@@codylovelace2237 yes I hunt 🤦♂️not saying the hunter highlighted in the video needs an hour of film but they could definitely make these ONCE A FRIECKING WEEK videos more than 20 mins long. Someone said the same thing in the comments of the last video. Now my question is do you even hunt? Watch any other group of hunter on TH-cam and their videos are usually more than 20 mins long. Don’t have to be all about the kill. Tell a story with the longer videos, use film from camp or anything else.
I thought they did good. They could add another element to it back at camp and have them compete for pick of spots and such maybe. They could add content but at the same time quality content is appreciated.
As the editor (Jared here) these 20-22 min vids are a TON of work and sadly most guys won’t sit through a 30+ min video so we try to keep them a little shorter. We appreciate the feedback tho! And thanks for watching!
I am a hunter as well but I also track deer for the public. It would blow your mind what a good dog will do. A good, proven dog would have found that deer in 10 minutes. It is unbelievable how many trophy deer are left unrecovered. I would highly recommend you get a proven tracker's contact information in your area just in case. Awesome video and congrats on the buck!!!
Honestly one of the best videos I have ever seen. Brutally honest and real. I will share this with all my buddies. So many good things to take away from his hunt. God bless and thank you for sharing the raw emotion.
Your not a bowhunter if you've never had that sick in the stomach remorseful feeling. But that feeling pushes us to work harder and appreciate the game we chase even more. Im glad you didn't give up and that you found him. Congratulations on a beautiful buck.
I think he deserves at least 5 points more for his decision to switch trees showing the ease of using a Tethrd hunting system. Glad that one was recovered, awesome buck 👍
Alright....what's that brace that you have separating your bridge?? Something that'll be available soon or DIY homemade thing?? That will help my sits big time. BTW, I bet that was a high lung shot and judging by how flexible he was, he wasn't dead for that long. You'd have been chancing him all night likely. Good buck and just goes to show that you never give up.
The rod? Genesis 3D makes and and sells them. Google that name and click there webpage when it comes up. They actually make a bunch of variety of products for saddle hunting.
I was thinking the exact same thing. If he didn’t bend and flex the head and make it loose. Then that deer wasn’t dead long at all!!! Awesome buck and video.
Love the videos. Love the hunts. But I have to be honest I got ticked when you gave up the search. With all the men you have out there a grid search should have been done. I would never give up that quick. Great deer congrats on recovery.
Im sorry but how did all these experienced guys think it was a non lethal hit? Also, the tracking job was atrocious. But glad they got the deer before it rotted.
Can’t see it on video, but after 60 yards the buck basically walked off like he wasn’t hurt. Arrow had fat/grease on it, video looked like it was too high/forward. Clearly we were wrong tho. We also looked for several hours off camera in that area. There just wasn’t any blood to follow after roughly 100 yards. He fooled us for sure!
I’ve commented before on 1st episode but holy cow man what a cool show. Every aspect of this is just phenomenal. I would love to be on one of these teams, such a cool experience. Thanks for bring this to all of us!
Wow what an amazing video. I shot two does yesterday morning and one of them I thought was never gonna die and I took an extra few hours and found her a little over half a mile from the shot.
It's good to see that you actually care about the animal.Too many hunters don't. Fixed broadheads have a much better recovery rate expandables and fly great. The whole competition for killing something is very immature.
Thank you so much for breaking that down like you did man that is awesome and it helps me out. Am I hunting so much cuz I have a area that's similar with ridges like that and I've been having trouble locating where they're exactly at. It's a whole new property of like 200 acres and my first guesses haven't been so hot so I'm going to use what you just showed me. Thank you!
Nice 3yr old. All that movement in that tree was crazy. One of the many reasons I’ve never been inclined to saddle hunt. However, it’s also proof that the extra movement can be beneficial. Good work
Definitely move a ton in a saddle compared to other hunting systems, the THP guys did a interesting segment in a video about that. Also, the deer in SC pick you out from 300 yards if you blink too much but I think that's due from our insanely long rifle season.
@@roqy9247 the mature deer in Indiana will pick you out real quick. Even most 3yr olds will pick you off. Got lucky. And sometimes that’s all ya need lol
This video is a prime example as to why I'll never ever use a saddle. Yea he got the deer, luckily, because it didn't see him up there turning from one side to the other having to raise your bow over you head to get it over the tether.... and no it wasn't the camera it was under the tether. In a regular mobile lock on or lightweight climber there is none of that nonsense. I'm so surprised he didn't get busted with all of that movement. Comical
Yeah.. I breathe hard down here in the south and they freak out. Whole different animal. That being said I have a lot of friends that have plenty of success in them. I have a saddle but end up using my light sticks and my millennium ultralight (8#) most of the time though.
My experience in the past , when a deer makes the loud groaning noise when hit with an arrow, always meant a heart or upper ventricles shot. I thought that shot was a good shot , considering the steep angle.. always aim at the lower third. Awesome hunt and great deer. You got talked into giving up on him the first day, don't beat yourself up about it.
Man I thought this same thing. I’ve helped a buddy grid search over a mile before, personally I would’ve kept looking the day of the shot but I’m glad he found him in the end. Unfortunately we didn’t find my buddies deer due to not being able to get enough permission to search on private just before gun season.
So when gutting the deer what vitals did he hit? My guess is one lung and the edge of the heart and the blood pooled in the chest after the buck slow down causing the blood trail slow stop. Congrat on a great buck and awesome video!
Beautiful buck, sir and awesome filming💪🏼 I was grinding my teeth when you guys dogged it off, because I would’ve had my nose on the ground digging for specks of blood😂
Temps never got out of the 70’s so unfortunately the meat wasn’t good. We looked for several hours off camera and just could turn anything up. Just a crappy situation really
Great, honest video. This series is awesome!! Question: Did you pack that deer out on the FAS pack? I didn't think that pack was rigid enough for packing meat out. Am I wrong?
Jared here, I packed out three bucks with the FAS pack alone last year. It ain’t comfortable but you can 100% do it and the pack holds up great! I suggest fashioning a waist belt using a compression strap tho. It helps a lot. 👍🏻
@tethrdnation On Jared's setup, what is that gray bar that runs across his saddle line bridge?? What's the purpose?? Less pressure on your hips? where do I get one??
Glad you found him. Just my 2 cents, from the video he seemed to have the majority of his vitals covered up by the tree and would have been nice to have him take one more step before you shot.
He was actually wide open to me, remember the camera angle is a bit different than what I could see. Figured I was at full draw and he stopped himself so send it! Thanks for watching!!
And hell based on that exit hole it’s good you hit there since he was quartered to. If you’d have hit a foot back like you said you might’ve caught the back one king and exited guts

That’s a Marsupial Gear harness
