . U motivate me Brother.
It's an expensive game for sure, and this build didn't happen overnight. I've been at it for 3 years now, piece by piece. Doing the work yourself and the philosophy of "buy once, cry once" will dramatically reduce costs.
Yeah, it's a HOK paint called Sno White Pearl. I had my painter double the applied coats to achieve a slightly more off-white color without getting the yellowing effect. I think it came out nicely, it's not an extreme pearl, but it's definitely there.
Thanks man, I really dig the style of these fenders. I think "bad dad" had a pretty sick rear fender too, I almost went with them. Got another big film coming out very shortly
Like always, awesome video brother. What company did the pipes? Do you have to Dyno the after? Do the pipes have heat shields so they wont turn blue ? Thank you.
Thanks man, the pipes are made by steady custom cycles. No dyno, because it really didn't change, except for 4 additional inches of pipe. No heat shields either, just like the samsons. I guess because it's straight pipe and it's far enough away from the source of the heat that they'll never get hot enough to turn blue, just my guess. We'll see though.
That Cholo Machine look mean Bro. S&S 475 cam is a must if u love the way they rap in the upper RPM wait when u hear it at a idle. It will sound Nuckley. Right now it sounds like any bike with Samson exhaust
Been wanting cams for about a year now. Something else always comes up. Not too many cholos here on the east coast, they are here but it's pretty rare to see one
I lived in SC for 3 years and now in GA.....still haven't seen another cholo. All i see is baggers, which i like......but i love my cholo much better and being the only makes it even better IMO.
The way I see it, let them all have the same bike, all road glides/street glides. When you ride up jake braking those non-baffled fishtails on a full Cholo you just became the new sheriff in town.
I have a 08 heritage softail slowly getting there got a big ol 21 on the front and 18 inch apes right now and I got the headlights you bought in a previous video
Nice, yeah it's a timely and expensive process. I've been working on this build for over 3 years. Lots of people want to build a cholo in a week, but unless you have an extra $15k for parts lying around and a team of mechanics then it'll take months or years. Keep up the building and good luck with that heritage.
John, absolutely love what you've done. You're setting the bar pretty high for us wannabee cholo builders. Question: how did you attach the wiring to the new stretched rear fender?
sweet build my deluxe was totaled recently and im looking at these pickard fenders and a 21" front wheel did you need to do anything to the triple tree?
When you talk about measuring your pipe is that from the Tip of the fish tail to the part that goes into the head pipe or what? I have Freedom 39in and they look like the same length as your sampson 36in but they measure 39in from fishtail tip to head pipe. Just curious because i believe i may run into the fender being to long for my pipes.
The real way to measure it is tip to head pipe. SCC advertises their pipes 2"+ because they count the 2" that overlaps into the header. I ordered their 42" pipe, which makes it a true 40".
Like I said before absolutely beautiful bike. I’ll go as far as to say that I think it’s the most beautiful cholo I’ve seen. Now every time I think of cholo, every photo I see I compare to this bike. I’ve watch all of your cholo related videos. Damn I love that bike. I have a beautiful road glide and now I will be planning a cholo damn it
I cut and spliced everything using butt-connections, but a couple months later I went back in and soldered everything together. I recommend soldering, it's just a better and more permanent connection.
JT whats up. So question, i know you didn’t want to give bad advice about that rear fender electrical work , but just curious because i picked up that Pickard rear fender also, what did you use or how did you route the wires from the tail light to the battery? Or whatever wires you ran.. did you use any clips ? How did you attach them to the fender if you did, or did you route using the fender struts…ok that’s more than one question.
Nasty cholo love it been following for so time now bike come a long way looks awesome!! Keep the videos coming see you at myrtle beach I’ll be there also!!
