Was it required to walk across the suspension bridge?

No. You don't need to go across, you can see it easily from the side. A few people decided not to go on the bridge, and our tour guide Moon made a point of saying you don't have to go on the bridge. So the question must come up a lot.

Catherine, not sure if you’re reading this. Flying to Seoul from Shanghai for a spontaneous trip - with which company did you do this trip? Looks good and professional. Thanks :)

I did it with VIP Travel and booked directly through their website. www.vviptravel.com/tours/dmz-red-suspension-bridge-tour
I was glad I spent the time researching reviews etc and picked VIP, as during my holiday I met others who had travelled on different DMZ tours. From what I can understand the other tours covered all the places to see but did not explain the history and context of the DMZ, or get the timing right so there was no waiting around. I would 100% recommend VIP and my tour guide, Moon.

So cool did they accept your North Korean money at the gift shop??

Ha ha, I spent more on the North Korean money than I did in the gift shop :)

Cathrine I don’t like Kimchi either, I like Soju and Makgeolli, Bibimbap and Gimbap,

Yeah, I am no longer the odd one out. I like Soju, Bibimbap and Gimbap too. But have not yet tried Makgeolli.

There are about 300 different kinds of kimchi.
      They are not all spicy.

And yet, you’re laughing while looking into North Korea.

Don’t worry I often get in trouble for laughing at all the wrong moments, once even when I was delivering my Dad’s funeral eulogy. 😥
