    Welcome back to Pool Addiction! Today I am reviewing the BeCue Prime M 12.0mm carbon fiber shaft. This shaft came out around the same time as the Cuetec Cynergy and is meant to be in the league of the Cynergy and Revo. It has BeCue’s own special Aurora Technology that makes it unique in its overall design. I hope you enjoy this review and I hope you consider subscribing if you haven’t already. Also, hit that like button if you liked the video and comment below, I always do my best to answer your comments. Thanks for watching!

    Ive been watcing this guy alot lately and let me start by saying thanks for making these. This is the most informative pool product review channel on TH-cam at the moment and the videos are produced really well and high quality. How in the heck he only has 2.88k subscribers as of June 6th 2022 is a mystery to me. This guy's reviews blow away everyone elses.

    I have an xlr8 custom carbon fiber shaft and it is outstanding. I tried the cuetec and Predator and like this more. No loud sound because of wooden connection and smooth with no reflection. With my choice of tip it was $300.00 to my door. Great value!

    The "grain" pattern looks exactly like the Pechauer Rogue. However, the finish is a lot smoother on the Rogue. Perhaps they use the same supplier? Great review, been looking forward to this video!

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can barely fell the grain but it’s definitely not as slick as the Cynergy or Revo. I really like this shaft, it is quickly becoming my regular player. The Kamui black soft is a huge improvement over the stock tip but I am rather disappointed in Kamui’s quality. I’ve been hearing how they’re not what they used to be and this tip is mushrooming on me a lot. Still plays well though.

    • @TheBilliardCorner
      @TheBilliardCorner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PoolAddiction That's surprising, every Kamui I've put on has been top notch quality with no mushrooming. I can't say I've tried their newest batch though. There are a lot of fakes out there. Thanks for the review! Always been curious about this shaft.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a fake but don’t know how old it was. First time I’ve had this happen with a Kamui. I’ve been playing mostly with Kamuis for years now and this is the first time for me. I hope it’s just a fluke. I remember when Moori tips were the best out there and then their quality went downhill and that’s when I switched to Kamui.

    I have a Revo, 12.9, and I like it. The BQ has an audible stroking hiss that I dont like, b/c it says less smooth. Smoothness is in my top 3. Other musts are tip sz, and shaft length (30", min). You noticed Revo had loosened its joint a bit after short period. Never happened to me, actually have to reduce torque or need a musclular take down.
    I run out 8-ball, often enough for me, now. I love laboring, to excel and am very
    confident my LR carb/fib will improve my innings avgs. (20% ?)
    Speed control,.. cant teach .. so lots of
    addicted practice is such a beloved curse. PS: Good site.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the audible noise can be annoying. IT doesn't bother me too much but I do wish it was smoother. They tried to mimic wood grain and I believe that's why you an audible noise. I know with Radial joints, they tend to do that with some after market shafts. I have been trying to practice as much as I can but I have been real busy lately. I am glad you like the channel and videos! Thanks for watching and your support!

    Nice review, I just subscribed. I have been playing the BeCue for about 3 years now and I really like the shaft, but the newer core tip really sucks. These shafts originally came with an Ultra Skin medium and it was very much to my liking, so it's an easy fix. But yeah, a great shaft with excellent hit and feel. I will never play wood again for the simple reason of consistency with carbon fiber that is just impossible with wood. Add to that that it will never warp, even if you keep it in a car for long periods of time. As far as I'm concerned carbon fiber is the greatest advancement in cue technology ever. Now, thanks to you, I will be getting a Cynergy to check it out as I prefer a soft hit, actually I consider the BeCue hit to be soft, but I always like to try new things.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The becue is my regular player. There’s just something about it, smooth hit and feel and it seems to be very forgiving with the hit. What I mean by that is when I feel like my shot was a little off, I still made the shot. I agree the core tip sucks. The kamui black soft plays a lot better. I haven’t tried an ultra skin, however, I’ve spoke with people that say it plays like kamui tips but they’re easier on the wallet. In my opinion, the cynergy hits softer than the becue, especially with a soft tip. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked the video!

    • @killerbilliards
      @killerbilliards 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love my becue too! I see people say they arent impressed with it but i cant see how. Ive shot with all diff cues and the becue just sits right with me. One thing I learned Dont put an ultrasoft tip on cue and strike hard. Youll split the carbon. At least i did anyway. They sent me a rellacement. My becue stays in my trunk at all times. Whole reason I got it. I absolutely love it. I just started up this channel if you're interested in seeing some becue compilations and games in future. Work has me tied down for holiday but I'll be back to shooting and editing soon.

Not really digging the taper on the smaller shaft, I'm going to play with both for a while and see if it's just an adjustment phase for the 12.5. Really interested to see some reviews on the new Engage shaft that is stiffer with a longer taper. Not sure if they are going in the right direction with it, but we'll see what the reviews say and hopefully I can try one out soon.

      Nice to hear you like the Becue Prime M. I did have the opportunity to test out 2 different prototypes of the Engage earlier this year and I have to say they were both good, however, one of of them stood out as one of the best CF shafts I have played with so far. That prototype, to me, felt even better than the Prime M. I don't know which version they went with but I hope it was the one I liked the most. Ultra low deflection and amazing spin and energy transfer. Because I was testing it for them I wasn't able to do any video reviews on them but I did document the testing. My contact with Becue has not replied back to me since doing the testing so I don't know which version they went with. It was awesome that I got to be a part of their testing and reviews to help them with their product. Honestly, that has been the best experience so far since starting this channel. I think beginners should use a 13 mm. Especially for first two yrs of training. Which in my opinion those first two yrs. You should only practice your stroke between two upside down golf tees. So you get a natural straight stroke before you ever hit a ball. Once you start shooting master no English and using angles off rails to get in position for two yrs. Then switch to a smaller tip if you want but learn the game first.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment! It's not so much it plays like wood physically. It's more like the feel of shooting with it is similar to wood. Most don't like a big departure from what they are used to. As far as long term use with regards to carbon fiber, I am not a structural engineer but they do make a wide range of equipment from carbon fiber they require a lot of strength and durability like aircraft and car parts so I think there should be something to be said about that. From my work experience I know that carbon fiber will breakdown quickly if it has damage where the fiber material is exposed, however, it usually takes a significant action to make that kind of damage.
