Surprised there's no Part 3. I'm writing this in the year that the ' Tea Chest Tapes ' have started to be released; a truly worthwhile, historical achievement. Whilst it'll be heard on them just why ! most of them should never ! have been released, (after all, Meek was hardly nostalgic himself,writing ' Cr*p ' on at least one of them; rubbing-off material by reusing them; and turning them round, to reuse, causing sound-noise on playback); nonetheless, I see it this way: if there were recordings by famous people, say, Queen Victoria, or Sir Walter Raleigh, singing as atrociously as Meek can be heard ' singing ', I think we'd like to hear them; not just as a very useful corrective to remind the more sentimental amongst us that the romanticism that the ever-increasing distance between contemporary times and those of our yesterdays creates, but simply because they are very interesting. All old 78's languishing now in charity shop baskets of artists hardly in-demand, such as military bands, should be transcribed. The masters being I imagine now destroyed, once the last 78 of those few minutes of humaity is briken, that opportunity to learnanything from it shall have gone. They aren't valued, because they haven't acquired that ' value ' of being old enough, which they'll never eventually be, when the last one is broken.
i am not gay... just wish Joe had of lived on,, he would have seen more support in the world. love you Joe, your an inspiration for music sound.. JOE! ye should have hung in and feck the media. wish i had a time machine to go back & helped him over his traumas. your a wonerful person, ye shouldn't have shot your landlady for sure!!! but,, I so wish there was someone there to help him..most humans are just twats, gobshites..wish i could have went back in time to steer him...lv L x
