Greetings from Aruba 🏝️. Thank you for all vids. Rental will be done in about 2 weeks so we can post pics and Rock 🎸. And with your help, I am motivated to do my best. 🤗
Hey ladies! Great video! On the legal side of things...I'm seeing lengthy waivers on some Airbnb listings saying basically the booking party takes full responsibility for any and all injuries, etc. Do you think there is merit to such waivers? Do you use them?
Great question! We do not include this type of information in our listing for a few reasons. The biggest being that simply including that guests are responsible for XYZ does not actually legally make them responsible so these aren't backed up. Also, it comes off a little aggressive towards your guests before even hosting them. Big fans of getting your own insurance for your business and having a clear understanding of your rights/requirements and rules as a business owner.
Hi! I did want to add if it's a waiver for using equipment or amenities provided. I think this is feasible and would stand up on the legal side of things so long as it was a legal document that was signed. In order to protect the host and the property owner it's quite imperative to have liability waivers signed.
@ Yes, a liability waiver would be different than posting in your Airbnb description! We always encourage other hosts to consult with attorneys and we follow our own advice there too :)
