I agree. Being someone that has depression, it's easy for me to feel bad over things or go into a deep dark place over stuff a normal person may handle better. I wish as a society we didn't ask 'how are you?' if you aren't ready to hear an answer that isn't positive. instinctively lying and saying 'I'm fine' so that people don't get weirded out sucks. you're just shoving those bad feelings deeper down instead of being honest. sometimes telling someone who is willing to listen you're not ok can make you feel better. you're actually addressing those feelings and working through them, rather than letting them fester. my depression has gotten to the point where I physically feel weak and tired from constantly having those feelings. I started to feel bad about the fact that I'm making myself feel bad.... at this point, I just try being more rational and tell myself that I'm still here in this moment. my heart is beating, I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food at home, so whatever it is I'm worrying about can't be that bad. sorry for the essay Thanks for the positive feedback guys. P.S. being active, finding a hobby, eating healthy, and avoiding too much solitude help a lot.

Personally, when I struggle to have these live conversations, I will write down my thoughts instead (kinda like you just did). My worst thoughts just go into a private journal, which helps me vent if I am worried about being judged by others.

I've been in a depression as well, and although it has gotten better and I'm not depressed anymore, I feel like once you've been that deep, it's so much easier to slip back to that place. But one of the things that really helped me out of it was honesty. When my depression was at its worst, I was not talking to anyone about my feelings, my mom would ask me everyday how school was and my answer would always be ''as usual''. And when I started opening up and being more honest, I felt better. Honestly, I think honesty is the only real way of connecting to another human being and truly feel like you're happy. You can't be happy when all you stand for is fake, you know? Anyway.. I totally agree with you.

I've suffered with depression my whole life I have found that art has helped me quite a bit with that. Of all the time I've lived so far I have one piece of advice that may be of assistance it is to find a healthy outlet for stress. Note: Art doesn't get rid of my depression it just helps me cope with it. Dealing with your stress is a very healthy thing to do and if you let it build up.. It can lead to depression. Just a bit of insight. I hope this helps somebody out there.

I've suffered with depression my whole life I have found that art has helped me quite a bit with that. Of all the time I've lived so far I have one piece of advice that may be of assistance it is to find a healthy outlet for stress.
Note: Art doesn't get rid of my depression it just helps me cope with it. Dealing with your stress is a very healthy thing to do and if you let it build up.. It can lead to depression. Just a bit of insight. I hope this helps somebody out there.

I love this. Honest and insightful, sometimes the reality of life isn't pretty. Sometimes things won't be great, and even when they are you may still feel 'Meh'. As children we are told all about "the real world" but they don't really prepare you for the monotony and the fact that happiness is not a feeling you can achieve and keep. Happiness isn't a trophy that will sit on your mantel, it will come and go. Great video, I appreciate it.
