Jeremy Grant I actually just finished reading the story “Blood Games” where Amon infiltrated the Imperial Palace. Apparently, to do so he used concealed displacer fields to “disguise his height and bulk.” I have no idea how this is supposed to work, but that’s their explanation.
Jeremy Grant Hahaha- I was thinking that, too- coincidentally, also about doorways! Like a guard (who’s watching the Custode) hearing someone hit their head on the doorway, and seeing this guy’s head that’s a full foot and a half below the top of the doorway just snap back- “uhh, sir? Something’s a bit ... off in here. Must be some Warp-type shit-“🤣. Or bumping into a guy who you’re not even CLOSE to bumping into- it would take some serious planning to pull something off and have nobody notice.
I was just thinking about useful abilities for the custodes to have and figured shrinking a couple fet might be good. Im imagining girsh-one in a 40 facts video: the "bladerus inflatanum" allows the custodes to spit out 2 of his extra biceps, allowing him to put on a shirt. They grow back minutes later.
Not really. Custodes are Captain America; Space marines are terrifying monsters that can survive in a vacuum, have multiple hearts and other redundant organs, and can spit poison. The Custodes process is the basis of one step of many in the space marine creation process
BoneWulfe what? Custodes are not military police. I think you’re thinking of the Arbites. The Custodes are the Emperors bodyguard and served as his own personal army during the unification wars, great crusades, and Horus heresy. They still to this day act as diplomats, assassins, commanders, advisors on behalf of the Emperor, and above all else his bodyguard. It’s stated all over the place that Custodes just butcher marines even when out numbered and only are bested by some of the most horrifying things out there (Gal Vorbak, Primarchs, Greater Demons, War Automata). I’m not sure if you know how ridiculous Captain America gets in the lore, but it’s insane. He comes back to life multiple times, Battle reality warping gods, destroys planets, and all kinds of other silliness. I wouldn’t say Custodes are that crazy, but the Marvel universe and 40k universe are way too different. We don’t know the exact process for making a Custodes. It’s left purposefully vague. It’s hard to say on that front though as there’s no explicit statements in how a Custodes is made other than they once were humans (so not clones or vat grown). I’d say maybe a more apt comparison would be cars. Guardsmen are cheap, dilapidated wrecks just trying to get through the day. Marines are mid level pick up truck that are massed produced, but are reliable. Custodes are custom luxury cars that are crafted by master artisans, each high in, hard to replicate, but better individually.

I will never understand that other than a Primarch who the hell can KILL a Custodes? These deaths of custodes who listed as killed by regular astartes or daemon hosts, these dudes are one man armies.
The nature of combat especially on say a pitched battle where a lot of fire power be shot out just means some casualty's are inevitable even these fine warriors
Most likely the Custodes, because while the Grey Knights have pure gene-seed derived from the Emperor, they are still Astartes in form and capability, with their ultra-elite status coming from their mental capabilities and specialized anti-Chaos wargear, while the Custodes are as far above the Astartes as the Emperor was above the Primarchs, gene-crafted beings on a completely different level who are designed to utterly eliminate any threat that falls under their gaze... basically the Grey Knights are highly specialized Astartes designed specifically to hard-counter daemonic threats, while the Custodes are head and shoulders above even the concept of Astartes and are designed to obliterate any opponent, be they mortal, spiritual or otherwise.

I always think of Horus, essentially a child with a bombvest compared to an adult soldier- sure he had great power to kill but he was also primed for self destruction and pretty much unable to do anything else, whereas the soldier is able to use creative thinking to achieve objectives and who has plenty of potential even after serving his purpose as a soldier
By the time Horus arrived in orbit around Terra the Chaos gods had both individually and together gifted him such mutations/enhancements, along with imbuing in him a focused, singular purpose that he was basically the perfect assassin to be set against the Emperor. That being said, it doesn't mean that Horus was even equally as powerful as the Emperor of Mankind, he wasn't... His abilities were given & directed by the Chaos gods and this was done with only one purpose in mind; destroying the entity known as the Emperor of Mankind. So, I highly doubt that Horus could have say, created his own Dark Emporium, or even organized enough resources to launch his own galaxy spanning crusade in order to do so... ie. Horus wasn't more powerful than the Emperor, he was simply the perfect tool to use in taking down the Emperor is all.
Question(s): 1) How many Custodes exist in total, and 2) how are Custodes numbers replenished if killed, or are they irreplaceable? P.S. Cool video! Thx for this . . . .
Originally there were 10,000. Currently there could be as little as 300. That’s the only number we get but it’s just the number of them inside the throne room itself at all times. 2: unknown. There’s theories that custodes are just those that are left since the heresy. But another one is that custodes arnt actually custodes anymore just space marines in fancier armour. They used to be able to talk to big e through dreams but none have in several hundred years, and they can only last a few decades in the throne room before literally burning out when the original custodes would fight beside big e in protracted battles with him both maintaining the astronomicon and throwing titans around with his mind and actively using his powers instead of being a glorified night light
Custodian numbers are supposedly kept at about ten thousand, as was the tradition left over from the days of the Great Crusade. They are not irreplaceable as many people seem to think, there is a whole tradition of the various noble families of Terra giving their firstborn sons to the Custodes just after birth so that they might achieve higher purpose. The custodian candidates promptly have their names changed so as to allow the families whose children do not survive to save face. Do note that while I do enjoy the quality of this video, many of the things stated are not accurate, it would take too long to list them all. If you are curious about more, check out the 8th edition Custodes Codex and the Horus Heresy novel "Master of Mankind". Hope all this helps!

How do custodians rank compared to primarchs in physical strength and combat. Since it seems like they are both “children of the emperor” in different ways
Primarch is without question. However it is said that Constantine Valdor beat Horus during a sparring match(not sure how true this is), however also note that Constantine Valdor is considered the greatest of Custodes.
You might have to take into consideration that in imperial society infrastructure is fitted to accommodate transhuman sizes all over. So that using a holographic whatever (lol) to reduce your size is still a feasible tool for him. But hey, what do I know 😂
I’m kind of a noob for asking this but when Custodes enter the blood games is it to the death? Cause you mentioned one was bested. Or is it until they are apprehended/disarmed?
The custodes once stood ready to defend Malcador against Horus, The Kahn and Alpharius without fear or question - but were stood down (Malcador proceeded to near murder Horus using just a gesture and his psychic power...) No fear in the face of THREE primarchs ? They must have at least believed they could win.
First, bear in mind I am firmly in the camp that even a Primarch would be wise to be wary of a Custodes. Especially now. These are the Emperor's dedicated guard, and the greatest threat he ever faced was a rogue Primarch. The boys in gold have had ten millennia to brush up on Primarch beatdown protocol. I know the Custodes power level is all over the place due to GWs lack of oversight and their declaration that nearly everything is canon. I just like the idea that for all the hype of Astartes & Primarchs, there's whole gang of superdupersoldiers hangin' out in the basement that would eat the lunch of the unwary demigod and/or their progeny in short order.
Physically in every aspect a custodes is far superior. However grey knights and custodes were made for diff purposes. On one hand custodes excell in everything, bigger, stronger, faster, smarter and are more emotionally detached, incorruptible against chaos taint. However they were intended to also team up with sisters of silence who null out psyker/chaos power. On the other hand grey knights are basically space marines specifically made to combat chaos/daemons, and are all psykers. Id put my money on the custodes but its a tough one. What about you friend, who'd you choose?
I remember reading somewherre that some spacewolves have taken wives and had children. Am I misremembering this, or is it just unlikely that they have the drive procreate due to their training/mindset?
Great content but when you said the fighting skills of the Custodes were more or less equal to Astartes it made me laugh. Perhaps this video is old but i can't imagine no less than 10-15 of the most badass space marines working together to have a shot at killing a single custode.
Question: what track is that at the end of the video? With the female vocals? I know that you guys post the music you use, but I can't for the life of me find that one. It's cool as heck.
So Chaos tricked Horus into turning traitor, because they convinced him that with their help he could defeat the emperor and take over, but really all he did was turn the emperor into a future chaos god, kinda like the birth of Slaanesh, humans will have a “God” in the warp.. that’s actually kind of fun to think about, lol, I wish the lore had ONE BOOK, call it “An Emperors Dream” , and make it a book that only THE READERS know exist and it just shows the things that the emperor wanted to accomplish, who is he, his mission, just random facts about the emperor, that doesn’t have to change Anything because ultimately it won’t affect anything because ONLY THE READERS will KNOW THIS STUFF, and it is purposely kept a secret from EVERYBODY WHO EXISTS IN 40K, I wouldn’t mind at all, if The Emperor of Man kind had a secret agenda, or if he is from a Race of beings know a “Pures” , who basically created weaker humans, so they could “play god” , just like Chaos, they wanted their own weaker versions of themselves, that they could enhance, teach, and turn into their loyal worshippers… so perfect humans made less perfect humans, so they be the Chaos gods of the material world, and that’s why Horus was mad, because He felt like his father was selfish, and a liar, because he waged war with the galaxy, knowing we could never win, but as long as we fight in the name of the emperor, he’ll grant us with his favor,
@@RGC_91 In the 10,000 years of the Imperium's history no member of the Adeptus Custodes have ever succumb to the taint of Chaos, a feat they share only with the Grey Knights and Sisters of Silence.
The lore is quite inconsistent. I would argue that in all likelihood Custodes are a little better than Space Marines, comparable to high ranking Space Marines/ heroes. They are generally more proficient in single combat, whereas Astartes excel in squad tactics. Of course Custodes are rigorously selected from the best. However, Primaris should be able to give them a run for their money, when it comes to physical prowess. Especially the already experienced Astartes that were upgraded to Primaris.
TH-camVoice Custodes are physically superior to and much better equipped than Primaris Marines. The difference in their TT stats reflect that and so does the current lore.
@@RADINNS Even when, their geneseed and bodies are fucked by chaos to kingdom come, which is more then enough to outright kill them. The same as with mutants for example. They crossed a point of no return and thats it.
Only very few based on redemption rites of the Imperium and Inquisition. I believe it is rare to be redeemed from Chaos due to the corruption of the ruinous powers. The Emperor offered Horus redemption if only he would accept it, yet Horus replied with the quote similar to Milton's "Paradise Lost" "Better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven"
After everything they do for the emperor, what do they get in return 🤔 ( I wouldn't let myself get cut open and experimented on or put my life on the line for the emperor 🙅 )

Are Custodes stronger than Primaris marines? Also will there be Primaris Custodes?... Sure, I can Google these answers in seconds right now, but having an uninformed discussion is funner.
i know this might sound mean, but please, pull your mic back about 10 inches, every time you pronounce something i can hear your saliva swirl under your tongue.
Would the Custodes hold a higher rank than the Inquisition or High Lords? And why didn't the Emperor appoint his Custodes as High Lords instead? Considering their purpose, it makes a lot of sense and they look more qualified for the job
On Terra yes definetly higher rank then the inquisition as far as the high lords it depends because they are sometimes part of the high lords of Terra but they would definetly be in charge of anyone in the imperial palace
I think the Custodes are not the ones running the Imperium since it would mean too much power for one organization, so the power was spreap beyween multiple individuals from all over the Imperium to prevent corruption, though seeing the current shape of the Imperial politics, they might as well have let the Custodes run everything
omar martinez But aren't the Custodes the Emperors personal guards? The ones who literally guards his body on the golden throne which probably meaning he trusts them completely. If he was worried about them going corrupt he wouldn't have made them his personal guards because they can easily end his life if they wanted to.
They’ve basically been sulking and have given up on humanity after seeing what the emperor was trying to build crumble around them. They just don’t give a f about the rest of humanity anymore
Micheal 5 That would give them more reasons to take over the Imperium and become its leaders. If it's their job to protect their Emperor, then it's also their Job to protect the Imperium because if the Imperium falls so does the Emperor.

No it's just that the space wolfs don't care
Love your work keep it up
Great content but when you said the fighting skills of the Custodes were more or less equal to Astartes it made me laugh. Perhaps this video is old but i can't imagine no less than 10-15 of the most badass space marines working together to have a shot at killing a single custode.
I didn't know dunkey got into this stuff.
Question: what track is that at the end of the video? With the female vocals? I know that you guys post the music you use, but I can't for the life of me find that one.
It's cool as heck.
My question is, do these 40 facts videos actually have 40 facts?
So Chaos tricked Horus into turning traitor, because they convinced him that with their help he could defeat the emperor and take over, but really all he did was turn the emperor into a future chaos god, kinda like the birth of Slaanesh, humans will have a “God” in the warp.. that’s actually kind of fun to think about, lol, I wish the lore had ONE BOOK, call it “An Emperors Dream” , and make it a book that only THE READERS know exist and it just shows the things that the emperor wanted to accomplish, who is he, his mission, just random facts about the emperor, that doesn’t have to change Anything because ultimately it won’t affect anything because ONLY THE READERS will KNOW THIS STUFF, and it is purposely kept a secret from EVERYBODY WHO EXISTS IN 40K, I wouldn’t mind at all, if The Emperor of Man kind had a secret agenda, or if he is from a Race of beings know a “Pures” , who basically created weaker humans, so they could “play god” , just like Chaos, they wanted their own weaker versions of themselves, that they could enhance, teach, and turn into their loyal worshippers… so perfect humans made less perfect humans, so they be the Chaos gods of the material world, and that’s why Horus was mad, because He felt like his father was selfish, and a liar, because he waged war with the galaxy, knowing we could never win, but as long as we fight in the name of the emperor, he’ll grant us with his favor,
YIkes that mic. It's like your right up in my ear.
I wish to see a chaos or renegade custody :)
To my knowledge there are none and the Adeptus Custodes cant be turned I think.
Impossible to turn to chaos due to their link with the emperor
@@RGC_91 In the 10,000 years of the Imperium's history no member of the Adeptus Custodes have ever succumb to the taint of Chaos, a feat they share only with the Grey Knights and Sisters of Silence.
Kitten approves...
Why do they not have power packs to power their power armour?!?
Like everyone else i wanna know if primaris coukd bash them or. Not :( haha interesting idea
NFG UK Not.
TH-camVoice
Far better*
@Colonel Sanders. Which ones do you mean, Custodes or Primaris?
TH-camVoice
Custodes are physically superior to and much better equipped than Primaris Marines.
The difference in their TT stats reflect that and so does the current lore.

I see you moonlight great sword
Are the Adeptes Custodes also psykers??
valdo looking at kiten be like: -_- •_•
Can a Traitor Space Marine redeem himself and come back to the Light of the Empire?
well, no. Regards, Asmodai.
@@heiniknallkopp9688 dude, wrong tag but ok. I knew all what you have said...
After everything they do for the emperor, what do they get in return 🤔 ( I wouldn't let myself get cut open and experimented on or put my life on the line for the emperor 🙅 )
Thats my boy jesse foxtrot.
Didn't they let the Emperor die? and let a lot of stuff get stolen?
Dude I really love these videos. Like really do. I instantly jump on every upload I see, but who is your proof reader? The repetition of words and phrases back to back really hurt the immersion into the lore being shared.
Dude, he literally reads the Wiki word for word. He doesnt study, read or write anything. Literally just reading the wiki word for word.
@@caseyjones8246 Oh no shit? :|
I’m pretty sure that this exact script I had listened before.
Sounds like someone has been working on their pronunciation ;) good job buddy

Really?
Great videos as always. That being said, it's "council of nikea"not "nicea". Different religions ;)
Lol the pronunciation. May as well call them the "custards." Haha
I know that this might sound heretical but the Custodes are not my favorite people. they are just REALLY overpowered security guard. I actually have more respect for the Grey Knights than the Custodes.
Valletta Petra Cyneran they recently have taken a detachment as an offensive force
@@royce9018 yeah and where are they? Guarding my Least Favorite Primarch. Sorry I am not happy with the way they are used. OP security
Read Master of Mankind, you may have a change of heart ;)
Why am I watching the story of me
Must be nice to be all that elite yet still fail the emperor lol
And then spend ten thousand years sitting on your ass and doing nothing, lazy bastards
Had me at tattooed corded muscles 😂😂😂
Are Custodes stronger than Primaris marines? Also will there be Primaris Custodes?... Sure, I can Google these answers in seconds right now, but having an uninformed discussion is funner.
No primaris custodes. The process for making the two is completely different and the primaris upgrade just puts them closer to baseline custodes.
i know this might sound mean, but please, pull your mic back about 10 inches, every time you pronounce something i can hear your saliva swirl under your tongue.
There weren't 1000 there were 10m cuz they were called the ten thousand
Make a video on the sweet(but UNHOLY) acts of xenos love!
Hoping you mean eldar. Unless fungus erotica is a thing. Please don't be a thing.
Rule 34 is a thing.
Enough said.
The real question is? Do they eat food? Do they like pizza?
Ayayayaieeeeee.
Too many ads man
Yo
Could you please at least read the wiki before you read it outloud, because you repeat the same things many times
Its cool but i wish there was more, especially on the fabulous castodes, and kitten of course the best castodes
Bruh your voice makes me physically mad
The jump to the community guy was pretty cringy
Disliked. Too many ads.
