Can we just mention how Cersei looked at Joffrey after he told dude to take off Ned Stark’s head? She knew it was wrong, she knew he shouldn’t do it. He promised mercy but killed Ned anyways.
She didn't care about morality, she didn't want Ned executed because she knew the North would be outraged and rise against them.

A ruler who seeks a peaceful reign (which the Lannisters definitely want right at the time, with the Baratheon bros are trying to duke it out for the throne) must dispense good judgment. Ned, the patriarch of a powerful house, Warden of the North, allied to the Arryns (another powerful house), the appointed regent of the king, and a popular leader who was well-liked by his subjects, must not be killed. Especially not after he pledged allegiance to Joffrey. That's supposed to be their goal for the short-term: use him to add more combatants to the coming war against the Lannisters. Then after he outlived his usefulness, dispose of him and his house.

She started as the best of the Lannisters and ended as the worst. Not that being the best of them is much of a compliment.
To me the Lannister just bring back the politics and strategy of the show. It makes you forget about all the fantasy and magic for a second and just encompasses power and cunningness

No matter how much you don't want to admit it House Lannister was your favourite; they were like the Slytherins- cunning, ambitious, realistic, and ready to face the harshness of the world with a smile and a sword. House Lannister could have lasted...had Cersei not messed things up ...which was really just due to bad writing-
House Lannister was set to fail, because they always thought only about the short term.

The Lannisters are so thematically perfect. House sigil: Lion. Familiar hair color: gold. Main association: wealth. Source of wealth: gold. The most common saying about them is both a source of credit and an implied threat at the same time. Not to mention the dynamics between all the family members are perfect, particularly with Tywin and Tyrion. They are easily the most brilliantly crafted part of GoT in my eyes

Someone said "how can anyone be a Lannister fan?" And I was like it's easier than you think. I mean love them or hate them they're iconic, some of the best written characters in the whole show. Even Joffrey, when he died I realized how much I loved hating him, that little shit was entertaining af. Even tho I'm team green in hotd I can say Hightowers' depressed asses can never be like them.
Jack Gleason is a phenomenal actor, the hunger and glee in his eyes as he has Ned killed, and the fear and confusion when he dies are just some examples of how great he is. It really saddens me what happened.

I just realized the level of detail in the opening sequence. Each of the Lannisters is shown from the back, and directly after them, their specific victims are shown in a flash cut that corresponds with the shouts in the song, as though the victims themselves are crying out. Cersei is followed by Margaery realizing she's going to die in the Sept of Baelor; Jaime, by the Mad King, as he's climbing the steps up to the Iron Throne to stab him in the back; Tyrion, by the soldiers burnt by Wildfire in Blackwater Bay thanks to his plan; Tywin, by Catelyn screaming in anguish at the Red Wedding, which he engineered with Walder Frey and Roose Bolton; and Joffrey, with what I think is the City Watch killing Robert's bastards at his decree.
That's some freakin' awesome editing.

The Lannister Family is full of interesting & complex characters
My fave is Cersei as she is a really affascinating & multi-Layered character.
I also loved her Journey & she has so much iconic & cool scenes, quotes & comebacks. Besides, Lena Headey did her so much justice.
But also the others members of it are really interesting especially Tyrion, Jaime & Tywin (show basing tho, in the Book only J is more Multi-Layertechnik)

this family has a pretty epic history. Now that I think about it, pretty much any family could have been the focus of the series without any outsiders' POV. The Lannisters, Starks, Targaryens, and Baratheons, and Martells especially. But no one does family drama like the Lannisters
Lannisters really made GoT tbh. Of course we all loved the Starks but the insanity and chaos of the Lannisters was just... ugh
The Lannister are awesome, but the Targaryens beat them when it comes to family drama. The sheer amount of civil wars that erupted between their rival branches while they were in power was utterly ridiculous.
@@Dawn-qi5er true but i consider the different Targ factions to be largely separate from a standard family unit. Their cultural practices guaranteed drama but the taboo nature of the lannisters we get to know created a lot more drama in a smaller scale. The dance of dragons is an epic tale but they are so alien to the rest of Westeros compared to the very image conscious lannisters working for different goals while the judgement of the country hangs over them even if the lions won't admit to caring about their opinions.

After all, the Lannister outplayed everysingle house in Westeros, dealing the final blow to targaryens, winning a war against Tully's and Stark's, arresting the Tyrells(Killing them in the show), killed a dornish prince, wiped out of the map the combined forces of the stormlands in only one battle. Lannister are the pure meaning of family, leadership and power.
Cersei outplayed the High Sparrow, the Tyrells would've gotten away thanks to margaery if he hadnt stopped them

Also because al the fighting was already done, Rheagar was dead and with him the Targaryen dynasty. When Tywin came to King's Landing with his army, the mad king thought he came as a friend, since Tywin was his old hand.

Instead of waiting Lannister lives and resources fighting for a King he hated, he waited until he was certain of the victor, and in one fell swoop eliminated the Targaryens, secured Roberts trust, and set up his grandchildren to be the rulers of Westeros.

But it's a good strategy, to let others do their dirty work. Cersei did the same with the dead on the North, letting her enemies destroy each other. It's a little bit unrealistic how the Starks took everything at the end, I'm not the fan of that, but it is what it is. That dragon should've just killed them all. lol

I’m pretty sure this song is based on the Greek legend of king Midas, who was a greedy king who acquire the power to turn anything he touched into gold, at first he loved his new power, however when he tried to lay down on his bed, it turned to hard, solid gold, then he tried to eat, but his food also turned into gold, then he touched his daughter, and the same happened to her
