    Honestly, this is the best haggala workout I've found! For some reason, the step clicked when I watched your instructions over 2 other popular bellydancing instructors on TH-cam. Thanks for this, and keep up the good work!

    Such beautiful move the haggala. I love it. I did pretty well. Exhausted in the end. And sweating. Thank you very much.

    This was very challenging. I really enjoyed it. I stayed on my feet most of the time. I will have to work towards mastering the variation of being up on my feet. I had fun.

      Great work Joy! Yes, these move is extremely advanced, and also takes time to get into the muscle memory. Great work! It is a great one to work our brain and build those neural pathways.

    • @BellyDancerDiaries
      @BellyDancerDiaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Especially when you start to speed it up, this is very common. The shimmy walk is a great move too! To perfect the haggala over time, just make sure you are practising it slowly too. One day it will suddenly click and then you will have it forever 😁

  • @TheMegamonster420

    I've practiced this everyday. I can keep up until you start to twist and then I fall over my feet. Maybe 2 more months. Lol. Elisa I seem to get dizzy and have bad balance and its making my move traditions hard. Is the some exercises to improve balance?

    • @BellyDancerDiaries
      @BellyDancerDiaries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Stay with it! Sometimes when we practise we may think it is a waste of time when we don't see immediate progression. But every time you practise it will build until the moment when it all clicks into place! For balance, even standing on one foot helps. Once you master that, you could also try heel lifts on one foot if you have healthy ankles and feet. And if that feels good, you can even try it with your eyes closed! I recommend holding onto something the first few times until you build confidence. Remember balance is part of your fitness. By that I mean it is something that gets better and better the more we do it.

    Hello , is haggala same with shimmy walk ?

    • @BellyDancerDiaries
      @BellyDancerDiaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Helen, great question! Some people may call the Haggala a shimmy walk, but in my definition the shimmy walk is quite different. I recently did a video about walking shimmies: th-cam.com/video/yzOMXquqlbM/w-d-xo.html
      You can see the move feels and looks quite different. One beautiful thing about belly dance is that the moves are subtle. For this reason, it is great to see it live, up close and really appreciate the differences between the movements!
      Which do you prefer? The haggala or the walking shimmy?

    How long did this take you to master? This is...difficult

    • @BellyDancerDiaries
      @BellyDancerDiaries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I actually have no idea. I find most of my students can get the move slowly after a few weeks. It takes longer to speed it up. Just make sure you are getting the technique right first. You can this about a step little shake or wobble if that helps. When you go really fast, you don't really have time to think "down, out, up". Instead you can just think "down, down, down, down," each step and allow the muscle memory to take over. Hopefully that helps! Let me know how you go with it. I know you will get it eventually and it will be such an achievement when you do. It will all of a sudden just click into place. So keep practising and enjoy the anticipation for that moment 😁
