  • This is the next video in the series on our 1988 Hatteras 65C sport fishing yacht. In this episode we clean, scrape, sand and paint the Lazarette, as well as building a new battery tray for the stern thruster batteries. We also did a few fiberglass repairs is some possible risk areas.
The way the stern thruster battery tray had been installed, it completely blocked access to the Port rudder stuffing box. It is critical to be able to have unrestricted access to shaft and rudder stuffing boxes, as they require frequent checks and attention to keep the sea out of your yacht.
As always, we appreciate your time to check out the video and welcome your questions and comments. Your subscription and likes on our videos help us to know to keep them coming.
    Fair winds and following seas!

Geez man. Your wife does fiberglas work. She's a keeper.

Indeed, she goes along with all the shenanigans it takes to keep our vessel in shape. Life's ultimate companion.

@XERyder I'm building a flats boat from scratch. I just don't see my wife helping me with the glass work. Her help is limited to making me lunch while I work. ...but appreciated none the less.

@@Picasofly That is some important coverage as we tend to skip while on a roll. Once you show someone how easy glass is to do, and what a powerful medium it is, you might be able to get some interest.

Thank you for checking us out. The more you do yourself or at least get involved with, the better you know the vessel and how to see signs of things to come.
