    Happy Sunday! We hope you are enjoying this Nebraska road trip as much as we are... we were so impressed by all that we discovered in Nebraska. We've included a few more interesting facts about Gothenburg and Ogallala in the description of this video. We're loving all of the suggestions for more to see and do on our next trip to Nebraska; keep them coming! We will definitely be back!

    As Texans, you must not have read the book or seen the mini-series, “Lonesome Dove” by Archer City, Texas author, Larry McMurtry. They have a cattle drive to Ogallala.
    Remember when visiting Nebraska, the wind stop blowing one time and everybody fell down!

    • @rvamericayall

      We didn’t see the mini series but will now look it up, thanks!

    Everyone thinks there is nothing in Nebraska except cornfields. We have so many gems when u get off the interstate.

    This is the origin point of the Ogallala aquifer which supplies ground water to West Texas and Eastern NM. Sadly, its supplies are depleted due to drought and over dependence. It was once the largest in the world. Thanks for sharing.

    Great video! You missed a good sight to see in North Platte, NE. It is the Golden Spike Tower at Union Pacific’s largest rail yard. It about a 45 min drive east of Ogallala on I-80. In Gering, NE, we recommend staying at the Robidoux RV Park. It’s a very nice city owned park with FHU and a view of the Scottsbluff National Monument out your front window. Have a great trip!

    When you return to Ogallala you might enjoy going north to Lake McConaughey. They excellent natural white sand beaches great fishing etc. We recommend booking ahead. Our favorite is Lone Eagle campground.

    Goethenburg and Ogallala is a must stop little towns! That salad bar topped it off. 🤣😂 Ogalalla was a pretty wild and wooly place in the Days of the Texas cattle drives. It was pretty lawless. Those outdoor plays are always fun too. Thanks!

    Thank you for highlighting Ogallala. Proud you can pronounce Ogallala. Parents had a motel there in 1967. Front Street was the place. Had a french dip there last week that was great!!!!!!. Don't forget Lake Mac just 20 miles north. Great for spring and fall camping.

    Hello, I enjoy your videos. We are new to RVing as of December 2021. We have been dry camping on Texas beaches and RV parks. We rode through Bolivar Beach Club and RV Resort. It has the individual pet fenced areas at the RV spots. It is opened but still not finished. Our beach experiences on Bolivar and Surfside beaches were great. Safe travels. Houston and Texas Proud

    Hey, thanks for the info. We’ve stayed in Ogallala before at one of the KOA‘s and we went to boot Hill, then the weather turned bad, luckily no tornado just rain. I’m glad you’re includes places to eat because the next time we go through there We will have to try some of those out. Haven’t stopped at the pony express but it’s on my bucket list. Thanks again, from Southeast Texas!💜

    • @rvamericayall
      @rvamericayall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but not a full CDL. In Texas anything over 26,000 lbs. we are 38,500
