We absolutely LOVED our time at Scotts Bluff National Monument! If you missed last week's video where we shared our campground during the week and other things we did in the area, you can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/pWW2HxGBEVw/w-d-xo.html . Have a great week! We can't wait to share the Summit Trail hike with you next Sunday! Oh my goodness, what a hike!
Loved your video of Western Nebraska. I was born and raised in the shadow of Scott's Bluff National Monument, in Gering. I have since transplanted to Texas. I did not truly appreciate what was in my own backyard growing up, thanks for showing me what a wonderful place I came from.
Nebraska sure shines in this episode! Who knew Studebaker made wagons? Awesome. Love the OT history.. I have been to areas where you can see the ruts from the wagon trains, nothing like seeing and being there. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures! Can’t wait to see the hike!
I live in Gering Nebraska and I go to Scotts Bluff regularly, i ride the bicycle path up there. It is always interesting to see what people think about our park, I think it's pretty awesome.
LOVE this video of your ongoing journeys. Thank you so much for sharing your travels. FYI you’re in my home state this time. I was in northeast Nebraska, near another river (Missouri). I remember taking the drive to Scott’s Bluff as a kid, imagining what it might have been like to walk that distance behind oxen and wagon, seeing the bluffs get a little closer day after day. Glad to see it so well maintained. What a fun tour. Keep them coming!
Thank you for showing the beauty behind Nebraska, and especially the place I call my home. I was born and raised in Scottsbluff and it fills my heart with happiness to see people traveling to see the beauty of this amazing place. I wish that you have a fun and safe trip seeing the other beautiful sites in our amazing country.
Thanks for the video my family is from Scottsbluff. We live in Echo Oregon now and the Oregon trail passed by 4 miles north of my house now. Scottsbluff is named after Hiram Scott. And a friend of ours is married to his great great granddaughter. And the also and they live out here in Hermiston Oregon. Plus my grandpa carved his name on the top of chimmy rock when he was a kid
I knew the CCC was there. Nation wide the CCC had a hand in so much. That’s a spectacular park. My fam stayed in the NE. My SO’s went by wagon train to the West. Not that long ago
Oh wow. I agree it is pretty cool. Very scenic. In some ways reminds me of the Chihuahuan desert and mountains of West Texas. Though there is more vegetation then there is here. ~ Kevin and Pat
Again, many thanks for sharing this explorative and beautiful part of our vast country. Always enjoy history of the people that came before us to build a life in this USA . Their ups and downs of what they experienced to secure their lifestyle. Beautiful land to witness. Grammy Kay
Thank you for this amazing video! Gering is my hometown!! We visit there every year and always enjoy a stay at Robidoux RV Park. There are so many historical sites in the Platte Valley - I recommend all RVers put it on their to-do list. Well done, Tom and Stacy!
Just north of you is Fort Robinson, and the wildcat hills. This is also a great place laden with history. I don't know your itinerary but it would be well worth your time. Chimney Rock, Court House, and Jail House Rock are east of you. Both very important landmarks on the Oregon trail. You guys are doing a great job on these videos, and look like you are have a great time doing it.
Wonderful video, you all do such a great job. Never been to that part of Nebraska, have to get there soon! Wouldn't be suprised if the National Parks didn't try to talk you into taking a job. Great teacher! Following you to your next adventures. Take Care!
Fun fact: The Conestoga wagon is named for Conestoga, a town in Lancaster County, PA. It’s located along the river of the same name. Thanks for a fun video of one of my favorite parts of the country.
We didn't realize this park was so nice! On our US travel map, we don't have the Nebraska sticker but have all the surrounding states because we didn't know that there was such a great park in Nebraska! Now I know we can fill in this state sticker by spending a few days near Scott's Bluff. Thanks for this video! @BigDogRV
Oh gee this is awesome. While watching I thought that this video is something that 50 years into the future folks will get to enjoy. Love the adventure of histories past as well as how each state has it's own imprint to the United States. Thanks as enjoyed. Love y'all and do stay safe.
Wish I had known you were in the area in July, I would have mentioned some of the area’s highlights for you to see. Maybe next time, cuz it really is a pretty area, rich in history too. I just happen to have a big driveway with 50 amp hookup as well. We snowbird in AZ and our friends stop by and stay when they’re headed home before summer. Just planting an idea for free camping 😀
Hey Dawn! Thank you! We use the small, spiral bound National Parks Passport book that is sold at the parks. It is also available on Amazon: amzn.to/3xSP3XP

we have seen a lot of CCCwork all incredable
Totally agree!
Was that a balistics vest on the Park Ranger?! 😯 Seemed little odd but maybe standard gear now during historical interpretation. 🤔
Not sure but he is a full police officer as well.
Drive to the of Scottsbluff x 4 speed. The camera or you driving? Haha
Nebraska will always be home to me, even I'm in other places
😂
Hey guys, that park ranger is really from Texas? Went to Lamar University? If that is, that's awesome!!!
He’s from Nebraska but yes, he went to Lamar University! 😊
