The reason why the pre-commit didnt work is because there is a --no-verify flag in the commit command. This flag ignores the pre-commit. Only post-commit can be used here
Perhaps the issue with printf could be that sh doesn't have a printf built-in, it uses /usr/bin/printf and the script was running with sh as an interpreter. I'm not sure if that could be the issue, it's just a guess.
@@ippsec if you look at 41:17 the redirect is on line 4 & line 5 starts with ".ssh/authorized_keys" the error message at 40:48 makes mention of this. Though that still may not fix what caused the key to not be written. It's always nice to double check line breaks when copying from your terminal. In the end what was done worked so, win I guess. Amazing content as always.
Hi @ippsec i seem to be facing issue with accessing retired machines, I'm a free plan type user...even though it shows free under retired machines tab on the HTB site, like this machine the webpage is not accessible... apologize as I happened to tell u this instead of reporting it on the HTB site....any help will be appreciated...the active machines is accessible without any issues...thanks
As always, you simplify complex topics in a rocky way. Thank you a lot.
