  • A quick review of the Ontario Knife Company's Ranger Series R.A.K. Ranger Assault Knife. Originally conceived as a tactical combat knife, I've found that it has also found its place in my gear stash as a solid survival and bush knife. This is one of the few models still available from the Ranger Series by OKC, which is unfortunate because the Ranger Series have been one of the absolute best knives ever produced by Ontario.
The R.A.K. is currently going for around $70 online through various distributors. It is one of those knives that you don't know you like until you have it in your hands.
As always, feel free to leave your feedback and comments, as well as any questions down in the comments section. I do my best to reply to all questions. Don't forget to subscribe and hit that notifications button, and give the videos some love. Thanks!

I refrained from purchasing a RAK for the reason that the pointed pommel would cause me much grief. I had a knife similarly constructed and my forearm brushed against the handle several times a day. It either ripped the sleeve and put a gash on my forearm. A flattened end would be a pretty effective skull crusher. The force of the impact imparted by such a small surface is considerable in terms of pounds per square inch.

Like combat/survival knives? Got one for you: TOPS Operator 7. it's a 1/4" thick hunk of steel. It's a crow bar with an edge; that's what it is. I was thinking that night when I ordered the knife directly from TOPS and paid nearly $100.00 more. OKC's Chimera is worth a look. CFK/ipak knives are also combative chunks of steel. It seems that they are sold only on ebay. As for me, I try to temper my acquisitiveness by buying only knives with 0.25" blades. I never knew how many quarter-inch thick knives are out there. Hey, I enjoyed you presentation. Fortunately the blade on the RAK isn't 1/4" thick.

Looks nicer this way. Personal , I would strip down the scales and make another ones, maybe from wood , to have a longer handle

Ontario cancels the night stalker but keeps making that abomination. No wonder they are going out of business
